  • Well.... I feel like Slayers do well against Archers, I don't struggle as much compared to other classes, Ninja's too and Reapers if you can read them and adapt but ofc those last two really depends on the player himself.

Block classes is where Slayers will get royally fked and Sorc too....

They'll make you want to quit your class but then you remember Slayers are fun af despite being one of the weakest classes.

Maybe you can do well against lesser skilled players.

Do tell how you begin to even approach Archer/Reaper? You say you can read your opponent to win but you forget that slayers are the easiest to read. Slayer is the only class that has a punishable roll. That's right, the iframe ends before the animation, leaving you a quarter of a second being a sitting duck.

Archers can double stagger into one shot combo from 10m away. Reaper can Pendulum-Whipsaw into stuns sundering -> soul reverse -> stun combo.
  • Why you not pressuring the archer, why you getting hit by pendulum.

Really though the iframe ending before animation is not on all races. Both elin and fem cast are examples.

As Slayer you need to pressure your opponent into doing what you want, or know what they are gonna do. Is it hard? Yes. Can very experienced people abuse it to never losing to it. Yes. But can you body the majority of the playbase still? Lol yes.
  • Basically what Glitchy said, you got to pressure them, I personally never rush a backstab, I use backstab when they have ran out of utility/evasive, like for an example, Slayers have plenty of abilities to pressure opponents to use their utilities and evasives, such as using leaping strike into eviserate, you've taken a dodge off someone, then try and rush them down which they'll undoubtly try and get their distance away from you maybe even using a roll at this point you want to use your backstab but if it's a really good player they can potentially counter the backstab if your not careful.

It's all about trying to take away their utility, then you strike. My playstyle is a balance between offence and defence, I'll push them and burst them down and dash back out to manage my cooldowns, you got to figure out what playstyle is best for classes and players.

A passive playstyle reaper will lose to a Slayer if you play correctly, shouldn't be an issue. A reaper should be playing aggressive against a Slayer though, but everyone has their playstyle preferences.

The same applies for archers, just keep pressuring them, and backstab them once they've used their dashes/tenacity or just get them into a kd combo from leaping strike into eviscerate, I honestly don't find Archers that much of a problem, I think it's a skill match up.

You are playing the wrong race.

Elin the iframe ends at the same time.

F.Castanics the iframe actually lasts for a split second after ending, and also creates constant desync. Almost every single serious PvP slayer racechanges for this reason. Female castanic has tons of exploitable bugs with the hitboxes in this game that cannot be done on other races.

  • I swear I picked fem cast for the legs :^)
  • Coool don't make me gear my Slayer and Skype Syke to come back :^)

@GlitchyTrash So you mean you can win vs inexperienced players ? Got cha. Lol. Also Pendulum is instant-cast? Its like asking why are you keep gettting hit by warrior backstab? I'm playing female castanics, if you say their iframe ends after animation then i'm afraid you are as a good slayer as you thinkg you are. Please go test it yourself.

@Madheadjosh Any decent archer will stagger the crap out of you if you try to use Leaping into Evis, even if you buff Leaping with rush. If you think that KD combo is effective, i'm afraid you only dueled really bad archers.

They can camp their invisible traps. They can initiate their one shot combo from 10m away with an instant stagger. Much like Reaper. Slayer doesnt have such a thing. Everything slayer does is awfully predictable.
  • I have tested it and have enough experience to know it's correct. You must not be executing your moves after dodge quick enough.

And pendulum and backstab aren't even close to the same thing lol

If you want to argue each point that's fine, but you are just keeping yourself from improving with that mindset.

Last tip, someone who camps a trap of any kind is literally the easiest target for you since you have tenacity and many anti KD moves. Later o/
  • Even on cas fem I still am able to get hit after my roll and can legit do nothing about it.

It's not about beating the majority. It's about being the best.

Tfw you read this topic to see all the pvpers theory crafting pvp because it's dead ingame. SORRY GLITCHY LOL :D
  • Oh I agree about being the best but not every has that goal.

As for the iframe, that's poor positioning, if you iframe into a spot that is easily hit by your opponent chances are you are gonna get hit. But I can double roll and be iframed through the entire duration. As well as roll into whirlwind and be perfectly safe from staggers. If you are getting punished during that I can only guess you aren't casting fast enough.

Ayi it ain't no theory when you can do it! <3
  • I used to play Male Castanic and his roll felt shorter and clunky, I'm now Female Castanic and her roll's are smoother and iframe through the entire duration till she lands.

Also I tend to find reapers and archers predictable, if there's a good reaper/archer yeah ofc I'll struggle but as a Slayer you'll find gaps and chances that you will want to abuse, you will smash a lot of their health if you manage to pull off a decent combo to any Archer/Reaper, I can nearly one combo any one of those two when 2 - 3 of my core abilities crit... HT, Evis and MS both with high crit ratio.

Both go same way if you get combo'd you can be royally fked, reaper ain't so bad when it comes to comboing you, unless sundering strike crits then thats a problem, but I rarely get critted by that... Thankfully.
  • If we're talking about top slayers here. There is only one and his name starts with Sh and ends with ba. The times when slayers were on the top for team 3's board as well as mystics oh and can't forget about Panchuks.
  • Shiiba is definitely a monster. But from what I was told, slayers could 2 shot people with icb. Not taking anything away from players then, but playing an obviously broken class at the time has to taken into account.
  • Once I put on my victors weapon... icb enters a whole other level in raw power and tremendous impact which totally obliterates the enemy in front of me with zero prejudice and absolute superiority in the most fashionable yet devastating way possible leaving not even the atoms of my opponent intact. I do this as I bathe in the juices if my enemies. [filtered] I'm gonna kms
