Uncommon Noctenium Refiner Price Discussion

I think we should address the price of the noctenium refiners. As of now the price is a little steep and would take nearly all your vanguards to get one refiner.

If you were a non elite player you would still want to spend some of these points on crystals and reset scrolls so more than likely it would be hard to even get the refiner.

If you are elite you can get away with not buying reset scrolls but, a lot of players need a large amount of crystals to reroll to get dyads. Also, to buy these uncommon refiners would be such a luxury to have and would only be used rarely.

I just feel that it is to high of a cost to be used if you are also trying to progress in the game, when nocts should be more of a common material to be used to help you progress further and faster.

That's exactly what they are. A luxury item.

But thats obviously not the intent of this item, the legendary version of this would be a luxury item. ( for some reason we did not get the rare and legendary version we only got uncommon version )

it was really supposed to be a supplement to help balance the use of noctenium between all classes. Not a luxury item. With this price it is, but obviously not the intent of the creation of the item.
  • It's around 2k worth in gold (vanguard credits+nocts) for a 10 min buff so it's only really worth it if you are tryharding dungeons.

Yeah but thats the point, BHS created an item to balance noctenium uses. Not a luxury item for only elite players. As a berserker I use way less nocts than a warrior or reaper or brawler, ninja pretty much every other class besides healers. It is supposed to be WORTH getting and USING.
  • I totally agree with you - it was SUPPOSED to fix classes that burn more noctenium than others. It probably used to be like that as an early idea - cheap specialty store item that lets you decide to use nocts per time or per skill. Then someone thought that they can introduce rare and legendary versions as luxury consumables. Reasonable choice.

And then some *** decided that it's a 'great' idea to give even basic one more bonuses than normal nocts. That's where they screwed and instead of simply fixing nocts imbalance we got just another luxury item exclusive for speed runs.

Now even if they make them 1 gold each, it would just inverse the problem - classes that used less noctenium will be forced to burn more on potions because of higher buff. All community asked is to get equal choice.
  • The new uncommon noc worth only if your party can clear a dungeon in 10min full run. Otherwise is a waste of vanguards and nocteniums. Maybe for 100vg but again warriors after revamp don't need them anymore to build edge.

Yeah thats the point should be reduced as a reasonable way to balance classes noct uses, not to just unbalance the game further by forcing players to use them after they have everything they need. Since there is so many people that need vanguard points for other things.
  • I have a question, why on NA Tera don`t have all 3 version of New Noctenium? I saw in Europe 3 versions of Refined Noctenium and i think is more usefull a noctenium with 30 minutes effect, even cost much Vanguard points and more normal noctenium.

  • Wow wtf

    too short
  • this nocterium is no for all classes

and least, about standar players with vg farming, you can buy 50% credits boost with 25 federation bills/tradebroker/ tera emporium rewards, im no see issue here since you can obtain rep. boost without gold.

im only happy mwa up price B)

If you consider the vanguard situation in NA TERA (extremely low value of vg credits), the noctenium refiner is very reasonable. Consider that Nocts are close to 2g each, while vgc is worth only about 1-1.5g per credit. Some classes can use 600-700 noct in the span of 10 minutes.

So the cost of a refined noctenium is about 1.5k gold - for 10 minutes.
You would have used over 1.2k gold's worth of regular noctenium in that time.

    Makes economic sense to me.
  • For an item that is supposed to be commonly and happily used by all classes, the price is flat out stupid - both in amount of nocteniums required as well as in vgc value.
Some classes can use 600-700 noct in the span of 10 minutes.

700 noct / 10 minutes is 1.16 noctenium per second. Possible on certain fast burning low ping classes - sure, realistic in your usual every day common item usage scenario (especially on any other class) ? Not really.

This is de-facto an expensive luxury item and already borderline nonsensical.
  • Do people even use this much nocs in an instance? I know some classes and nocs hungry, but on average. I mean it seems just pointless to even use this much to upgrade a consumable over such negligible gain.
