  • I guess some people don't understand the reasons why Tera Online is doing so badly as of late, let me say this in a clear way, ignoring all my other points.

Tera Online has had over a year (Or two, depending on who you talk with) of the worst updates you could think of, from killing out Battle grounds to ruining the exp of world pvp for people who enjoy leveling or new players alike.
Every step of the way, every single update has felt like a knife in the back of the player for a long time now, and now that we're in 2017 it's now very clear why this has happen.

Enmass wants everything to be 100% like K-tera now, and that is why we are suffering so much in the Na-version.
You cant just pull your fan base down the rabbit hole and expect them to follow, when they are used to the better side.

    The reason? Less work!
With out working always so closely with K-tera Devs on Na patchs, we can get updates faster, but at the cost of Na player base having to deal with so many updates a huge group of people wont ever like.

They are only keeping the most basic of Na-style fix on the game now, and turning away from the big main ones, like World pvp, Battle grounds, ect.

At the end of the day, Tera online dying or dropping players by the pack has nothing to do with it being a smaller game, or over all less funded.
Enmass or should i say the K-tera Devs have dropped the ball on the game, this is the point in the MMO's life where they do less work, less fix's and mostly just keep it running until the milk runs dry.

I would love to say that another amazing game came out, and thats why so and so is like this, but that just isn't true.
I been playing Tera Online for years, from the days of beta and let me tell you, this is not the same game it was 4 years ago.

I love this game, i really do, but this is not the same game i came to enjoy a year ago, nor will it ever be once more.
Enmass has been pretty clear on that.

    Peace & love!

BHS/EME: "The game is doing well."

    Yep! xD
  • Demimask said it right. +1

If u enjoy casual PvE play it. Don't expect real competitive endgame tho. It's insanely easy to level now. 1-2 days and ur done if casual. Mid gear also super easy to get. Insanely easy vs old times. And still some ppl complain. Guess they want everything free and done in less than 1 week. Mid tier is enough for all casual content except end game content rmhm and HH.

Hello Kitty Online seems like a better choice at the moment (kidding lol). Hmmm, if you are a casual who only plays every now and then, this game may cater to you. However, if you want to play it without being a hardcore player...you're not gonna have a good time in my opinion.

Aside the repetitive gear cycles, dungeon/boss mechanics, RNG wall on awakening, buggy/laggy game in general, no optimization, race/gender locks, OP FoTM classes/New OP OP classes, dumb down game...the only thing this game has at the moment is it's unique and satisfying combat....that is not being used to it's full potential.

PvP in general is dead so you can't see how fluid and awesome the combat system Is anymore, and PvE is just spamming the same dungeons over and over, spanking the bams butt cheeks left and right, night and day, everyday...it gets boring fast.

I honestly just lurk forums now and hope someday some good news shows up for Tera's future. T.T I miss playing this game but as it currently is, it does not satisfy me as a player. Nostalgia is a strong thing.

    Make Tera Great Again T.T!
  • MMORPGs not being popular in the West seems to be something most aren't going to ever accept.

MMOs aren't doing well because they have been turned into copy-pasta exaggerated casino interfaces over last few years. And people are tired of this [filtered]. And while Tera is like perfect example of that, it's been also doing quite a few other idiotic things of its own.

Shooters and Mobas have "casinos" too and I don't see those games dying, and a vast majority are also copy-pasted too. The same shooter can be released 100 times and labelled as "new" and it will sell. Westerners prefer more competitive scenes, there are people who don't even like to play LoL but will watch professional players playing, MMORPGs aren't interesting to watch for these people. Other MMORPGs that tried to be different all failed as well, not even single player RPGs are as popular as it used to be. Shooters/Mobas don't suffer from many of the basic issues MMORPGs have.

Why when a forum post like this shows up, a lot of lurkers come out from well... lurking, and start spreading that the game is dying and stuff? It is the same thing I have read over and over again since I joined the game 2 years ago.

The game is alive, well and kicking. We haven´t had good updates in a while, that is all, but players are still there, if you need to do stuff with others you can, and the leveling up zones aren´t much of a wasteland as people make them out to be, I say so because I am myself leveling a character up.
  • basically ping kill players from the start
they banned some country and open some in asian but they did not improve ping "if only EME take some server in asian"
and open all asian country ....... i guess this game alive ........
and optimization of the game still ....... need high end computer to play this game ....... not like other game

Because that's what they live for. The game is dead to them, so obviously it's dead to everyone, right?
  • I used to play this game ALL the time back in p2p days, since free to play not as much. I found that this game is a TON of fun in small doses and when you don't really care about bleeding edge content. This is still a fun game, I just wouldn't play it as much as I used to. It really is great to get on and just do a few fun things a couple times a week. People that make this game their main game are going to be disappointed.

There isn't a ton to do here and pretty frustrating if you play a lot. Plenty to do and good fun if you play a sporadically.
  • I have been playing non-stop for the past week and I have created multiple characters and am still having WAY more fun than if I were playing WoW or any other MMORPG for that matter. Yes, sometimes it seems a bit grindy but once you get set on completing a quest, it actually is quite fun, seeing as how there are large monsters to defeat in each zone (forgot the general term for them), and huge groups of normal mobs that you can stack to kill all at once.

