(Suggestion) In-Game Player Game Moderator
The Concept of In-Game Player Game Moderators
I have a concept that's been used in other MMOs and online browser games that I thought helped the in-game community a lot. I think this concept should be taken as learning material for the game and not a full fledged plan. Things could be added or removed from this idea, but the core concept would be clear all together to every player that they are a helping player to the community and nothing more.
What are 'Player GMs'?
The term Player GMs could be written as Player Game Moderators and as to only be seen as such. To briefly put it, they are experienced players of your marketed MMO that share insight to players about your games qualities, benefits, assets and technical information about how to perform your best in game. Player GMs would have their own item/color/icon* shown either beside their name or on their player character when they are active to help answer questions any players may have, help players who are stuck in a bad situation or a bad area in the game and help out with community alerts. They are unpaid volunteers that wish to improve the community of your MMO and declare to use their title not to cause any harm to any player or true GMs in-game. These players can also file reports for other players by collecting information about the incident and submitting a ticket on their behalf.
How would they be different from other players?
Similar to the player council, these players would delicate their time to helping other players, other than working solely on their own motives. These players would not have any special ability that staff of Enmasse have to use but be recognized as a trust-worthy source of information and guidance. These players could be similar to the player council in helping promote and create player-made events, but their main goal is to help other players in need.
Who should be a Player Game Moderator?
Similar to (I know it's a kids game) Club Penguin or Gaia Online, I believe anyone could qualify to become a GM as long as they can hold the correct information, be able to respond to different kinds of players perspectives and general in-game questions. This could be anything from area locations, quests, lore, achievements, dungeons/battlegrounds, enchanting, and being a positive community member. I believe it shouldn't be based off of popular vote as that puts a feeling of "only trust your best friend over your teacher" for positive information.
Why should this be suggested to this MMO?
I know there are GMs lurking around servers time to time but not much connection is made, especially when the same questions come up the most. There are people who are willing to go out of their way to help these players, but some questions cannot be answered because of the lack of player trust in all servers. We shouldn't be limited to the prettiest elin or the oldest player to become a game moderator, but instead we all become a team player by our own choice.

For those who have not encountered player GMs:
- the job usually is not paid. So they throw in their time, knowledge and effort. At best, they get a thank you
- they are regarded from very different positions, ranging from "nice mentor" to "EME fanboi"
- they absolutely have keep up continously high standards as they represent Tera. "I don't know" is a no-go
- they often are the main target of the frustrated players. Every MMO has angry players
- player GMs have to be supervised. In worst case, this could be more work than not having them
I don't think player moderator supervision will be an issue, as that has never happened with me when I was performing this role for other browser games and MMOs. Especially when I was being paid by the company, we just had to make sure that they were in check time to time by monthly briefing of their progress. Any reports made about a player moderator was submitted as a regular issue and that if enough evidence was pilled up, they'd lose their title; Or in worse case scenario, a ban.
Even with high stress build up of this position, I'd be willing to commit to my role without allowing conflict to become out of hand. Anyways, it's just an idea that's been thrown out there in the open. I just need to wait and see if there ever will be a concept similar to this in the future.
