    Gear nowadays is an indicator of how much gold/materials you had anyways. The core determination of your performance is skill and practice. I mean, if you compare just Starfall+15 players, the dps differential between a top-of-the-line player and an "okay" player is likely over 50%, if not double. That's more than the difference between Dreadnaught and Imperator+15.

    Let the casuals have their gear.

    yeah, but back in vm1 days it was not nearly as big of an upgrade it is today. Vm gear shouldn't be like a 25% dps increase from the 2nd BiS, but rather like a 6-8%. That is how it used to be when it was legit hard to make VM. I agree gear should be harder to get, but not when people already have starfall 15 going into this patch which is vastly better than slaughter. The solution to this problem is not a simple "make the drop rates lower" and I don't see how so many people miss that point.

    It's funny how poorly you understand the situation. What this means is that the people sitting on millions of gold will buy their designs off of the broker, while the people without the gold will be stuck grinding dungeons for months only to never even get the designs they need.

    That's exactly how the VM1 days were, except back then stuff like the Warrior Twinswords designs would sell for like 2 million gold instead of the several hundred thousand that designs are selling for now. Like personally I like the idea of going back to a style of VM that just isn't handed to you but not when +15 is around.

    I personally have a vm7 sword, and I've seen the design for zerker, sorc, gunner, reaper, warrior and ninja. And seeing as we haven't been able to spam WH for them because of IRS being broken, you should see an increase in drops soon when people can run it more.

    Also I'd like to mention that part of the reason why I didn't mind the designs for VM1 was that MC/AC was the main content patch for an entire calendar year, with only alliance/KN raids being added during it's lifespan. But VM1 remained the best gearset throughout. The fact that they changed this system makes me believe that this current content patch cycle is going to be remaining for a bit longer than the last few, which is why they'd make BiS VM harder to get.

    It really is just like the Vm1 days!

    How long until people make a business of crafting VM7 on MT and then +15ing and liberating it to transfer it off to CH and sell for jacked up prices?

    I am from MT, and while I can't promise all that I have seen were from MT, I know at least the Slayer, Reaper, Ninja, Warrior, Zerker and Sorc ones were dropped on MT for a fact. If people are taking them from your server, that points slightly towards overpricing the design, making it so people on your own servers can't even buy it :/

    RNG drop of the design doesn't add any element of challenge to getting the item, just grind and luck. Wanting VM designs to be hard to get just to keep them exclusive so you can show off is some of the worst elitist bs I've seen from this community in awhile. For shame.