I am playing it as my main game, and plan on upgrading my account this Friday on pay day. It is a great game, lots of fun, and I keep recommending it to all of my friends in hopes that some of them will join me. I don't see myself getting bored EVER, or at the very least, for a good long time.
  • From my own experience as gamer in videogames I think the big problem when getting bored frustrated about the news ,the patches the changes in general in any game are often caused because people need more than one game, not silly games that will entertaing you 5 mins , main cool games like this.
If you spend so many hours in any game from any sort or device looking all in close up you may end up eitehr hating it or bored or annoyed by every single thing they release probably cause you dont have any other place to be.
I do play final fantasy 14, guild wars 2 and some 2d naruto game , that for pc, tablet clash of clans and some other silly entertaining games and also play station 4 , lately im really focused into the Virtual reality wich is really amazing , specially the last one i bought, resident evil 7,And Obiosuly Tera
My Point is i play 2 hours VR that leaves u exahusted btw i do the dailies in that naruto game that takes about 15 minutes , then i play some hours of Tera, guild quests dailies ,vanguards some dungeons and farming my gf takes care of the final fantasy and the other and i do work lol
The key is to play several things and go switching, you have time for all and you won¡t get so overloaded of the same thing day after day.
Ive seen many people complaining in different games, the reason are always the same,i dont like these events, game is dead i dont like updates , not enough changes, pings laggs etc but all of them i have in common that they are 24/7 online like forcing themselves to be there, even if they have to be afk like those highwatch scarecrows
As i said i do play tera daily a few hours and when i log in i really want to play, i wanna run some dungeons and chat a bit with the tera server fauna specially the cute Paporis yeah PAPORIS can make your day brighter, you dont need to take long breaks ,or quit 2 months like some do then they return and feel a little lost or outdated, i recommend to have alternatives and play simultaneously to avoid getting stressed
Im from germany i work i do live in spain and i dont have lagg problems, i play game hosted in china japan and US like this one if tech were a problem i wouldn't play at all, what would be the point, servers could be better? yes of course but since changes of that sort don't come often in any game I suggest to start by optimizing your pc, you don't need a hell of a pc and card or amazing net, just do all you can to improve the playability set video seetings values to 0 try to optimize your pc for a better lattency make sure your disk isn't eaten by other programs while playing, your net you can optimize that too to give preference to games ,besides windows 10 will release soon a windows gamer version that will help us basically to play games.
So in my opinion Tera is a very good game it's not a new game it has a name , lotta years since the release and i don't think Tera will die anytime soon im sure at some points they'd release a TERA 2 because TERA has passed the test with very good results, the most challenging thing of any morpg is not to impress players for a few months with awesome graphics like some are trying to do but to last years and keep players playing and coming back, In general Bluehole is doing fine and EME as publisher do what they can to please the players, i know the triple drops are awesome or that mongo event but well it's what it is we can't have one of those weekly, can EME improve our game experience here? yes i think they try, IS pvp dead, well kinda it is, why? bluehole decided to focus more on pve since i assume they get more benefits from it and players decided that, They monitor things and make decision according to the players demand, opinions, entries in dungeons etc the korean ones im afraid
The PVP decay started after Tensus the last pvp full set released, bgs and wars were pestered by cheaters ,wintraders, greedy guilds arranging wars , gvg's , ruining battlegrounds with their beloved TS discord etc or using hack tools thats why we got that joke called conrflate, players caused this im pretty sure that's why no new pvp set visionmaker was released,
PVE is easier to manage as developer a raid of 5 .7 or 30 the players want to beat the npcs and get the loot and if somone is acting weird you just kick him/her
To reactivate PVP would require more work, first off a new visionmaker, improved unique bg rewards and the most important thing a new whole system against cheaters of any kind, you cant have a dude watching all bgs checking if someone runs faster if somone is feeding or if another is leaving ladders unprotected calling his guildmates via TS, and the system of reporting just won't work it annoys the support team the players and everyone in general, what I'd do is set bots monitoring bgs kicking players on sight showing strange activity , spikes and high values of power speed, crits higher than it should, then id include a system that detects and don't allow people from the same guild to be in the different sides of the raids , making the best distribution possible between servers priority to different serevrs in one raid all mixed . well you could include more stuff, warning messages to those inactive, screen displaying the X areas are unprotectedand of course better rewards so basically a better wise improved system of selection at the queues, just bypassing all that creating several guilds hoping your guild friends cheaters end up in the other raid would be so annoying that people wouldn't botehr to cheat
But thats up to bluehole eme can only improve the rewards to be more attractive for us and hope we play nice
This is my first post and last lol so if you wanna troll or disagree know that i don't care and i will not reply
So Yeah TERA is alive and PAPORIS are reason enough to play TERA yeah CUTE PAPORIS FOREVA, no popo PAPORIS

How can you even speak about the game being "alive" and well, kicking, ect.
The game is at the worst point of its life, worse then it has ever been be for.
PvP is completely dead! (No, Power hour is not a fix, it's a band aid for a problem that will never be fixed.)
PvE is only left, and its fun for the first 30 days or so with new content, but with all the LAG and old reused content, you have much better choices outside of this game.

So do tell me, how is the game "alive" and "kicking"?
You sir, are living in a dream world.
Maybe YOU are enjoying it for what it is, and that's fine.
But don't call a walking zombie, a person or alive, you just end up looking like a fool.

    Peace & Love

Woah, you do make the game sound apocalyptic and beyond salvation.

When was the last time you played, again?

There are always people saying that the game has been in "the worst state of its life" ever since I joined, your words really don´t make an impact on me, as long as I can queue for the stuff I need and I have old people grinding for their endgame stuff and new people I can help, the game ain´t dead to me, I have seen dead games, TERA is a far shot from it.

If you don´t like the game it´s fine, TERA is not a perfect gem by any means, and many of us know it, hell, I would mention a few changes here and there I would do to the game myself that would make everyone happy. But I still enjoy the game.
