Question on using Name Changer

Hi guys, can I ask? What will happen if I use name changer, does the "Crafted by: My Name" changed too?

Thanks and have a nice day!

Behind the scenes the item is recorded to your internal ID, and not actually your name. So yes, if you change your name, it should correct all references.

Edit: See answers below -- I guess it does not do this after all, at least in most cases.

Really? Thanks a lot. @counterpoint I'm gonna change my name after the gm/admin answered my ticket regarding the costumes (race locked) to transfer it :) thanks again.

No, "crafted by" does not change when you name change.

A couple of years back I crafted a Lucid weapon and then changed my name, it still stayed as my old name on the weapon. And another time I transferred with a different VM weapon and my name was taken so my weapon said "Crafted by" and nothing more. I'm not sure if this still happens though.
  • It doesn't change to your new name. It retains the name that you crafted it with.
  • It will not change, the "crafted by" is stored as a string with the weapon not as a reference to the crafter

@LucyFear Sorry, per the above, it looks like I was wrong and it will preserve the name in most cases. I must have been thinking about other things that do reset when you change your name.

(I guess maybe they did this in on purpose in case someone changed their name so that people wouldn't know who they are anymore?)
  • Thanks so much for the response everyone and @counterpoint no worries :) thanks for letting me know
