Brawler damage vs Slayer
Question: Does brawler still deal more damage than Slayer?
Explanation/background: I've never been the type to look very far into raw stats in games like this in the past, but, after getting really into this game again fairly recently, I thought I'd better check something. I main Slayer, which I'm gonna say is probably obsolete due to Ninja, based off my experiences around them and the lack of Slayer players I see. I would like to know, however, whether they're still outclassed by Brawler. Back when I used to play this game, I remember Slayer being the best for raw damage output, which was all turned on it's head when Brawler was added, which fulfilled the same job as Slayer, only it had much better armour as well as higher damage, which really makes very little sense. I don't think there was much in it, but I remember that it made slayer largely obsolete, as there was now a beefed up version with similar knockdown and stuff rolling around. So, question: Does brawler still deal more damage than Slayer? This is, of course, aimed mostly at max level, though it would be interesting to see how they compare as you level up too.

Why does it matter? They're both different roles: one tank, one dps.
Not to mention it's better to play a class you like instead of whichever that has higher dmg output.
I know you should play the class you like, that's the whole reason I play Slayer. The problem was that Brawler was a tank that was also a better DPS class. I just wanted to know if that was still the case
That would tell me that something has changed, as this situation would imply that Brawler's no longer DPS king (Well, I guess there's Ninja now, too) as well as a tank. I didn't think about Sorc and Archer, though I suppose I should have, considering that it should have been obvious that their overhauls would be bumping their strength up towards Ninja levels. I guess all the overhauls are going to do that, huh?
that's nice, but parties will tend to favour higher DPS classes.
There is a guy recruiting people for Harrowhold in general discussion and demanding +15 Ambush for most DPS except archer where he only requires +12 Guile. It's too bad if you want to play your favourite class when the damage is terrible.
I very much enjoy playing my slayer, but my archer which I don't really enjoy playing does way more damage with worse gear.
to the OP;
In 2 months time a new class will be out which is said to have a similar play style to slayer and it will out dps the next strongest class 2:1
If you want a slayer play style and broken DPS output, just wait 2 months.
more like a warrior killer...
slayer doesn't need edge buildup for burst damage...
i'm going to laugh the day they buff slayers and you see everyone rolling one...
Warrior has high dps after the revamp. Based on any Korean video posted to show the new class being "op" none had them doing more dps than other good Warriors. So, if the new class is op, then Warrior is equally op. Kind of hard to kill a class that's just as good.
Rolling a class doesn't give you higher dps. It's kind of pointless if x class has higher dps potential when you're still better at y class anyways. When Ninja came out I know of many people that switched to it because it was 'op' and they had lower damage than they did on their previous mains, even with the Ninja being geared better. There's also the fact the 'op' damage that those class out put is impossible to achieve in your groups anyways.
that already happened, it was called the 65 patch and look how cool jawbreaker eviscerate is!!!!!
I mean, I don't really want broken DPS, that's just boring. I'll probably end up playing it anyway though, I just wanted to know if Slayer's still largely obsolete as far as parties go, due to brawler (and now Ninja). I can only assume it still is, as I barely ever see slayers.
As a side note, I really hope they buff all the monsters and stuff after all these class revamps come through. It's gonna be boring running round shredding everything without a second thought.
tera will die before that
They are already buffing it on lunar dancer release.
Good to know. I should probably start keeping myself up to date on this stuff.
P.S: Slayer will always be broken when a new level cap or buff is applied to them. Then BHS will heavily nerf them into the ground. Just sayin'.
