Blackscreen when Tera starts?

Whenever I click on the play button of the launcher it takes ~1 minute for the game to be actually ready.
Even worse, at least half a minute the game hogs the screen and nothing short of the special Alt + Ctrl + Delete screen will get rid of the black screen.

I don't really mind that the game takes a while to start but effectively disabling my entire pc for half a minute is unacceptable.
Is there any way to fix this?

    get a better pc.

    No seriously many games at this scale have overhogged the pc at that rate.

    Launch used to be way faster as far as i remember, some patch few months ago [filtered] it up and it takes quite a while to launch now even with a good comp, game goes to server selection screen/spinning vortex for like 30sec everytime now

    There isn't really a way to fix this, I've tried. Back in 2012~2013 the launcher boot up was no problem, but it's 2017 and a lot of things have changed, and not just for TERA. My PC (PC = potato computer) is 9 years old now and one day I plan to build my own computer, but if you don't plan to upgrade or build another PC, this is the best your going to get.

    Dunno about you, but that black screen happens when the game skips the logos for me. Annoying at first, but you get used to it (and really, 30 seconds isn't that much).

    I removed all logos since i tend to use speakers and sometimes it'd crash and the intros would be extremely loud LOL, still, even with them it'll go to vortex thingie/char selection screen.

    this happen to me last year, is about how the client conect to Character selection screen, because in mantenance you can viable Select Server Screen, the only way im fix this is get back the pc with a back up. ( with sysmanteck Recovery disk 2013) and wait for a new pach.

    My PC is a pretty good gaming PC and has little to no trouble with most other games.
