Fix for long load times and screen with clouds.

If you are running Windows 10, and having this issue, where Tera takes forever to load, shows as not responding for a while, and then loads this funky screen with clouds at the top....

Disabling Windows Defender in control panel fixes it.

Hopefully EME will come up with a fix for this, bit for now, that should do the trick for you.

If you have another antivirus program, you may try disabling that as well, if Windows Defender is not the problem.

You can't just disable Windows Defender. You need to go through some edits to disable it more permanently. Also some people will just want to add it as an exception.
  • Also adding the TERA folder to your Exclusions also fixes it, so you don't have to disable Windows Defender.

Actually, you CAN just disable it, it's one click and done. However, it is better to add it to exclusions, like Catastros said.

Or just do this. Exclude the Tera folder and it'll help.

If you wanna make sure windows defender is 100% off then disable its startup service. Run > services.msc > Find windows defender > right-click properties > change startup type to disabled > reboot :)
(Only do this if you have a 3rd party anti-virus, don't want your system getting infected now do we)
  • you don't HAVE to turn Windows defender off. lol
  • You dont have to disable the windows defender.Just go to Windows defender and put Tera Folder to exceptions. It will work perfectly without disabling anything.

I did mention that some people will want to add it as an exception. Also I want you to read what this says here and then tell me again you can "just disable it"
