so lets destroy what is still worth something because consumables are worth [filtered]?
Stop with This events oh god this events destroy the economy and broker prices so much nothing is worth on broker anymore, only the dragons and innerwear is still worth something...
so lets not destroy them too..
strongbox keys are still worth
Takes more than playing one hour per day to get that.
I agree that if someone dont have ambush by now then they dont deserve it.
Even new ppl (3-4 months okd accounts) with some dedication in the game could make enought gold to buy at least ambush boxes.
you just made your whole argument invalid with this statement.
Also I seem to be confused as to why people are mentioning anything to do with VM gear here. Strongbox events don't drop VM mats and never have to my knowledge since I started playing TERA. Even Kyra's event strayed away from dropping VM boxes (even though they did drop the +15 scrolls). People that don't have VM gear at this point, haven't put any effort into getting it.
I feel people are misconstruing this as another "give me free stuff" event. That's not what I intended when I made this post. With every new class, and ever new VM gearset, EME has been pretty good about having strongbox events around the time frame. With or without support of the article in the forum, I still forsee EME doing this event for a couple reasons. Reason 1 being that they make money off of strongbox keys during the event and reason 2 being, with every new VM and class release, they bring back players who have to get the new gear, enchant it, and want to put dyads in their new gear, so they satisfy them, make them stay longer, and are more likely to make money off of them until they leave again.
So just to echo my points:
1. Strongbox events won't ruin the economy- especially any further than it is at the moment.
2. Strongbox events have nothing to do with free VM and don't drop VM materials
3. This is the only event that is possible right now given the state of the in game economy- (besides rootstock and alike)
4. Its still probably going to happen
PS: Given the state of the price of keys, EMP, and lootboxes, you can make more Alkahest and Spellbind from the lootboxes than you could chancing strongbox keys on strongboxes for the jackpot- unless you are super lucky blessed by RNGesus himself. I know many of you will still argue about this but, it is what it is.
Also, thank you @ikiteforfree , I was wrong in those numbers. The most recent strongbox events gave a high enchanting material jackpot of 2000 premium alkahest and 2000 tier 11 feedstock. It's still not gamebreaking, but thank you for bringing it to my attention. I wouldn't say it made the rest of the argument invalid though.
You claim that key events never broke the economy, yet MWA went from 60g to 20-30g from key events and the already accessible ways of farming MWA. Now its down to 10g because we keep getting events that pumps out more alkahest mid patch when no one uses it. I personally have over 100k mwa in my bank not being used, and it keeps increasing because i keep getting free mwa from events and dailies
Theres absolutely no reason at all to host another key event at this time. Smart dyads? Why do we have to have hundreds of them in our bank at all times. Its a cheat item to get a dyad you want, i again personally have 90 of them in my bank from the last neon mongo event that gave any player that tried a little bit 100 of them.
Why do you want a broken economy in this game?
So you're saying that because a few "elites" like yourselves have hoards of [filtered] saved up that there shouldn't be another event because the price of the stuff you have saved is low right now? See that's partially what is wrong with the community. I understand wanting to capitalize an the goods you have and that's fine. However I see this way too often, people like yourselves are the ones that complain that TERA is [filtered] and the community is dead and the playerbase is dead and yada yada yada and don't ever do anything to improve the community. Right now you need to be the change you want to see in the community. You say that the price has dropped down so much but you fail to realize that the reason its up so high to begin with is because players like yourselves force the price up. Enchanting material is already starting to rise because players like yourselves have bought cheap and are selling high. Personally, I have no problem with a reasonable profit, but many of you push the price too far and it makes newer players have a huge gap to overcome to actually get to the endgame at endgame.
A broken economy has its benefits. People who are newer and haven't played from day one finally have a little lube to help get them to the actual endgame.
There is nothing wrong with a broken economy from time to time.
Also the reason why prices of alkahest and spellbind dropped wasn't because of the strongbox events- it was due to the insane amount of alkahest and spellbind in the new lootboxes. That's why feedstock didn't really tank until mongos (I'll explain for those that don't understand: because feedstock doesn't drop from lootboxes).
Those 100k mwa was leftover from neon mongos and earlier TAR days. I never specified i had tons of keys, i have 200.
The economy is already broken to the point where a player thats been playing for a month or two can gear out in +15 ambush, and the game is dumbed down enough to where they would be able to get good enough at their class to farm their behemoth pieces.
If you think stuff is hard or expensive on our client, take a look at other versions of the game and do a simple comparison. Theres not a single thing in our version that we desperately need. Feedstock is at an all time low at 10g a piece for t11, mwa as mentioned is 10g, spellbind just as cheap, blessed enigmatics are so cheap its more worth vendoring MES to buy them from the broker because kyras ruined the prices for them.
I'm not a new player. Then again I wasn't around for the glory days. I started with the gunner. I try to look at the whole situation without a bias, but I feel like the community doesn't really do a lot to help the new playerbase. I believe in being part of the change you want to see in the community.
However to just kind of hit on what you wrote:
1. You presumed I was new.
2. You said I only saw things from my point of view.
3. You said I complain because the situation is indifferent to me and that I gain something out of it.
None of these are true. However I GREATLY appreciate you putting words in my mouth. Thanks friend. Stay classy.
It's not necessary right now. There will be an event when valkyrie / moondancer is released.
If you missed Kyra's and mongos, sucks. Maybe ask a guildie for some freebies, if they are hoarding, when to need to upgrade your gear. If you queue up with them regularly they will likely help so the runs are faster anyways (it's for their benefit that way).
But a little break from events is necessary. They should be fun rewards, not "EME you suck, gimme me free stuff NAO!"
Well not to down your comment because I appreciate that you included advice for those that may be reading, but the original post clearly stated that this wasn't about the server outages. However, I feel like if this got implemented at all, it would, in-fact be after the new class release. Now isn't the time but it will probably happen sometime after new class like you said.
