Transition from Ambush to Behemoth, Is it worth it?

So I have been wondering ever since I've been doing HH, if converting to ambush to behemoth gear is worth it.

I have full ambush and I look at other lancers with behemoth gear, and it doesn't seem that much of an increase. You compare that with the about 1.5 million gold loss from not being able to sell ambush next patch. Sure behemoth looks cool and all, and its a prestige trophy set from clearing all the phases of HH, but is it really worth it to convert comparing that to the major gold loss of having to start fresh come the following patch?

What do people think?

Does anyone have any spreadsheet info on the new VM9 set comparing that to ambush and behemoth gear? If so, post the link here pls.

Thanks

If you're looking to do the highest possible dps for the patch then yea getting behemoth is worth it, if you don't care for damage why did you even make ambush then? you could have just stayed in imperator gear or even guile and just dont make anything +15 at all. but if you're the type to just have the current patch gear then afking afterwards for the next patch then turning ambush to behemoth has no value.

Personally when people told me ambush to behemoth was only "2%" or w/e extra attack mod i was skeptical but honestly if you can get to +15 ambush now you still have a couple months to get the gold for vm9 fairly easily if you actually play the game.
  • if you rich sure...

as of right now difference is 8-11% if no mod happen to VM8 in the future...

If you sell your old gear, it's not worth it. If you don't sell it, it is.
  • I don't think is worth it if you plan to upgrade to the next vm next patch. Or if you are just to used to selling your curernt vm when you upgrade to the next one.
If you don't plan to craft the next vm and save up gold then sure, upgrade, why not?
  • Unless you're doing it for the prestige or are an end game min-maxer that doesn't care about the gold loss for that extra 2-3% modifier just to hit just a little bit higher, then it's not worth it. There are many more important factors to damage that would be better to pursue than the miniscule upgrade to Behemoth.
  • No dont do it unless you cant lib your gear.

If you are rich and don't mind not being able to sell your old gear, sure.
If you don't plan to VM9 for a while after the new gear patch, sure.
If you do want to sell your old gear to help fund VM9, or you want your money to be worth it, I suggest sticking to ambush.

The difference between ambush and behemoth isn't big enough to waste tons of gold you can make by selling it since we are so far into the patch already. The difference between vm8.5 and vm9 is pretty considerable.
If this question was asked near the beginning of HH patch, maybe it would be more worth it?

The ability to liberate gear is freeing. It's why I bothered crafting and enchanting my gear myself in the first place. If I purchased it from someone else already completed, I could have saved a lot of money and time, but I wouldn't have been able to liberate it later. I say liberate, and not sell, because liberating an item brings more freedom than a mere sell. I have a lancer alt currently, and a lancer main. Two lancers. When I acquired my ambush lance, I liberated my imperator lance and passed it down to my alt, even got to keep the dyads since they were on the same account. Now I have two lancers who can comfortably clear difficult content. That's double the profit every day, should I decide to utilize it (I don't though, because I've recently grown tired of things). I will do this again, should I go for vm9 (I probably won't do this either). Getting behemoth would have completely nullified the possibility of passing gear down to my alts, or even just selling it to make some quick money later on.

Calculate the expected cost of Ambush gear next patch and ask yourself if the ~3% boost is worth losing that much gold/freedom. If it is to you, then go for it. Personally I'd only get behemoth armor if I were rich, or if I mained a healer, since they're like the only class I can think of that is able to get away with not upgrading their stuff for multiple patches in a row. Any other class is gonna feel that pressure to upgrade eventually, especially with how easy next patch looks, and when they inevitably do upgrade they'll be stuck with all this junk that they can't even resell.
  • If you can afford it, it's worth it. Every bit of stats you can get is more and more expensive the closer you are to BiS gear.

I personally only made full Behemoth on priest coz I cant afford to upgrade it in the next patch. On my sorc however I am keeping Ambit for future decisions.
  • Only if you buy the weapon from someone else or you lib it to buy etching IV. The increase is pretty small (2%).
Of course if you only have +12 ambush (armor, for example) and don't intend to +15, it's always worth to make them into behemoth. I went this route for most of my toons (+15 ambush weapon, +12 behemoth for the rest).
And if you're a lancer, rerolling both earings to +6 endurance would increase your armor a lot more than converting to behemoth. Heck, I even cheap out on my lancer by glyphing grounding shout (21 endurance) so I don't have to +15 my chest, and I'm still as tanky as other +15 tank no less.
  • It would make sense if there were more content/dungeons... but you're literally running RMHM to get ambush, running HH to run RMHM and maybe clear HH... meh.. seems like you'd be well enough off as is with ambush, right?

It is worth it to Behemoth gear the following scenarios.

    1) If your gear is +12 and you dont plan on +15ing it.
    2) If your gear can NOT be liberated anymore
    3) If you dont resell your gear
    4) You want the damage/defense increase and dont care about reselling your gear

In the following scenarios it is NOT worth to Behemoth gear.

    1) If you mismatch your set bonus
    2) If you plan to resell your gear. (note: it will not sell for very much next patch since mid tier gear will be just as strong as ambush just without and 5th roll. expect around 100-200K for weapon.)

How is guile 2 gonna be just as strong as +15 ambush? That doesn't make any sense.

Base attack is same. Ambush has extra line and +6% from the awakened lines tho
