Does taking part in CU:V grant guild XP?

Today's patch notes say:
System messages for Civil Unrest: Velika guild XP rewards were not displaying properly.
I've never heard of XP rewards from CU:V, how does this work? How much XP does it grant? Is it awarded just to the winner guild?
I've checked the guilded age page but it doesn't mention anything about this.
