ok. 99% then. even tho i make statistic i am sure you don't even believe my statistic. XD

But for 3s, for sure it is almost unplayable level for noobs/new players, due to the fact that their butts got kicked everytime :pleased:

How noobs know proper gears for 3s/fwc? and why you don't carry them but punish? On whatever reason except afk? is this serious esports game or p2w game?[/quote]

3s. You've said it yourself. Ever tried playing a 2v3? Players who queue 3s aren't queuing to carry someone. They're playing to have a chance at winning. And since you're so passionate about the whole e-sports thing, let me remind you about a core element of e-sports. Fairness/Balance. When a team is a player down can you call that fair and balanced? Of course not.[/quote]

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if you want Tera's 3s content to be esports level of competitive game, ok then it is fine. just kick the [filtered] of new people then.

I will rather agree to Sinastria saying that inspect func need to be removed to carry noobs/new players from the game, rather than punishing them for having bad item, and also punish afk people.

It is already accepted, and encouraged in NA gaming that before you even step in a game, you read and watch all guides you can. It doesn't matter if anyone has a sense of self discovery and wants to learn by trying first. That doesn't fit in this modern era because we are not talking about a single player game where the only victim of your failure would be you. Here you learn to play before you play, and that's how the broad community likes it.

So even if I agreed to some minor extent with the OP in that newbies may be hurt in the process, everyone should already know that you should have learned how to do things and how to get prepared before even applying. It's like going to an university to study for something, for then to go make a life working on that.

New players should read guides or ask around before trying if they dont wish to be dropped like the hindrance they are.

This post basically summarized a big part of the collective thinking from those already in the game about those entering it for the first time. Though to add my thinking on this, I'd say, not necessarily new players are the hindrance, but anyone entering the fray with no idea what to do and becoming part of the reason a session either got harder for everyone else or a lost game.

Excuse me but i disagree. It's just horrible design.

The game itself should match people loosely based on equip/rank, and the fact that it does it's best to mix and match elite, badly geared, unexperieced players completely casually makes queue long and game toxic.

In this regard they fail in something that a lot of mmorpg have implemented somewhere during 2005 :/

If they based it on that, then queue times would be even more horrendous than they are now unfortunately. There aren't enough players queuing to make this system viable.
  • SinastriaSinastria ✭✭✭
Well, the point is that you can implement this in many ways.

For example with six players queuing the system could mix teams like:

    high-mid-mid vs pro-mid-baddie.

Queue would be less long 'cause people wouldn't be discouraged to bgs before end game.

Don't worry.. KTera's PvP queue time generally more horrible than NA's due to this system..

becuz nobody plays PvP unless they are pro who knows the knowledge... for sure. last months I get tremendous amount of being kicked for not having good items (for example, dyad crystal). for example CS queue time there is like 15~20min while we spend like 5~10min. And also CS is unplayable while midnight time in KTera, while NA Tera is possible during midnight.

KTera's PvP content is pretty much just unplayable if you are noob/new player. they just kick you everytime.

but when I am in city/town, for example highwatch, KTera's overall population looked much more than NA, while having less PvP population.

but of course, there is no statistic xD

I thought many mmorpg or esports competitive games uses following rank rating system algorithm.. (called glicko)
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glicko_rating_system

not sure what tera uses tho.

so you basically agree on kicking noobs/new players unless Tera use proper match-making algorithm that is rank-based?
    well that also makes sense.
  • SinastriaSinastria ✭✭✭
I don't agree on kicking, actually i proposed both disabling inspect or matching based on rank without kicking.

With disabling inspect you give way to rng in party matching. With ranking you have more balanced teams.

Both systems in my opinion would bring back population to pvp.
I repeat, pvp wise tera has an utterly bad desing that does the opposite of what should do.

Pvp should be the "true" endgame and not a toxicity generator.

At first I wanted to disagree with you about kicking since there's a LOT of people in EU queuing with PvE crystals (hardy, etc) which is just a joke and they show zero motivation.

But seriously, they kick you because you don't have Dyads?

That's a new level of pathetic, and BHS keep adding even more imbalance to grind for. If they didn't add Dyads in the first place this wouldn't be a problem (at least in equalized) over there in KTERA.

So it is BHS's fault as much as it is players.

If you are using PvE crystals in a PvP environment then you deserve to be kicked.

I will not carry your [filtered] if you have 4 hardies on in 3s. It is as simple as that. Fair or not, I'm there to win, just like everyone else.
The game even tells you the crystals you should be using when you log on.

You know the first like 10 or 15 of these threads I was just like, yeah great troll mate. Now I think he's actually just [filtered] enough to believe the [filtered] spewing from his face.

that's nice and all, but simply saying hey you're in a pve setup is good to remind people to switch. not all queues are fast and we end up doing other things while waiting for a pop. sometimes we forget to switch inbetween. silent kicking is just rude and a poor attitude to maintain. now if they ignore you THEN it's kicky time.

^ This. I've been in that position before where I was in my PVE gear doing BAMs on IoD when queue popped. Unfortunately I didn't realize I still had my PVE crystals on at first. It's just a matter of it slipping your mind when you are jumping between them. I also forgot to switch back to PVE crystals when my cousin queued us up for FINM.

Just a quick, "Hey, swap your crystals." warning first would go a long way for a lot of people I'm sure.

Tomorrow thread: "Remove kick or inspect func from PvE to save new players/noobs"
The argument: People don't need to wear crystals at all.
