Honestly lancer needs the buff just as much as mystic needed ours.

Pop a dash scroll and run. Healer should be able to help for the ones you can't dodge.

Decore are you for real LOL
You realize Brawlers are more mobile than Lancers right? A Lancer in the same situation would've died, too.

Or, you know, you can git gud.

Well I have mained lancer for 2 years and obviously the boost we got as lancer has been amazing but in order for lancer to be real good, it depends heavily on party composition, a lot of skill and all that other good stuff. And I have to disagree that if you think lancer is broken. A skilled brawler can still outdps a skilled lancer by so much. This is just a solo ghilieglade that is not at the level of hard mode dungeons where bosses have more crit resist and stuff. A lancer wouldn't always be in a slaying setup in tanking runs right? So just saying that lancer is more broken than brawler is not convincing enough just because of that ghillieglade video. I'm sure if you put someone who has the same skill as a brawler with the same setup can probably do about the same. I just can't answer if they will beat the lancer or not because I know there have been some pve nerfs lately. I did see a brawler do a ghillieglade in 16 seconds or something in same setup but that was before the nerfs.

Thing is not all lancers can finish ghillieglade that quickly. To really play at that level, a lot of skill is required and top of rotations, etc. And I'll be honest, my ghillieglade runs take about 45-60 seconds each run on my +15 lancer where on my +12 brawler it takes about 65-70 seconds. Then again I'm more skilled on lancer than brawler. I think it's good to think about all situations and not just based off of a ghillieglade video to judge stuff.

    w..w..what about war tank? :c

They are left to die a very lonely death in the confines of BoL because BHS refuses to give actual tanking buffs to Zerk and Warrior other than an astounding D-Stance aggro generation buff for warriors :|

I'm paraphrasing a previous post I saw on reddit but basically, there has been a paradigm shift in tanking where they are now measured by how much damage they do, and not by whether or not they can hold aggro well, because holding aggro is now easier than looking for dank memes on tumblr. Gone are the days when holding aggro against a high DPS party and keeping a boss fight grounded were qualities that players looked for in a tank. Now everyone is so caught up in worrying whether or not tank class A needs to be nerfed/buffed over tank classes B and C that the very definition of being a tank has been lost. You're not tanking, you're DPSing from the front.

This I agree with. I think every tank should have in their mind to dps from the front but at same time supporting party and all that good stuff.

And since the potential is always there to be a really good dps from the front, it's a good idea to take advantage of it and learn (for the newer people to tanking). I can't say how many times I have out dps'd other dps people in the party in schm/fihm and runs at certain bosses, and I'm talking around 600-850/ks avg. as lancer, not below 500k/s. Aggro is very easy to keep as long as the person stays above their rotations and stuff.

Brawler was broken to begin with. This is just a process of it being brought to reasonable terms. For brawler mobility they only nerfed that one thing which was obscenely op to begin with. You're a metal class anyway. Lancers and zerkers only just now started receiving some mobility/evasive buffs.

Just look what happened here to me!! During the last burn phase of the 2nd boss in DFNM, he had like 3-4 carpets that you needed to dodge, and even though i was able to use bullrush on like 1-2, the third one was on the other side of the area, and i didnt have the 9 meter counter leap ability that would allowed me to get there much faster and not die.

On top of that game completely glitched out for me and i was stuck on a Neophyte Resuscitation screen which i couldn't even f*cking decline and my healers couldn't even ress me back. And I didnt have any gold on me, but the game either forced me to somehow pay or simply just get kicked or leave the party. There is no positives sides in nerfing brawlers more, because your only hurting the party and other players having to look for another tank.

I-frame carpet 1. Bull rush out of carpet 2. I frame carpet 3. Repeat. You even have time to hit the boss in between to keep growing fury up throughout the whole mechanic.

I-frame the carpet right before the third blink and you won't get hit.

The boss is always at the center during a carpet mechanic so you never should have to bull rush more than 2 lanes to get out.
  • So to sum it up: Lancers are too OP broken class and brawlers need a buff because some lancer burned ghilliglade fast and some brawler can't dodge DF carpet. Informative, thanks for sharing guys!

OP is salty because he can't ignore mechanics now and basically can't faceroll anything.

Are you the one complaining about ninja's dps being sh*t?
Looks like you're just a bad player
Try to actually learn the game before complaining

As a lancer main for nearly 3 years, and fully geared with +15 starfall, I can say that my +12 Dreadnaught brawler still outdps's my lancer.

I do IoD dailies on all my 65's and my Brawler is the fastest right up there with my gunner among all my characters. If anything, brawler still needs more nerfing.

I play with sub 40 ping too.

--- I haven't done ghilli on my lancer this patch, but I am just refering to IoD bam experience.

As far as I have seen and experienced playing both classes. The Brawler, even after the class balances introduced on Tuesday, May 17th, 2016, still can out DPS the Lancer all day long, without even breaking a sweat. The reason, in my opinion, is that the Brawler uses DPS to hold aggro on a mob, compared to a Lancer that has more aggro and hate building moves.

To further this comparison...I created a Brawler and a Lancer at the same time and started a stopwatch. During this current 100% XP bonus event, obviously you cannot use this for another comparison...but it helps...I was able to level my Brawler from level 1 to 25 within about 1-2 hours. Able to continuously move along fast and easy without a care in the world. The Lancer took me about 1-2 hours to get to level 17. This is due to the fact that the Brawler, even during low leveling, has more DPS than the Lancer. The Lancer also has to actively block to avoid damage. While the Brawler just has to continuously spam their counter move to block all damage, while dishing damage out...including some really nice AoE counter moves.

So, in my opinion, the Brawler is still king when it comes to being a mitigation tank with seriously high DPS, compared to the traditional mitigation tank Lancer.
  • Lol the fact that he used a Ghilihide video, which even a Schisma geared player can clear easily is just laughable.

Lancer has to block in order to maximize their dps, since a good portion of their dps comes from 100% crit shield counter. The different between lancer and brawler isn't with aggro (since even a potato can hold aggro since last patch), but the way they contribute to the party. Brawler contribute pure dps, while lancer can buff up the dps of a whole party.

Regarding sshm last boss, both are fine if you can make use of their skill to move around. Lancer has skating, SB and consecutive backsteps, while brawler has rhk, piledriver, dash and LR (using LR is a bit tricky since you have to auto once before the next line appear, and punch right after, LR after it appears won't make it in time and auto too soon messed it up).
