Federation Bill store changes

  • Well BuddyUp is for new players, I meant the old ones. I can't believe that no one ever spends Fed bills on fashion coupon box or height changer or Dafi (back then it had a good price) when they urgently need money and they have nothing to sell...or the majority of the population is that rich? lol.

Whatever, the problem is "nothing to buy". GMs are afraid to put in anything valuable. Keep collecting and let's hope.

So if someone logs in every day for 365 days, that's 1825 fed bills. I doubt that a lot of people has 2-3k fed bills, probably just a few percent of the active population, since people take shorter/longer breaks or spend them on anything that can be sold. I might be wrong. But in this case, anything valuable (and of course, untradable) for 100-200 or max 300 fed bills wouldn't ruin the market.
We could get more useful items than costumes without negative effect on the market, for example: Noctenium Infusion Box, Potions/Food, anything...

    I have 15k federation bills o.o

The Fed Bill store is an odd animal. We've been giving it a lot of thought lately. One problem is that players have so many Fed Bills saved up, any costume we put in there would be instantly bought, bringing the store right back to its current state... nothing new to buy. At the same time, players obviously saved up all their Fed Bills for SOMETHING, so making those Fed Bills useless isn't good either.

Exarch masks were Alliance rewards, but now that Alliance isn't in the game any more it might make sense to add them at a very high Fed Bill cost... maybe? Another issue is that there are more than a couple cosmetics/mounts in TERA that hold a lot of prestige, partially because of how hard they are to get. Making those things super super easy to get kind of ruins the point of having rare and hard-to-acquire items.

TL;DR we don't want to [filtered] off players that earned cool stuff the hard way, but we want to do something fun with Fed Bills. The discussion continues :pleased: :pleased: :pleased: :pleased: :pleased:

if you're going to put the legacy exarch mask/sirjuka helm in the bloody fed store, then you might as well re-structure all those legacy achievements such as over achiever/bossy/carnivore/blood-soaked, etc, and make everything in the game free and easy to get. but seriously @spacecats just cause some people who couldn't able to get them doesn't mean you have to put em to the store and make it obtainable by everyone.

just no, keep the legacy items as the way they are. it's meant to be legacy for reason as you said it ruins the point of acquiring it for those who legit farm it. otherwise, if you're going to make everything is obtainable by everyone then help get me my over-achiever achievement and my red carmine mount as nexus achievements was long gone and that's the only achievement i have left to get over achiever :^)

Some stuffs you can include somewhat:

The crusade mount (in memory of Crusade because you can't ride that anymore)

    Some old unobtainable weapon skins.

Very old dressings that nobody would buy loot boxes from the EMP store.

    OR

You can always host limited time fed store events. (Stuff you can only buy for a single weekend and twitch stream of course rewarding some fed bills lol)

    For consumables:

I am pretty sure people won't really mind 30min Bravery in this store :^).

Goldfinger tokens maybe? 160 gold fingers for 80 tokens actually doesn't sound that bad in practice.

    Dyads are always in demand.

Dragon Scales would be nice really. 5 or even 10 for 1 doesn't feel that bad even if people stocked loads of fed bills.

Truth is my main had 2 full stacks of fashion coupons (10k a stack iirc) when IMS dropped Fashion coupons and Amethysts like candy, the only thing I bought back then was chest changer cuz :^).

Older plays had too many Fashion Coupons, and Dafi was useless to anyone not new as well. Buddy-up code is also abused by level 65s, anything good that can be traded will be used by them.

something like the wacky or garden or alternate weapon skins.
Just saying that there are more people like me who have their assets in costumes or weapons skins. I'm holding on to like 5 gardens, 3 alternate and 2-3 wacky. I sell them from time to time, but nevertheless I spent money for them. So .. making them for free in the cash shop .. phew.

It won't kill my business, but others will be quite enraged.

Were you hoping to get 100k profit off of them because you can monopolize the market for such items?
Those silly costumes were never meant to be expensive items but something silly in world of TERA.

no, I'm pretty sure he/she was trying to protect their gold by investing in something that scales over time (and is tied to a real currency aka EMP).

Legacy items from alliance or some other patch - "No no no,then I wont be a special snowflake anymore hur dur"

Oh so you'd rather be part of the problem not the solution.

No, I'm trying to see what you think the goal/purpose of the fed bill store is then I'll offer my suggestions accordingly.

Alliance masks were from achives/becoming exarch/alliance leader/echleon. Shouldnt be on the fed bill store. If you wanted them you should have gotten them when they were in the game, most the people I see asking for alliance masks were around when alliance was in the game. Why didnt you bother trying then.

Putting them on the fed bill store completely ruins the whole point of it for the people that legit tried to get them. I only ever got a leadership mask and Im happy with that. I dont wanna buy the exarch mask off the fed bill store I wanna work for it. The masks kinda show that people actually worked for them, buying them off an npc or the cash store doesnt really seem fair to those that worked for them. If you wanted the masks you should have worked for them as they were alliance exclusives.

Yes I remember people working for position of exarch by dual client killing themselves over and over till they topped the list.Very hard work indeed.
  • How about temporary (3-day/7-day) alliance masks then?
