EASY "New" content!

For an mmorpg there is always the struggle to create new content to keep people playing.

But one untapped potential are the various lower level zones. That is already a lot of content, it is simply uninteresting for endgame.
Which means there is no point to do it once you reach lvl 65 and so you only do the instances and other new content, but old zones are always irrelevant unless you create a new character.

An easy and cost efficient way to add more endgame content to the game would be to create a feature for doing old zones at lvl 65, with enemies powered up accordingly and dropping appropriate rewards.

Endgame players could enjoy the large part of the game they have left behind forever (at the moment) again and unlike creating entirely new content, just revamping zones like this is really easy for the developers.

Now add a few new bosses or Bams or something per zone and a few powerful drops and there is a large incentive to play this feature.

During quests you are in an instance of the zone already, so it should be easy to add special quests for parties that simply use an old zone instead of a new dungeon, this way you can turn an old, boring zone into an exciting and fun new instance that will keep people entertained and playing for a while without having to create new environments, ais or more than a handful new models.

  • Wow this is a great idea! There are tons of unused low lvl zones that could be revamped into lvl 65 farming areas. I'm talking about: Fey Forest, Valley of Titans, Frost Reach, Baldera, Selieewood, Bastion; they could just add a system similar to the old faction dailies in these zones, that would be so cool!
  • I'm going to have to agree with this one. It's logical.
  • reminds me of GW2 where ur lv is adjusted when entering a zone.

I've suggested something similar so many times over the half of last decade (unnerfed nightmare versions of bams scaling stats to who first hit them or highest lvl/ilvl in party and some variations of that).

Guess where are we today ?

Also note that now it would overally require: bringing back drops in game, removing stupid daily constraints and generally moving back to more common sense design from 2012 comapred to what we have now.

I would appreciate that. it seems like a reasonable, well-thought-out idea.
