Will Tera ever update it's Character Creator

I mean, Tera probably has the worst character creation from all "bigger" F2P MMOs. Even Archeage updated their Character Creation a while ago.

    I see troll replies from that person for all threads. anyway back to topic, I hope so, it could really get an update, it is obsolete and in MMO character creation is very important, Specially with newcomers like DBO and BnS having good character selection. But most likely it won't happen anytime soon

    More like it won't happen never.

    Anyways is not really that important, there are game with even less designs options on character creation than Tera.

    You're way too deluded to even be aware of the issues that plague TERA. The game is from 2011, there are many things they could've easily fixed by now, what makes you think BHS will rework the character creation? Keep screaming in your echo chamber.

    I made and making threads about those issues, but when someone makes a thread like this I have a decency and don't start with HAHAHAHAHAHAA.

    BHS is something, Toxic community something else.

    i was just thinking of this. if im thinking correctly, ktera already has a few extra choices for female high elf that we dont (castanic-like without the horns). im happy weve been getting some new choices with ninja and glavier but itd be nice to add a few here and there.

    BHS doesn't really update old systems all that often, and when they do it's in a fairly minor way. Character creation mostly only got updates with new class releases, where additional options are added that go with the new class. I don't think BHS ever plans on "modernizing" Tera and it will probably remain a bit "old" for quite some time.

    It has always bugged me this topic. If you look closely in game, there are some NPCs with body types that cannot be recreated. Modern mmos usually, and it has kind of become a norm, give players a full body customization, from the hair to how long your legs are, kind of like in BnS and ESO. BDO took it to the highest extreme possible and created probably the most complete character customization ever seen in any mmo, but too many options can be overwhelming.

    When TERA launched, i honestly thought human males could get the option to be fat, like some NPCs are, instead of hulk looking. Same for females instead of looking like supermodels. Amani male is the other race i see around that has NPCs with a different body type. One can think why BHS never thought of adding a full body customization on a game that clearly can make full use of it. Nowadays, character creation has to be entangling. It is the first thing you do before jumping into the game and can spend hours customizing your character to be unique. I think TERA did really good on this part, but ultimately kinda disappointed when it was only limited to the head.

    I am sure if, and only if a miracle happens, BHS decide to update the character customization to add a full body customization, we could see an influx of new players, cause who doesn't like a deep character customization in nowadays mmos anyways.

    Something simple I'd really appreciate is if they'd update the vanilla/reaper hair textures to go with the newer ones.

    BDO is going a bit overboard. There are people who rebuild Michael Jackson or other Celebrities. That's nice and all, but keep in mind that the Dev team has to invest a huge amount of manpower, time, money into this.

    Of course it would be nice to have Elins the size of Miss Catatonic and I know that all men like to be 3m with shoulders like a truck. Western target group does not dig that K-Pop half-male High Elf style.

    I guess the limiting factor may be the game engine after all. I can't imagine it to be technical possible to implement the same character creation like in BDO.

    I haven't a clue what BHS has in plans for the future. But there is no reason why they couldn't improve the character creator. Easiest thing they could first implement would be an option to save a preset after you create a character to make it faster to make little changes and then save your settings instead of relying on screenshots to do.

    Second step would be to let people mix and match parts better. Like with Elins letting people choose the type of ears they have and the type of tails. Or with castanics the horns. No reason this would be complicated to do. I laugh when people think it will never happen because it would be an easier thing to do then rework the game code for optimization, which could happen also since i heard the korean version runs a bit better so there is improvement to be made on the NA version.

    Just adding some simple swap options and preset options would be an afternoons work and probably would make them a lot of money in people buying appearance change vouchers for people to re-edit their characters. They could even add some more skin tones, thats so easy to do as well.

    Character creation gets updated every time a new class is released.

    It's unlikely the game will ever get an update centered around quality of life changes or character creation outside of a new hairstyle or low quality retexture for a faceset. I'm hoping, and I say hoping, because it probably never happen but... They separate the tails and ears of elin hairs and allow for more complex character building, as well moving around the Castanic's horns too. I've wanted to use the short hair that came with the reaper update but with the bunny ears from the ninja update but nah can't do that.

    Nope you're stuck with what tera has to offer this game never fixes it's problems and it's silly to think it will change otherwise.
