Actually Spacecats said in stream you cant create Valk that date but the name is reserved and you can make another character with that name instead or hold off til Valk comes out and there will be a new button added on 4th for the name
Can't wait to see players getting mad for losing their names and the chance to participate at the event, after creating a random character on 4/4.
What event? We have had no announcement of any event besides the name saving.
Logic would dictate that since it looks like BHS is rolling it out everywhere nearly simultaneously, that our English NA client would be ready along with the English EU client.
Gameforge, Hangame and Destiny Development (I think that's the Russian publisher, could be wrong) have already published release dates for the Valkyrie, and they all fall within the same week.
EU is releasing it on the 4th, RU is releasing on the 5th, Japan on the 8th.
So why, exactly, would EME fall behind all the others? Considering the ingame teaser (they really did a [filtered] job with the phrasing on the name reservation) and all the other release dates, clinging to the notion that we absolutely aren't getting the patch the same week EU is, is biased.
All the compasses point North.
This reservation thing is an event that was implemented on ktera. We are getting it, but not sure about the prizes we gonna get from boxes while leveling.
It is possible that BHS has to be involved with deploying the build worldwide, so they may want to spread them out a little bit. In which case, our build could end up being scheduled for the 6th or the 11th. It is also possible that they may have encountered a bug or problem integrating with EME's backend systems that could delay it further. Or maybe it will make the 4th after all. We will see.
Any later, and people will complain like crazy because it in anyone's eyes, would be unfair for other regions (aka more than one region) to get it on the very same day, but we don't get it on the same day, and instead get it later on than everyone else. That and other games are gaining prominence and to keep ANY of their market, EME would need to release it by next week or else they will lose their market, because:
1) people will find other games to fill the gap with, end end up quitting TERA forever, or at least a few months, therefore EME loses playerbase and $$.
2) People will flat out quit the game because of lack of new content in a period of months, therefore losing more playerbase.
3) Some people will come on here and complain that everyone else got the Valkyrie patch on the same day, while we did not get the patch and still have to wait for it, when it comes down to it, I think EME will take some very, very hard blows from the community and the playerbase as a whole if they don't release it on the same day as everyone else next week.
The game is already teetering due to other games coming out, other games gaining prominence, and in general, people looking for other games to play to fill the gap, which in the end makes them loose numbers and money from the players (cause people buy stuff with real world money, you know, and I think EME forgot who gives them money and who plays their game).
Seriously to the people at EME, if you read this part, you have to remember WE the players are the ones providing for your paychecks, we are the ones playing your game that you brought over to NA, many have stuck by you through time and errors, but its time to PROVE your here for us and not just the freaking $$$, you either prove it, or we will all take our business and money elsewhere to games where you know, they actually care for the players more than the money they earn on their freaking paychecks.
We can easily stop buying things, stop playing your game, stop caring about EME and TERA and find other games to play where, again, the team proves they care for the players more than the money, you people forget, its so easy to make a game this day and age and make thousands of dollars, maybe even millions, but that doesn't keep players, that doesn't keep people interested, that doesn't keep people loyal to the game.
It takes far more than that, new content, actual communication with your players, keeping your promises, and actually making an effort to be honest with your players, and in this case, making sure we get content at the exact same time as other regions, because apparently more than one region (EU and Russia) are getting the same patch (Valkyrie patch) on the exact same day, or else your going to be sinking your ship (TERA) forever, because if this doesn't happen, we will all leave one after the other.
So I suggest EME, you think long and hard this week, because it may cost you TERA, your playerbase, your income, your jobs, and your paychecks, if everyone else gets it but we are forced to wait. At that point, if it comes to it, the only thing that can save you is Bluehole and NEXON (Yes I said it, but its the truth) Because we, as players of NA TERA, will stop paying for Elite, we will stop buying costumes, we will stop buying level 60 scrolls, we will stop buying anything from the store, because you know, we can and we will make a statement with our money, or in some cases, a few will make their own statement by never playing again.
So I suggest you heed my warning, as a MMO player who's played good games, failed games, been a alpha and beta tester for different games, been there through many ups and downs for different games including TERA... I have played MMORPG's exclusively for over 15 years and no other genre... and I have seen the capability of people speaking with their wallets, and it can either be the greatest thing ever to happen to a game, or its the games downfall to its death.
So people will either choose speaking with their wallets or they will flat out quit and not return, if you don't release it the same exact day as EU TERA and RU TERA, your going to have a mess on your hands, and I don't think you will appreciate it.
So again, I suggest you think long and hard this week EME, because it might cost you everything if other regions get it next week, but we do not.

I am sorry for the long post, but I am sick of this...
EU has their skill names out and little pictures showing each skill in action, but we here on NA still have nothing.
Both EU and RU TERA are coming out with the patch at the exact same time. Yet we have nothing and Spacecats had the gall to say we aren't getting it on the 4th.
We have no event spoilers, we have no page for the new class, we have nothing what-so-ever other than we know we are getting character slot coupon if we haven't reached max character slots on the server we play on and made the name reservation on.
What is with you EME?
My bad on the JP release, I mistook their pre-release event in Akihabara for the release date because of this picture.
As for the EU vs. US thing, having played both versions and a lot of mmo emulation experience, I don't see much of a reason for the builds not to be ready somewhat simultaneously.
The clients are similar, but the builds are different as there are a number of different customizations in the NA build, and the backend systems (auth, store, etc.) are quite different. All things being equal they probably would be ready at about the same time, but there may be complications.
Just chill out... we've had to wait for things before, and it was painful, but we survived. They have just as much motivation as anyone to get this out as soon as they possibly can, but not everything in software goes as planned. It's not as if they have the build ready to go and are delaying it to spite you. No matter how much you "warn" them, it won't change that it'll be out as soon as possible.
We get mostly recycled dungeons and 1 new dungeon, going to be a boring patch.
New content patch will completely destroy PVP as well.
The new class is all we need to spice things up for a bit, speaking personally, I have no issue waiting a month or 2 for the new content.
Will I get flamed if I say I hope the new content comes for the anniversary in May?
