Title says all. I dont get why....

  • New accounts do get 2 character slots per server (so in principle you can have 10 per account, or you could also create additional accounts). And, well, the reason is because they sell additional character slots; it's one of the ways they monetize this F2P game.

You can buy character slots off the trade broker with gold if you don't want to spend cash on the game.

I recommend if you like the game enough to find a CD key for it. You'll get 3 additional bank tabs per server as well as 6 additional slots per server. These will automatically be unlocked so you can't sell it off or anything but it's the single best item to get if you enjoy this game. There's also elite but that's another thing that you don't seem to be directly wanting something from at this time.

    well , you play a f2p
  • Just make more accounts.
And usually when a new class emerge, they give u a extra character slot.
Anyways character slot in the trade broker was not very expensive.. At least a coupple of years ago when i bought some, they cost like 25k or something like that.

They still cost 20-25k now, which is still farmable in a short period of time.
  • So, if two is 'Only', How many slots would it be enough?
To you this is a game, to EME it is a business. Do keep that in mind that servers dont run on their own, content dont self generate, and Spacecats has bills to pay :P
  • I just started playing, and discovered I am limited to only 2 characters. Reading these posts, I have some questions:

    1) Can a player have more than one account? I thought I read in a Use Agreement that you cannot create more than one account. Will you get banned if Tera catches you with more than one account?

    2) Obtain a CD Key? How? Find another player who bought the game and use their CD key? Is that legal under the Use Agreement? Will you get banned if you use another player's CD Key after they had used it?

    3) A new character slot costs 25K? I just started, and it took me a long time just to get around 15 Gold off my 2 characters together. But a new slot costs 25,000 Gold? And it is "farmable in a short period of time"? At what level? 75?

Like I said, I just started playing, and I still have much to learn, so any info you can give me would be deeply appreciated. And with all the races and jobs available, there are many combinations to explore to find the one I like best. And I also like variety.

    Answering in sequence:

    1) They can but likely won't ban you, unless you do another account to ban-evade (say you were toxic on your other account and proceed to do the same on new one that isn't banned/restricted), or some sort of scam practice or the likes. As you seen on ToS tho, it really isn't allowed, mostly for the above mentioned.

    2) You can still probably find some old stock of non-used keys online, as I've heard the TERA box came with.... just a code or a disc that has the downloader inside it so it's beyond disappointing in the sense you don't get even a reduced download on it, but ye you get the Founders code.
One thing: No, you cannot use another player's code. Once used, it's used and not reusable. It's use once per account, same will happen if you buy it and use yourself: if you make another account, no founders.

    3) It really is 25K, and it really becomes quick enough to farm once you hit cap (Lv 65). It looks ludicrous to you now because you're not yet high level I assume, and you don't have experience with the materials market and drops you get up there.
Your other option, AKA what mEME will want you to do, is paying for those slots with real money through EMP. You just buy it from their own store and get the slots with the EMP credits you purchased. EMP comes in specific quantities only tho, you cannot spend precisely as much as a slot, you'll be left over with a bit.

Lastly: Even tho I don't really agree with the "necro" rule, even if the topic is relevant to add information or ask new stuff on it, topics about 2 months + old, shouldn't be "revived", this one is more than a year old by now so yeah it's necro.
Opening it with relevant stuff makes sense (and in my opinion should be the case frankly), but "by the norm" what you should do is opening another topic to ask it. Just... Well rules of the house.

You guys realize this is a March 2017 thread, right?
edit: since I see that poster above DID notice it. Just follow what he says. It's still great advice. And yes, in game gold in this game is MUCH easier to come than a few years ago. WHile they nerfed it, you still get a crapton of gold just from collecting floating bubbles once you reach 65....
  • Thank you for your replies and I will start a new thread when I have a question from now on. In forums I been to in the past (and, I admit, not many), they always said to add to an existing thread of the same topic instead of starting a new one on a topic thread that isn't closed, so I did it here. Sorry for the breaking of forum protocols.

No prob. In my case, almost all of the forums I've been in frown at revived old threads, called Necros. The rule is more of a community rule than a written official one, but it's usually common around modern forums.

and other forums prefer to group all the posts of same subject into only one thread about this subject, so you can have 2000 pages in the thread, so you can necro in these threads if your posts is about the thread subject :p
