Imagine if we don't have goldsink, with a big chunk of gold being generated everyday the price would be driven up gradually, thus making it harder for new players since they don't have lots of gold saved up. It also helps returning players, since your saved assets won't become worthless after taking a break, which ultimately makes them less likely to invest into the game (both time and money). Pushing it too much and the game will just turn into a grinding hell, where you either have to grind every single day to stay afloat or sell EMP.
The logic "if you don't play the game gtfo" can't apply for mmo, since you need to maintain a good population above everything else. It's also the main reason we have sales, events, give aways,... to attract more people into the game. If you want better rewards, try something with specific uses like noc or consumable, rather than gold which has a very big influence range.
"Rich" people don't care much for inflation since they can afford the inflated prices. Do you think rich people care that cosmetics that sold for 50k 2 yrs ago now cost 200~300k? Or that Emp went from single digits to 10, to 20, to now 1:40? No, they most certainly don't. It's rather no surprise that the people who complain the most about things being expensive are the very people that ask for inflation...
Inflation in-game exist becuase publisher allows players to get more gold the easy way.
I'd at least like to see one of the following in the game because at this very moment, TERA NA will remove KS and Bellicarium and replace it with boxes that have the chance of giving you even more VM materials, PVE gear, consumables, arcane supplies, etc... Not something a lot of people enjoy in the game. We like prizes.
I'd hopefully like to see:
- Novelty Merchant selling gems at +15% of it's value
- Gems return to the battleground (Since no one can remember what that chance was so long ago, I'll remind you that is was VERY LOW)
- Gem Bag return as a monthly gift for subscribing to Elite Status
- Amethyst and Pearl is rewarded for instant matching (Return the Reward Box)
The likelyhood of these gems affecting inflation is seriously low because it has not before, why would it now? "Diamonds in ghillieglade, don't do it! It's too OP for the economy!" Pfft.
But if the drop % is same at Ace Dungeon no problem :v
Just farm like a normal person, do IoD, RMHM, some BG etc etc
I do it normally and I barely see them, Gems are part of the game, they should be part of the game. Goldsink and all won't effect HW afkers. They need to be more casual.
majority are OK with those Jackpots, they were in game for a long time. Removing those jackpot actually started the death of CS in time.
Sorry but, you will not get any real gold sinks any time soon. that is just how the game is now and will remain that way for a long time.
Unless they do something with crafting (Nope) Or maybe Housing update would be nice, (Nope) ect.
At this point in time, with dead / dying pvp modes, why not just do it...
It cant be so wrong, to put the "chance" of getting a nice 10k from winning a match with your friends.
matter of fact, make this a reward that is always on, nothing to do with power hour.
You might see PvP come back. maybe...
