Anyways, there was this one time that I got in with a lancer, a ninja, a gunner, and a reaper. The most important part was the lancer, who, at the first boss - came in late and then ignored me when I said 'stop for buffs' because he had not received them. No, he runs in straight to the boss and starts. We all follow after him and I already know it's a bad idea.
He uses all his rookie and neo res on the first boss. Imagine dying that much.
Now the other three people were in a guild together, and the reaper was in VM gear - I didn't check to see which, but I recognized the weapon skin. The gunner was brand new, doing their first run, but they weren't too bad - only died a couple of times, and all for valid reasons. Because the tank died so much - literally, So Much - the boss was shifting aggro like crazy before resting on the reaper. No matter how many times I res'd, I kid you not, the tank just kept on dying within 30 seconds. I counted.
This continued to happen for the rest of the bosses. The thing was, I couldn't figure out what his problem was. He was in full Slaughter gear, which should have been enough, and he had all his appropriate crystals and vyrsks. I was honestly just so baffled how he took so much damage and died so quickly. In the end, I figured it was a lack of knowledge about the dungeon and a lack of skill that killed him. He even died during the mobs before Lilith. During Lilith he died a couple minutes in and I threw a res at him and forgot about him, honestly. He wasn't even keeping aggro while he was alive anyway - the reaper was doing all the work. I was practically heal-carrying him through the entire thing, and by extension, the rest of the party as well. I left him dead for most of the fight at Lilith, and then when he asked for a res I finally got him back up - he died within a minute. We were almost done anyways, so I let him be until after the fight.
Afterward the one of the people from the guild /w me and thanked me for gear carrying, which honestly made me very happy, because that usually doesn't happen at all.
Myself.
Also had a ninja cuss everyone out in Portuguese at Lilith in LKNM because everyone except him kept dying (including me). Coincidentally, he tied our tank for 3rd place on Casual Meter. When I pointed that out to him, he started cussing me out and logged off soon afterwards.
I mean, doing less damage but surviving is better than doing more damage and dying all the time.
The problem with constantly dying is just putting more pressure on the healer(s). It's also really annoying as a healer if you have to keep ressing people, they could do less damage, back off, and live instead of facetanking everything. If they facetank and do tons of damage for a certain period of time and then die and completely fizzle out; it's really stupid.
There is nothing surprising about this. The dungeon bosses nowadays hit very hard. It's not like the old days when you could gear your tank in any +12 gear and expect to facetank. After they added +15 gear, they also increased dungeon boss damage so that even their normal hits take a good chunk of your life if you only have +12 armor. If the tank has full +15, then yes, he maybe able to facetank normal hits.
It's simple. That lancer needs to learn to block. The LKNM boss hits me (Full Guile) pretty hard too if I facetank, let alone a full Slaughter.
Still haven't done any of the new dungeons since WHHM and Manglemire were removed... and I just hate pizza for being too quick.. but I've only done it like once so, I cant talk much on it. Waiting for Lunar Dancer to really get back into things...
Queue'd up for Wonderholme Hard Mode, DPS was a little bit on the slow side but no one seemed to mind.
Get to Bandersnatch after who knows how long and after 2 wipes at the clown boss fight, both our Priests say we don't have enough dps for last boss and asked to be kicked to not suffer dropout debuff, everyone refused.
Started the fight and one Priest did nothing and one went full dps. Whole team wiped then disbanded shortly after. Basically a whole day wasted with no progress it felt like for me.
I had to heal the brawler and they died a couple times, so I had to run and res them. Then I had to heal the rest of the party because they refused to dodge the lasers and the burn wave thing. They face tanked everything.
Everyone dies. I die trying to res the brawler. Boss resets they finally kick the afk. Warrior leaves and basically I got yelled at for letting the warrior die and letting the dps die. I left the party and told them to find someone else or heal themslves.
I had a similar experience trying to do an LKNM daily this morning. Queue popped so I see the neophyte icon on two players, asked "is anyone new here," no response, tank runs in. Fine, okay. The words "block" "iframe" and "dodge" were not known to any except one member of the party. One player dies. "WTF" they said after the pony stomped them for the umpteenth time. It was one of those runs where you blink and somehow everyone is about to die. Was a miracle we cleared first boss.
2nd boss we realize one of the players does not have any jewelry crystals and refuses to use battle solution, yet continues to blame me for not supplying mana, trying to DPS in the purple pools, and still nobody is dodging a thing. Keeps trying to tell me how to play while simultaneously just eating damage over and over again. 2nd miracle, cleared.
When I stopped to try to explain a few things to the party so that they might actually play a bit better, they ran into the mob hallway, pulled everything (even though the tank tried not to) and blamed me for not healing (I was not even out of the 2nd boss room yet).
It's just funny that I can solo heal a smooth SSHM, then get into this party and get yelled at for being a bad healer.
i asked him to use debilitate more to stack the debuff and he says to me "you're an idiot. debilitate doesn't stack. stick to playing healer."
oooookay, dude.
Haha, I've noticed alot that Lancers aren't stacking Debilitate up to 3 or using the skill at all.
I get yelled at asked why didn't I heal them, to which I exclaim that I was being pulled. And that I told them before the start of the match that if they don't want to wait for her to finish pulling me pick up the large supply of motes in the middle. They then tell me that as a healer I should just heal and that's all.
