so sad.
I really should just sell them on broker.
thats lucky
Smart Dyads are good.
This.
Strongbox Key prices initially shot up, as the people who weren't prepared for the event, scrambled to get some keys. They jumped from 850 gold to 1500++
Half a day later, and the keys are down to 980 gold, as everyone quickly realized that the jackpot chances this time around, isn't worth the investment.
When the jackpot event isn't even worth participating in, with non-event strongbox key prices, you've f***ed up, EME.

I'm weeping on the inside.
As much as I detest the whole "COMPENSATION COMPENSATION!" mentality, this time around if we don't see any kind of correction for the event (this is straight up a scam, as the news post encourages buying keys for $$$ through the store) or actual compensation for people like Shamumu (1k+ openings jesus f***ing christ), you can bet that the uproar will be large enough to make stockholders uneasy, so from a marketing PoV, you'd best light a fire under someone's [filtered] and fix this.
Keys are sold between 95 EMP (single) and 53.9 EMP (bulk of 50) through the store.
EMP is sold between 1000 EMP (10$ - 100 EMP per $) and 12000 EMP (100$ - 120 EMP per $)
This means keys are worth between 95c (most expensive, single keys) and ~45c (cheapest, bulk price) each.
Shamumu opened 1170 boxes (870 proven) which has a TERA store value between 526.5$ and 1111.5$ (391.5$ to 826.5$ proven)
AAaaaaaaabsolutely f***ing unacceptable.
but nobody is forcing him to open them lol
I bet you're fun at parties lol
No of course nobody is forcing me to open strongboxes I understand that. In a way I'm actually genuinely fascinated by this whole experiment. I never said that I was being forced or co-erced but I opened that many under the impression that I would have a better chance at winning some sort of prize. Obviously general statistical knowledge would tell me that the more boxes I open, the more chances I have at winning something, so with each additional box that I open, the chances of NOT winning something on the next box technically decrease. To clarify the situation, 1100 of the keys were gained from the reward credit store. The remaining 70 were purchased.
Btw I have another video of a further 220 keys if anybody is interested in more torture. (I actually assumed that if I spent some actual $$$$$ on the keys I'd have a better chance but no dice!)
Here is the second video! https://youtu.be/uKfN84Vilm8
That's appalling the amount of keys used and got nothing in return, glad i saved mine for a better event! Sucks that happened to ya Shamu!
If you don't have 100% to get something from a lotery (strong box) then you could open 100k and get only spellbinds.
If you can accept that thing can happen then is your fault for being naive.
Your bad luck has don't decide if an event is good or not, even kyras could give you 35 spellbinds for 5 catalyst (325 EMP if you bought them) and ppl who complain for something that is "free" to obtain in game (sea chest, emporium, calendar reward) are only being ungrateful and showing being greedy.
Edit: We need more strongbox events like this. Keys are over priced and they should cost no more than 400 gold.
I really feel bad for those who spend gols on chest in broker as I do for those who spend gold on keys.
1) I accept that the chances of getting a prize are NOT 100% but i ALSO do NOT accept that the chances are 0% so please explain to me how I'm 'naive' for thinking that it is POSSIBLE to win a prize, irrespective of how small the chance.
2) Did i say that the event was bad? If I thought that the event was 'bad' then I wouldn't be trying to win a prize from the strongboxes.I simply made this video to show video evidence of MY PERSONAL experience with this event. Even if I thought that the 'event is bad' how does that in any way detract from my opinion of the event. If you deem my opinion on the value of the event to be inadmissible then you are inadvertently dismissing every OTHER person's opinion in this thread and others as being irrelevant.
3) If you had actually read the posts properly, you will see that i CLARIFIED that i obtained 1100 keys from the reward emporium and 380 directly from the cash shop. It costs 2695 reward credit points to obtain 50 keys; this would mean that I have used 59,290 reward credits. These were quite clearly NOT obtained from 'free stuff' as you claim, since no amount of free stream codes since the LAST strongbox event would account for over 50K of reward points. I obtained these are rewards for spending REAL MONEY in the cash shop. A fact which you have actually NEGLECTED TO MENTION ENTIRELY when it comes to 'buying keys'. Please don't just openly accuse people of ingratitude and greed when they have made monetary contributions in order to gain those reward credits.
4) You said " I really feel bad for those who spend gold on chest in broker as I do for those who spend gold on keys" and you also said "ppl who complain for something that is "free" to obtain in game (sea chest, emporium, calendar reward) are only being ungrateful and showing being greedy". Need I remind you that GOLD is actually also 'free' in the game? So, you're saying if you get a key from a sea chest, it's free and you're greedy if you complain, but if people buy sea chests to get keys, you feel sorry for them. WHAT?
1) Then if you buy 50% of the lotery tickets and dont get the best price are you going to complain? You are naive.
2) You are whining for not being able to hit the jack pot. Opening a strongbox won't garantue that and opening 1k of them in a go wont make your chances higher than the first try on each turn. Every time you try to open a box you have the same chances to get the stuff in the loot list. If jack pot was 50% to be able to obtain you can even open 1k of strong boxes and not wining at all becuase is not 100%.
3) You spend money on something that you know you wont get 100% chances of getting the best price and are complaining, that is the real issue of your post. You could spend 1 million dollars on those and not get the jackpot and whining will show how can't you accept your own failure.
4) Yeah, I fell sorry for them and you. EME has already gave free lots of mats and cosmetics in this season and ppl greed wont be satisfied. That is sad.
Sadly, I didn't get anything from my 60 keys.
It's not a lot, but in past strongbox events, it was enough to perhaps get one or two smart dyads.
I know the situation is pretty tough for EME though.
Breaking the news that the rates of getting a jackpot would be lower for this time around would probably be met with a lot of negative comments. Additionally, informing players that the rates would be lower would affect the revenue.
However, as a player I'd have appreciated it more if we were given the heads up that the rates were not the same as past strongbox events. If I were a part of the marketing team though, I'd be very upset if this sort of information was officially stated on the web article.
It's a lose-lose honestly. Perhaps the rates were lowered due to how crazy good the Kyra's event was? Who knows! All speculation.
