Request (please read and see if this is feasible)

Firstly this is not for new players to read cos you probably won't understand what i'm saying at all.

Since attack animation is directly related to your ping (which i really dont understand why as tera is the first mmorpg with this correlation)
i would like to request that tera somehow adjust your attack speed according to your average ping.

for high ping players, they already have the delayed action disadvantage, but combine it together with slow animation disadvantage is too much.

etc: from what i see, a 90 ping reaper with 20++ attack speed would probably have the same animation speed as a 230 ping reaper with 40++ attack speed or more (just an estimation, didnt really compare)

so a player with 100 average ping could have a free + 10% attack speed on his account/characters
maybe a player with 200 average ping could have a free +20% attack speed on his account/characters
or a player with 300 average ping could have a free +30% attack speed on his account/characters

there's nothing we can do about delayed actions/reaction for higher ping player but for attack animation, it still can be done.

half the tera na players are non NA.

i know this is impossible or too difficult a task for tera to implement but worth a shot speaking up for the high ping players in Tera NA which surprisingly alot are.

    atack speed dont fix lag problem, only animation part, atack speed dont work for the same way for all clases ( like lancer or mistics ) , if you want more atack speed use doble energetic/9/4.5/2.5 % atack speed in your gear

    higher ping dont increase the animation time (unless is multiple input skill less than 3% of the skills) but increase the delay between each skill

    The better way to solve is a skill queue (since it is action combat max queue of 1 skill). High ping is always cast aside in MMOs because these games assume players are near the region.
  • The game uses client side prediction (also called multiplayer interpolation) I do not play reaper and it is possible that it is broken for this class.
    But the game already queues skills (for most classes) it would be unplayable otherwise.
    If it is somehow broken for reaper then you should be asking EME/BHS to fix it.

    An excellent video was produced some time ago explaining the process and was actually commissioned by EME to explain how they are able to have real action combat or something in their game. I couldn't find it though, maybe someone has a link.
  • I remember reading that before. It was how BHS faked the physic interaction in Tera without having a physic engine, thus it was based on fixed delays after server received your input (as in, from the input until < X ms, the skill will interact with target in this range, but after X ms passed, the skill will interact with target in another range). It was in the core coding for almost everything in Tera, so they can't just fix them all together without recoding everything. If too many people complain about one skill and it became a big problem then they might decide to recode that skill alone (like teleport rubberbanding).

    I still think they can easily fix some chaining problems by extending the period allowed (ie, warrior blade draw chaining after block).

    Why should bad ping players be rewarded with increased attack speed?! Common sense would reward good ping players!
  • If not attack speed then how about a 1% damage boost for every 10 ping. So for a 100 ping player would get 10% damage boost as a passive :)

  • The duration you can chain next skill for faster cast scales down with higher attack speed, thus you will get even less time to chain.
  • Simply put, the game is NA based, if you have high ping because you play outside of NA, they are not required to do anything to supplement that. That's your own problem and your own decision to play with such a high ping.
  • They probably should fix lag spike first, personally canceled my elite.

    Before i had 100-110, now its 115-137-150 and maybe every minutes, ping jump to 250-500. (I have 1gb connection)

    Its like :o its smooth, wait slow motion o.o ? Ho no its smooth oO or not... slow motion... maybe im playing matrix online :o

    Why should i pay something i cant play ?
    Till EME changed office, there is lag spike. EME, are u planning something for this ?
