    while lvling..ppl dont care,when starting your endgame career ppl dont really care either as long as u can heal them and at high tier its generally dual heal, so u get one of each anyway...

    Since always priest has been seen more like the 'defensive' healer, who have an easier time carrying noob/learning parties with their barriers & whole arsenal of different heals. While mystic was seen more like the 'offensive' choice, with their double(triple if tryharding) debuffs and crit boosts, but lack of any real defence support besides cleansing, they are usually for more experienced parties that dont need to get carried by the healer.

    Mystic sounds a lot more fun. Now if only I could find a working buddy code xD

    I tried them both and mystic just seems way more fun. It has a far more active playstyle.

    @DomsInvalid
    That's good to know, any mmo not eso or ffxiv seems to have a stigma against gamepad.

    @allofspaceandtime
    I was surprised at how easy mystic can solo things. Usually healers cant fend for themselves at all.

    I played with a Gamepad ever since i started TERA and played every class to level 65 and did atleast medium tier dungeons or high tier dungeons with them. and im doing pretty good according to DPS meters and other people.

    All of the classes are well playable with a gamepad, with all the button combinations on the gamepad u have enough room for your skills, because you wont need all ofcthem anyways, atleast in PVE. Just place the skills right, for example charging skills on a button where u can still run around freely and move ur cursor.

    the biggest issue might be turning ur camera. even with 100% camera speed its slower than with mouse. this can lead to problems during fast mechanics in hard mode dungeons. example : color mechanic in RMHM first boss with brawler. but even tho its harder its still doable. and its no issue in normal mode dungeons. But this is also a reason why i dont think healers are the easiest or best choice to start with.

    Its not really that mystic is good its just that low lvl content is simply weak, pretty much any class can destroy anything until lvl 60+ content with just autoattacking, cuz uk.. why slowly teach ppl that using skills is the way to go? we can just let them hit their heads against the wall when they reach 65 and suddenly keeping your autoattack pressed until the enemy is dead(all they've been doing for the past 65 lvls) not only doesnt work anymore but actually gets you killed
  • The assumption that playing with a pad makes you a mediocre player is incorrect IMO. I main priest on an Xbox 360 controller. Because of how I have things set up, it's actually very efficient: each bumper modifier yields a different classification of skills. Anything that I couldn't fit on the pad is easily accessible via a shortcut on the keyboard; mainly infrequent use things like Resurrect, Plague, Arise, etc.

    I also play Lancer on a pad and have no trouble whatsoever; again, you just need to set it up in such a way that makes sense.

    The only class I had trouble playing on a pad was Archer, so I would say play with a mouse on that class.
  • Reapers for sure
    I want to meet more reapers just using chainskill
  • I play all classes with controller.
    Hardest being Lancer and Archer, but easiest being Healers, Sorcerer, and Gunner.

    The only issues with Mystic / Sorcerer is that they have so many skills. But with a gamepad, you can access every single one of the skills you can map, you just have to know how. There's some hidden key maps to access through your controller. For instance, holding R1 or L1 and pressing a direction on the gaming pad lets you access the last 6 skill slots on the upper right hand side of the tray.

    Classes where you need precise aiming is harder to play, making Lancers, Archers, and sometimes Reaper a struggle. I've played tons of Berserker on controller though, and I'm used to it, and you don't have to aim as much as you do with Archer, so it's doable.

    Really? I found the opposite, and I've been playing pad for the past 3 years (the WW patch was about 3 years ago, right?). Lancers feel almost braindead to me; ninja, reapers, and slayers doubly so. Playing priest is a little wonky, but I've managed to make it work (I sometimes forget to change the camera style though). Playing warrior and brawler makes my hands hurt. :pleased:

    Sorc and archer felt... odd, and so far those are the only classes where I felt like I was limiting myself playing pad (also didn't help that I didn't like those classes). Same with gunner, but that was nothing an increase in camera speed couldn't fix. Haven't tried mystic yet, and honestly have no intention to.

    I'm digressing. Playing pad may not be the best solution, but it's more than manageable so long as you sit down and take the time to make sure everything works properly (skill placement, activation, and so on).
  • Never tried dps or tank on gamepad but Zerker looks to be a good choice as dps also.

    Out of the 3 tanks (the other 2 being war / brawler), Lancer has the easiest job tanking / holding aggro where the other two rely on high dps for aggro though your goal is still to deal as much damage as possible.

    Mystic might be easier than priest when it comes to a controller due to less lock-on heals focusing more on boomerang / [filtered] for self-cleanse.

    As for dps I'm not entirely sure what would be easiest with a controller. Zerk or Archer perhaps?

    Personally I think you should just play whatever you find interesting. I had a friend who was better than me at warrior and he played on a controller so I'm sure anything is possible if that's what you're used to.
