Mass PvP guide?

I can't seem to find one, anyone know of one that is good? I was explaining old GvG tactics in another thread and was thinking about making a guide cause im bored. I figure it would help people out with pvp in general, most people in battlegrounds just see red and zerg to objectives. There's more to tera pvp than just spamming skills, each class has their role and most people are like sheep in Cs and FWC unable to do anything without their leaders calls.

In mass PvP there are a bunch of things to consider. for one communication is essential. In a gvg of larger scale say a 20v20 or 40v40 or any short of thing like that. You cannot rely on guild chat to be able to communicate your orders and execute them well. There is too much chaos too many things happening too fastly and too much pressure that typing becomes almost impossible.. or at the very least extremely inconvenient.

For you to type them out. So I would suggest getting a discord, Teamspeak or whatever other form of voice communication people use to be able to give orders or call out things. There's alot that goes into this that I'll not explain here.

2nd off compositions in the case of large masses of warfare you should always be sure to have alot of healers supplied to your side if not that many healers then a strong Frontline of brawlers,Lancers followed by a backline consisting of more squishy players who are going to be doing the killing and peeling.

Gunners in terms of gvg are excellent for getting kills having 6 or 5 of them firing Balder's from a 40m distance painting the field with red lines in unexpected or hard to dodge patterns while your front line CCS locks and holds targets in place for your back line to go in push forward split the enemy kill their healers and so on is essential.

Gear is also essential in gvg. In 1v1 you can get away with not having the best of things however in battles that consist of more players it's about endurance and tactics. The better gear you have the more survivability you will have the better survivability you have the more damage healing or controlling you can do.

It's always important in these to focus on either the weaker armored players or focus on the healers and kill them as fast as possible or at the very least keep them busy. Having gear makes you less of a burden to your teamates, gives you the ability to survive. And help out. It also makes you more of a problem to deal with then just having some +15* bad [filtered] walk in shoot you down giving your enemy a kill and potentially turning the tide of battle. In battles of numbers.even if someone has more the battle can be turned by high skilled and strongly geared players who know what they are doing. Compared to the seven more or ten more fodder players who are basically the equivalent of a imperial guardsmen.

Positioning is also a key thing for massive battles, where you are positioned how you are positioned matters greatly. For example if you're fight an uphill battle you will start to desync alot more then your enemy who is fighting down the hill. Where your healers are how you position them how your DPS AR repositioned are they spread four or are they too focused in the center of everything making it easy to focus them down and kill them one by one till all that is left is killing the survivors? Things that are important to know.

Who you focus, how you focus them, so you have the ability to get people in behind? Do you have the ability to gather them up stunned in one place or can you cut them off from their healers giving you ample time to kill their dps? All this depends on your players skill vs their players skill, your comp vs their comp, your gear vs Thier gear and how well everyone you have works together vs their ability to coordinate. Skilled players are not lone wolves.

Just because a person has mastered 1v1 does not mean you have mastered how to play your class for group PvP. In 20v20 or 40v40 battles differ drastically they are long, they are grueling and by the time it's finished. either (A) everyone will be up and alive ready to go hunt down the enemy the enemy will have retreated has scattered and is trying to regroup so pick them off while you can as a full raid before they do regorup to wekane Thier resolve for the next battle.. (B) everyone will be dead minus the few who manage to get away. You will have scattered are trying to regroup and need to do so immediately. There are some in betweens for these scenarios but mostly it winds up in scenario A or scenario B. Not much other then that.
  • Thanks for taking the time to type out that long response i'm glad others are interested in large scale fight concepts as well. That was a pretty good board description of important things to look out for during a big fight. It's definitely worth the read to anyone else who is interested. Im probably going to type one up myself look forward to it.

I will probably type out a full guide and put it in the PvP section. May take a bit to edit and complete however.

Why don't you two work together on it? <w<
Both seem to be interested and im actually looking foward to see how it will look like taking how comps and strategies are something that you cant really predict in big fights.
