Blame the players. They don't buy any male costumes. Stop making threads about this dumb topic. Thanks.

A class thats not locked to one Gender/Race has the exact same costume potential and alot more then a class thats Gender/Race locked.

People not buying male costumes like you stated MIGHT have something to do with Reaper/Gunner/Ninja/Brawler all being gender locked to female only.

I will love to create a wide tera event. Where people just make a bunch of male characters and femani and level them. And also buy costumes for them. What do you guys think?

This will be the best way to give real feedback about new classes gender, but you might take in consideration that this kind of event should be world wide, since NA is only a fraction of Tera population.

I love when people post things about how they will leave and that the game will die without them. Doubt it. Just leave, you are like a suicidal kid screaming I'm going to jump when we all know you are seeking attention.

Actually Gender lock and Race lock is a good thing. But BHS just doesn't keep the balance. It is female, always female, forever female, and Elin.

I wish I could make an Elin Brawler.

I can, and I imagine there would be absolutely no change; people would jump on the next popular reason to complain.

Its almost like theres an extensive list of peoples issues with this game that has been disregarded and never addressed

I was more of saying people complaining about gender lock as being "top priority" and why the game will die are just lying to themselves. There's a bit of a problem if anyone legitimately thinks it's the highest priority issue and are contributing as to why nothing will ever improve.

It was like that before Reaper was added. Higher demand for females means higher supply of them. A business will supply what ever has the higher demand. Games used to focus on male characters back then. However, gamers that play MMORPGs now a days aren't as concerned with playing a character of their gender as they used to be years ago, as a result, you now have a bunch of males playing female characters. BHS didn't even put effort into female cosmetics, and admitted it, yet they were selling anyways. Compare that to male variants where it was met with many complaints about how bad they always were. It's obvious it is easier to sell female cosmetics for more than just them being more popular, it simply takes less effort to produce them and sell them in general.

Unfortunately I'm only fluent in english. I could get the eu communities going as well.

As others have stated, the reasons customers do not purchase male costumes or in general items for their male characters are:

    A) Release of new only-FEMALE LOCKED classes, S3x sells, it really does.
    B)OVERPOWERED new classes(PEW PEW)
    C) Most of the players who play this game are MALES
    D) Tie the three statements above and of course the statistics will show that MOST players prefer Newer and Female classes............
THAT IS BECAUSE THE DEVELOPERS ARE LIMITING RACE/CLASS BY LIMITING WHAT IS REWARDING.

Ffs, I swear if they made a new class (heck even a reskin of an existing class) and made it male exclusive with OP damage higher(let's go with 1m/s+) than the current DPS Meta class and to add a cherry on top gave it a ultimate skill that does 40mil+, both casuals and hardcore players will jump wagon. Who doesn't like sub 8min HM speed runs or mindless auto farming with no difficulty.

Even then, I am pretty convinced that people would have spent more on cosmetics for very same character if it's female. People in general (there are exceptions, of course) appear to prefer to "play dress-up" with female characters more than with male characters. Or basically like: for male characters, people buy a costume; for female characters, people buy a whole wardrobe. Plus, I also suspect that for male characters people are more likely to prefer fashion coupon looks than cash shop looks. Part of all this could come down to the sorts of costumes they're selling and they're not being able to properly figure out what sort of male costumes people want to buy, but in the end the conclusion to them would be the same: average revenue per paying user with female characters is almost certainly notably higher than for a user with male characters. So it's probably not just about the amount of people who play female characters (or the amount of female characters in the game), but people's spending habits.

Keep in mind that they have the data about costume sales and female-sales-biases not just for the days since Reaper (or today), but for all the time before then since the launch of the game. That's where the foundations were established about people's purchasing preferences. So they would be able to consider and account for the biases that happen because of the female-only classes. Even if they reverse course and do a whole string of over-powered male classes to try to balance the equation, they probably think they'd be leaving money on the table.

