Please push to fix ping dependent skills

This will not see an improvement if Bluehole only pays attention to KTera and trickles the patches to everyone else. Some attacks do not function well based on the player's ping. It's hard enough for these players to be able to have to predict oncoming attacks with delay. I don't think it's right or intended to have these bars set up because a player's location. In some cases people have to set up macros in order to use some of these skills properly. I don't think it's good design to force a demographic to have to rely on third party programs just so they can use a skill that should have been in their arsenal to begin with.

Please Spacecats, help put this on the table, I'm not sure if Bluehole is even aware after all this time that we have this problem. Some of these are so bad that it discounts people from being able to use a class entirely.

Notable skills effected by ping:
Archer's Rapid fire
Sorc's flame barrage
Lancer's onslaught
Gunner's Burst fire
Ninja's burning heart and fire avalanche

These skills are all substantial chunks of these classes dps. If I missed a few please help me fill these in. These attacks don't have to change fundamentally in power or function but there has to be a way to make it consistent through ping.

Lancer also has Shield Barrage (Multi use like RF, etc), and Spring Attack combo time is unforgiving
Priest has Triple Nemesis (Multi use) and the combo time for Final Reprisal, even less forgiving then Spring Attack
Brawler has desyncs on Growing Fury randomly not blocking and abilities like Haymaker going through bosses
Dashes/Charges in general can desync such as Ninja's jagged path
Then there's auto attacks in general which is a bit of an issue for certain classes that actually do use them, they are very slow and a couple have glitches (Ninja, Reaper)

    Just some others really quickly.

  • sorc's lightning strike and arcane pulse charge can be greatly affected by ping too
  • and everything about warrior
  • That's adorable.
How about no, cuz koreans don't care and instead of fixing old classes they just release more and more broken and op classes.
  • lancer onslaught
  • lock-on skills and chains for speedcast... i don't think there's a way to fix these unless you want to scrap the skills all together...

for the classes that utilize rapidfire skills there's definitely room for improvements to make it equal ground for everyone playing...
  • everyone on ktera has low ping, so to expect them to cater to high ping players is a bit outlandish. especially since the people with high ping usually ain't spending money on anything.
  • Backstep(sometimes jaunt) + high ping... disaster lol fly around the screen
  • Priest Final reprisal pleaseeeeeeeee :(:(:(

NA doesn't have the luxury of playing with low ping. "High" on tera isn't just 300 ping, the game has noticeable issues even before reaching 100 ping and ~150 ping is possible even if you live in NA anyways. Low NA ping ~35 is considered high ping to Koreans.
  • They won't do [filtered], good luck.
    Move closer to Chicago.

Believe, @LancerJiva lives close to chicago.
    Their ping still have issues.

Living close to Chicago won't do anything if EME has potato servers and connection, which they do. It's on them.
  • actually its ur ISP too
  • If you have high ping and it's not their issue (Seriously, fix the lag spikes though), they don't have to do anything about it. This game is NA based and they can't afford to cater to everyone if people that login from the other side of the world have ping issues. Internet speeds aren't that advanced yet that allow everyone to connect anywhere instantly.
  • Thanks for the replies!

I know ping is impossible to fix, the idea is to start with ways to minimize the effect ping has on standalone skills, which should be possible by fundamentally changing how the skill itself works, such as removing the movement from onslaught will fix the skill.

Oh I guess we should just sit there and do nothing.

West coast people get around 100-150 ping depending on ISP. People in NA are having ping issues. It's playable but knowing some skills are unreliable even at those general latency is pretty bad.

I could argue that the mass appeal this game has to people in places such as the EU, AUS, NZ, CA and BR is very beneficial to TERA as a whole. It might be in BHS's best interest to minimize the frustration they have to put up with in order to play this game. Remember, the life blood of an MMO is the player base.

We never officially complained about this issue. Players for years just let it stay in the realm of "that's how it is". Maybe we can at least get a reply this time before giving up and just accepting it.
