Easiest PvE DPS class to master?

Hey all, so I used to play tera forever ago and have recently started back. I started on a Gunner, and leveled it to 65 and got full +12 Tier 9 to start off. However, now I'm kinda looking at other classes and wondering which one I really want to main. I'm starting to have my doubts about my abilities as a gunner DPS because even though I've looked at crystal/glyph/rotation guides, I still frequently only get about 15% of my party's DPS, which is a little concerning. I like the way Gunners play, but perhaps I really only like playing them in a lazy manner. I've read a lot that Gunners typically use their default "Blast" skill in between most skills in their rotation, something I feel I commonly ignore.

Anyway, I was looking for opinions on PvE DPS classes that are "easiest" to bring to their full potential. Tell me why you think that. Any insight is appreciated!

To let you all know, I currently kinda want to try out a Reaper. I watched a video on youtube of a reaper pulling ~3m dps/sec and it appeared that he wasn't doing much more than pressing the spacebar to chain his skills... lemme know what you all think. Reapers also looked decent in PvP to me, something that isn't as important to me as PvE but definitely something I'd want to do on a main..

Anyways. thank you!

You're saying no major changes have happened since Dec 2015?
  • they are saying the new classes that keep coming out are easy lol

    it's hard to say
if you're going to be lazy regardless of what you play then you will never pull the kind of damage that you want to see
being a lazy dps is one thing but when you define your laziness on gunner as not animation cancelling with your auto attack that's literally ridiculous levels of lazy and it's no surprise your numbers would suck like that

archer is probably the easiest to master right now as in it's hard to tell apart veteran archers from people who just bandwagoned the class last patch and play it well; the performance is virtually the same. and the damage output is incredible, but it would require cancelling your animations with salvo and if you're not gonna bother to do that then yeah you might as well roll a reaper and spacebar

cute elin ninja never been OP like my 2015 december brawler and 2015 july gunner she only beat them with cuteness and clone jutsu B)

so 2015 was the best year for dps B)
  • As a Gunner yes you do want to use your auto attack between your skills; this will generate Arcane energy for Burst Fire and give you an attack speed boost. Not only that but it also cancels most of your animation lock.
This said, Gunner isn't exactly at a place where it shines these days ... it was brutally overpowered on release and ate waves and waves of nerfs, to this point where it's a bit sad ...

You should have mentioned your ping by the way, if you're low enough (less than 60) you definitely wanna give Warrior a shot. Although it's not exactly the easiest class at all, it's current top DPS, any efforts you put into it is brutally rewarding, unlike for example Gunner. You also have the option to tank with it, which is always handy if you're part of a group of friends.
Reapers aren't in a bad place in PVE, even if much less people play them nowadays, and they've always been a force to reckon with in PVP: stupid staggers, stupid attack range, stupid mobility (read "good").

If you want easy you still have Berserker and Ninja. Berserker relies on one skill to get most of their output (Thunderstrike) and Ninja is simply pressing 4 keys.

    short rotation =/= easy class
berserker has been one of the most difficult classes to play in just about every hardmode dungeon that has been released because of how difficult it is to get around mechanics with them

Agree with the concept, I'd also agree with the rest if we were several years back and if Berserker hadn't been given a dash (read a charge, not the actual Dash skill that they always had) and an additional roll. Frankly every time I'd read "Berserker slow mobility/difficult to place in the back" even back then I'd strongly disagree. This is the one class (along with Archer) that's allowed movement while they charge their skills, and they're given a Dash to make full use of it. With good timing you virtually lose 0 DPS when the boss moves, as you're charging and placing at the same time; though I see the point where it's not this "easy" to master.
  • Hands down Archer is the easiest, most braindead dps that puts out some silly numbers even undergeared.

Yeah perhaps its something I should really get better at haha, just as a noob I wasn't even aware of auto-attack animation cancelling until recently. Just out of curiosity though, is Reaper the only class who's DPS doesn't depend largely on animation cancelling??

berseker is easy to play for do damage , because berseker have simple rotacion

but evade/survible with one is a pain in the as, more for this mecanics you cant block

Archer for both skill and gear, then there's also Sorc if you gear it. Archer has no complications and animation cancelling is easy on it, and beyond that any difficulty with Archer is difficulty applied to all classes. Sorc is also straight forward, typical rotation based mage class.

until they nerf archers to death again. they seem to get the short end of the deal. they will get buffs for a bit, then get nerfed into the ground. but if you are going to be a lazy dps and try to run dungeons with people, then I don't know what to tell you. between archer and gunner, I will choose archer even with the nerfs. brawler has good dps and so does lancer. but as far as getting the most out of doing very little, roll the flavor of the month.

Archer received buffs after their nerfs, and before their revamp they weren't even at the bottom. Archer was apart of some of the fastest runs during last season. They just weren't as simple to play until the added passive and later revamp.
