Why trash mobs like to chase mystic so much?

I noticed a problem for a while that in mob phases, more exactly speaking, high crit resist mobs in SS/LK.
The lancer arrives earlier and start to aggro these mobs with shout/shield counter.
But when mystic comes here and heal the tank. All mobs immediately turn to mystic no matter what lancer has done.
The lancer used shield counter 3 times to the mobs, it should generate more than enough aggro, Why mystic can steal aggro with just 1 cast of titanic favor?
The lancer will never draw their attention until they or mystic die. Mobs will not stop chasing mystic until they reach mystic and start an attack.
Challenge shout only has 5 second of max-aggro. Mobs will again turn to mystic after that effect ends.
Actually it happens to all tanks. Only brawler can deal with it she can knock all mobs up to air before they threaten mystic.

There is no problem when priest is solo healing. Mobs will stay attacking the tank even if tank can hold the shield a bit longer without worrying about aggro switching.

Not sure how many of you notice this weird problem as well. I believe it is a definitely a glitch instead of tank isn't doing well.

    this is not a mystic specific issue. having both solo and duo healed ss and lk on priest and mystic, i can say that specific mobs (generally sorcerers and warriors) will chase the healer regardless of aggro. if your tank is losing control of all of mobs, try to stick to boomerang pulse until they've regained aggro (as both healing mote and titanic favor generate aggro iirc.)

    if you're being chased, you can stunball/cc the mobs for a couple seconds of free time, and make sure to let them follow you into the dps/tank so that they can get rid of them.

    Priest won't aggro these mobs commonly. The lancer can lure all mobs then build initial aggro then just defend/shield counter. Even if priest spams heals to lancer he never steals aggro.
    Unless priest casts a heal before lancer shouts/attacks the mobs.

    Happened to me on Priest, and as a dps. This is nothing new since SS mobs would do the same.

  • I will give an honest guess. This is purposely programmed in the game. I honestly don't think it has anything to do with aggro. I will give my honest opinion as to why. If I was a heavy gamer like most and find these dungeons super easy (which in fact is the case for many gamers as it is), IF I was a game developer I would want to focus more to those that are heavy gamers and provide them with more challenges so that they can actually "feel" challenged with the game. They may be the ones that spend the most cash as well, and have the best gaming gear. I think those mobs are purposely programmed to target the healer immediately regardless of how much aggro the tank is designed to pulls. (including crystals, rolls, skills).

    I think having the healer targeted with these mobs actually makes it harder in the healer and the party, perhaps to make them work harder and move around more.

    Now I am not an experienced gamer of Tera and can't speak for anyone. I can only share my thought.

    I myself feel like a tank designed to take a beating, pulling the aggro should be an automatic thing to draw the mobs, Allowing the healer more time to focus on the party heals. Then again this practice of the mobs chasing could be an effort to draw out the dungeon experience a bit longer by forcing the party to split up its efforts, instead of allowing them to focus dpsing the boss.

    This is just a guess. I don't think its accidental.
  • Specific mobs are programmed to target the players that are furthest out, or of specific armour type. The first real example of this is Golden Labs.

    it's not mystic specific. they wanted certain mobs to aggro healers. like the warriors that spawn on the first boss in schm, they always chase the heals.
