Any player from SEA here who has solved or at least managed to reduce their ping?

I play at 230-250ms generally. It's playable, really, no jokes. However, I still want to lower it because I get delays when playing as warrior (and it's my favorite class).

Anybody here who managed to get pings lower than what I have? What's your solution?

ISP? What speed? So I know how much do I have to upgrade of my net services.
VPN? What VPN do you use? When I use WTFast TERA won't get past the patcher, it won't even load the splash art of warrior.

230-250ms from SEA region? You should be grateful already.
I'm myself experiencing 290-310ms with constant lag spike up to 800-2k ms.

250ms is basic delay in network from SEA (where I'm from) to Chicago, NA. Any lower than that is nearly impossible.
  • I see. Thanks man!

In my own experience, even using WTFast didn't help me, nor did using any other kind of vpn software. I played on constant 230-250 ping for 1-2 years before I decided to change to the TW server. Am enjoying it rn cuz I get 60-100 ping there. Easier to play classes like warrior, lancer, archer (with rapid fire).
You can join me in playing on the TW server if you want, though the economy there is not as good as NA (high tier enchant mats are expensive af)
  • @Haloist would love to, but is the server in english? I highly doubt. I don't want to be guessing and relooking on the net the info about the items.

    Tough luck. :(
  • How I wish they'd just open a SEA server. :<

230 is already considered low for SEA region lol. I average 250-270 here and I am already glad I don't spike as often.

Unless we get a direct tunnel to US (our traceroutes are very long), we won't see a drop in ping, and even then it would be logical to think that we won't drop below 180ms.

    1) change your tracert manually or talking with your ISP
    2) check your router/VPN to get HIGH conection and put filters and priorities.
    3) never play a game through WIFI that means LAG and lag spikes, always lan
    4) dont try to modify something in windows reg, first, understand what its a tracert and how works
    5) if are you using a router, try to check if you have any difference from the modem, to router (or switch ), if you have, change the tracert again.

do that until you get nice ping and 0 packet lost

    gl.

You don't know how far we are from the server, it is way further than EU <-> NA. Our closest server is actually TW (50-80ms from Singapore) but as what @Haloist said their market is literal garbage, and the game is in Traditional Chinese, a language only Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau extensively uses today. The only realistic way to lower our ping is really to move to NA lol.
  • Very very sad indeed.
