Gamepad user, which class is easiest to play?
Greetings all, I'm trying to figure out which class to play. I know Kb+M is superior, but due to issues with my hands that's not an option. I enjoy tanking, but if that's too hard on a gamepad then I'll settle for healing and if that's too hard then I'll settle for dps.
Thank you for your help.

mystic. I use a game controller and I found mystic to be the easiest to play. you can do good dps with mystic and heal yourself too.5 -

I don't even use half of them. once you chain your skills on the controller, all you have to do most of the time is press your jump button like space bar.5 -
titanic favour, boomerang, totem, volley of curses and teleport jaunt, some red orbs/life thrall every now and then and maybe corruption ring for soaking dmg & giving some extra mp to ppl who need it. that's about it.5

Brawler should be good too, and it's a tank. It only has 6 main 'rotation' skills (roundhouse, pile, jackhammer, haymaker, ground pounder and counter punch). 1 more button for basic block, 1 for only iframe. 1 more for rampage only if you lose GF.
Skills that you won't use that often: autoattack if you need filler/reposition, bullrush, GF activation, Infuriate, rage regen, auto-heal. Not bad compared to other classes.5 -

Play Mystic with a game pad if you want to be mediocre. It has an extremely high number of skills, perhaps the most of any class. I would suggest Reaper or Slayer. Even without spacebar their skills are limited.5 -

mystic doesn't need potions or anything. I switched to mystic after they removed camp fires and potions. basically when they made alchemy obsolete and made you have to spend gold buying their potions. and I liked my brawler and ninja too but I love my mystic.
I have always used a controller for this game, for four years now. I have played every class except for beserker. I used to main archer but the flavor of the month classes made my archer hard to compete with them. I know recently they kinda buffed archer, but how long will that last. we have a new flavor of the month coming out soon ( one they cant make up their mind what to call it ) and it will be op. to me it looks slow like slayer and bezerkers. but don't take our word for it, give them all a try and decide for yourself. you may wind up thinking different than us. after all , its a free to play game, and not costing us anything but our time. so enjoy and have fun.5 -

you can get a feel of the class around level 20 and know if you will like it or not. if they move too slow for your liking or if you have a hard time killing mobs or bams. if you are having a hard time with a class at level 20, it will be worse at level 65 trying to kill the island of dawn bams.5 -

just no, as some1 who has 'caught them all' i can say excepting a few classes( like zerk, ninja, gunner?) for most of them u have no idea how they work till u get to high lvls, especially if u only go as far as 20, for example
-> Slayer only gets his first 'endgame-useful' move at 36 and the rest at 60+, playing it at 20 is all sorts of slow & clunky & animation locked (all ur using is mostly fillers zZzZ), at 65 pretty much everything u do will be chained from something else, increasing speed dramatically and just 'flowing' a lot better.
-> As a Warrior u dont realize ur true purpose in life (building edge) untill 60.
-> If u do BoL as an archer and call it a day u'll think archer is a ranged zerk who only cares about charging skills, wrong again.
and so on...6 -
more or less, at high lvls mystic gets.. options. Untill like the high 50s all u have in dungeons is dropping balls and locking heals on ppl (ow yh, and making sure u stand less than 30m away from the rest of ur party so that ur auras affect them). at 58 u can get a glyph that allows u to debuff the boss with volley of curses, giving u something to do every 20 secs and the aoe regen & ur last heal skill will come shortly after too5
-
while lvling..ppl dont care, when starting your endgame career ppl dont really care either as long as u can heal them and at high tier its generally dual heal, so u get one of each anyway...
Since always priest has been seen more like the 'defensive' healer, who have an easier time carrying noob/learning parties with their barriers & whole arsenal of different heals. While mystic was seen more like the 'offensive' choice, with their double(triple if tryharding) debuffs and crit boosts, but lack of any real defence support besides cleansing, they are usually for more experienced parties that dont need to get carried by the healer.5 -

i've been playing with a laptop and touchpad since i started playing tera (laff at me i kno) and there's very few classes that i couldn't quite get comfortable with (brawler and warrior in particular)
back when i was more actively playing this game and doing the hardest content at that time (mchm and then abhm later on) i performed the best playing with a touchpad with priest and berserker-- if anything i found these classes more intuitive with a touchpad, personally. (later on gunner was released which feels incredibly comfortable no matter how you play, the class is overall very forgiving)
i mean, it's not the exact same situation you're in but just an opinion of some of the more friendly classes for folks not playing the standard way. mystic though would definitely be a contender too for not playing with a KB&M, in pve at least, i think you'd benefit from trying out both healer classes a bit to see which one sticks with you better.
and it's not out yet, but the new valkyrie class might be something you'll want to try out in the future, they have very few skills in comparison to the other classes.5 -

You can literally play with any class with a controller. I have been playing Tera for 3 years and exclusively only used a controller. I got clumsy ass hands compounded with an old injury that makes kb+m uncomfortable. But i digress, Any class that feels comfortable, you can do it.5 -

you pretty much summed up what I was trying to say, " any class that feels comfortable, you can do it", and you pretty much know around level 20 if you are comfortable with a class or not. some classes move much slower than others, some move much faster. some you can heal yourself, most you cannot(unless you use potions).
I don't choose my class according to what other people want or need, I choose a class according to how I can solo everything with. you don't need to team up with doing everything, you can solo much of the game.
if you are someone that wants to run end game stuff with others, still it is good to pick a class you enjoy playing as cause I doubt that you will want to delete that character after you hit 65 and get geared up. I know this is a mmorpg ..and playing with oters is the norm, but there are times when you will want to do things solo, and you will want to be able to play as something you like instead of what people want.
as I said before, just try them all and make your decision based on what you like. this is just a game and should be treated as such...something to enjoy and pass your free time with.5

Doesn't mystic have a lot of skills? One of my concerns is a class with too many skills for the gamepad.
I guess I'll give mystic a try. Thanks a lot.
My friend is also going to use a gamepad so I'll point him to brawler since I'm going mystic. Thank you.
Which is the easier tank?
@Keeve
If it ends up becoming too much I'll end up trying out priest.
@allofspaceandtime
I might end up just trying all classes till lvl 20. Tho I've heard you can't really grasp a class until 65.
Does mystic change much at 65?
Which healer is better at endgame? I don't want to level a mystic just to find out people would prefer priest. Also thanks to everyone who took the time out to respond and give helpful info.
