Is leather/hides still a thing?

I played Tera in 2015 and recently started playing again but I've noticed I don't ever pick up hides or see any drop. Are they still a thing? if not how do you craft leather armor?

    You don't get them from enemies anymore, you get them from the materials merchants.

    Runes and leather are crafted items via alchemy. All mats are vendor bought. Might have to grind gathering and sell stuff before having the money to actually level alchemy.