This is basically the consequence of a game who went F2P on the back of cosmetics.

first of all i don't see that being the case, but even if it were, what reason do they have to do this? just to say "we did it guys, we made a male only class!" ? the people complaining about genderlock are a massive minority. the people that want to play male characters are also a massive minority.

in a game that makes most of its profit from cosmetics, until people are ready to fork out the dough for male cosmetics don't expect them to make a male-locked class. and this is coming from someone who has spent money on tons of cosmetics for a male character over the years. I gotta buy the boxes myself and endure the rng because no one in the game ever opens male lootboxes. then again with the quality of the male costumes they've been releasing recently (or complete lack thereof) i can't blame people for not spending money on them, either

It's not about making a new "male" class, it's about not denying a choice and then presenting "statistics" about the majority of the playerbase prefering to play one gender, when the developers artifically skew them by limiting choices and THEN informing it's playerbase the reason of decisions to keep continuing on making said gender locked classes.

A rough example would be that the gender ratio of characters created was about the same or just a few percentages lower, let's go with 42% males as opposed to 48%(not the real values). The first statistic release from Tera showed both genders as a very close % value. That in itself is alright. Create a new class it's fine...is it?

After the release of the newest addition to the roster of classes, people noticed that the newest addition is strong. Very strong (a common trait every subsequent release). What happens when you introduce something stronger and newer. People try or flat out reroll. We have plenty of ways of knowing months ahead how a class will be thanks to the delay between ktera patches and NA patches, why do you think people know where to farm and what to farm/what to sell before new Major updates happen? Also ez way to make millions ingame. Ty delayed patches.

Getting back to topic...knowing It's stronger why decide to go for something weaker? Of course there are those that stay with their favorite class based on gameplay/aesthetics and/or money/time invested but those are few, I may not have statistics to prove that statement, but it's based off observation from the Market(Trade Broker), Classes on Cities, and pvp/pve content. I am a Lancer main and have been since dreamkeeper days so I always notice who and what I am running with, it is kinda my job.

Alright, so a new class is announced and It is gunner, this time in two flavors same gender. People are happy again, others start questioning. Same response, "higher population playing said gender, no reason to make different gendered classes". Oh but look, we gave gunner damage that is superior to decked out classes with max gear, only using mid tier gear (claps hands like trained seals). New and powerful class release. More of a demographic shift occurs from players creating characters from the new class (both existing and new) with no reason or incentives to create new characters of older classes.

Brawler...same thing but this time let's make it a Tank! An overpowered tank, that way those other tanks will have to join the Brawler nation or be lost and forgotten to time (until future bhs balancing, all veteran players know what bhs FoTM balancing is). Now, not only dps and healers will reroll but tanks are more likely to as well since a brawler does everything better and hits harder than a dps while having frontal guard on most of their kit. Again, population gains more favor on the side of females in charts. Wonder why?

Ninja release, same-ish story as above, same statement on why future class/gender development is keenly focused on female genders. Same effect to gender populations/class.

Lunar dancer, same-ish story as above, same statement why future class/gender development is keenly focused on female genders. Same effect to gender populations/class.

It also did not help that DPS meters were misused and used as a device to further the disparity between classes(directly affecting gender population) encouraging some of the population to start playing the FoTM game, switching to the "easier or more rewarding classes".

TL:DR: Demographic values were shifted purposely (or by accident) by BHS due to release of NEWER and more POWERFUL classes(genderlocked) that overshadowed their predecessors by rewarding those with newer classes with easier progression, both in pve/pvp with noticeably less effort and/or skill ceiling. Then claiming it is what the population wanted based on charts values when the players were kinda given two options: New OP smexy class, or old stinky dps that won't get #1 on DPS meters or get top spots on pvp leader boards.

KR statistics should be closer to 75-25 in favour for female lol. I don't think they will only do female if the numbers are closer.

At this point the damage has been done already. If they try to please a part of the remaining playerbase by finally opening options for more gender options on new and/or existing classes, they will highly like not net enough revenue or maybe even lose revenue developing these options :/

Also, there is the chance of players who heavily invested financially(costumes count too and sucks you cannot sell or tade those) to quit if their class isn't top tier or becomes the new Slayer (lol) but I believe they do not care about this since every new release overshadows the previous one by a significant margin.

Tera has had a whole 2 years before Reaper was released. You still want to believe female costumes outsold male ones just because of locked classes. You are free to stay delusional but it's not gonna help you feel better.
