You realize Brawlers are more mobile than Lancers right? A Lancer in the same situation would've died, too.
Or, you know, you can git gud.
Thing is not all lancers can finish ghillieglade that quickly. To really play at that level, a lot of skill is required and top of rotations, etc. And I'll be honest, my ghillieglade runs take about 45-60 seconds each run on my +15 lancer where on my +12 brawler it takes about 65-70 seconds. Then again I'm more skilled on lancer than brawler. I think it's good to think about all situations and not just based off of a ghillieglade video to judge stuff.
This I agree with. I think every tank should have in their mind to dps from the front but at same time supporting party and all that good stuff.
And since the potential is always there to be a really good dps from the front, it's a good idea to take advantage of it and learn (for the newer people to tanking). I can't say how many times I have out dps'd other dps people in the party in schm/fihm and runs at certain bosses, and I'm talking around 600-850/ks avg. as lancer, not below 500k/s. Aggro is very easy to keep as long as the person stays above their rotations and stuff.
I-frame carpet 1. Bull rush out of carpet 2. I frame carpet 3. Repeat. You even have time to hit the boss in between to keep growing fury up throughout the whole mechanic.
I-frame the carpet right before the third blink and you won't get hit.
The boss is always at the center during a carpet mechanic so you never should have to bull rush more than 2 lanes to get out.
Looks like you're just a bad player
Try to actually learn the game before complaining

As far as I have seen and experienced playing both classes. The Brawler, even after the class balances introduced on Tuesday, May 17th, 2016, still can out DPS the Lancer all day long, without even breaking a sweat. The reason, in my opinion, is that the Brawler uses DPS to hold aggro on a mob, compared to a Lancer that has more aggro and hate building moves.
To further this comparison...I created a Brawler and a Lancer at the same time and started a stopwatch. During this current 100% XP bonus event, obviously you cannot use this for another comparison...but it helps...I was able to level my Brawler from level 1 to 25 within about 1-2 hours. Able to continuously move along fast and easy without a care in the world. The Lancer took me about 1-2 hours to get to level 17. This is due to the fact that the Brawler, even during low leveling, has more DPS than the Lancer. The Lancer also has to actively block to avoid damage. While the Brawler just has to continuously spam their counter move to block all damage, while dishing damage out...including some really nice AoE counter moves.
So, in my opinion, the Brawler is still king when it comes to being a mitigation tank with seriously high DPS, compared to the traditional mitigation tank Lancer.
Regarding sshm last boss, both are fine if you can make use of their skill to move around. Lancer has skating, SB and consecutive backsteps, while brawler has rhk, piledriver, dash and LR (using LR is a bit tricky since you have to auto once before the next line appear, and punch right after, LR after it appears won't make it in time and auto too soon messed it up).
