Valkyrie leveling up crystals?
As a new player to TERA, I have doubts about crystals when leveling - specially the need for efficient DPS with the upcoming 24 hour leveling event.
So far I have leveled characters mostly with pounding x3 and carving or something else; DPS seemed fine.
What are your thoughts on crystals for leveling up the Valkyrie and why?

For leveling and end-game. (with tank, that is)
For leveling I don't think it'd matter too much though, but I wouldn't go for Carving especially if you use avatar weapons since you'll be critting a lot already anyway.
If you're leveling with a tank, then you should always been using Pounding, Savage, Bitter, and Focused.
Carving doesn't make too much of a difference thanks to Avatar weapon crits and it isn't worth losing the damage from a Pounding crystal. Just make sure you keep your avatar weapon up-to-date.
Savage
Bitter/Spiteful
Focused
Wrathful.
You would ask. Why this weird setup where you aren't here nor there? It depends on how often you can keep your backtime. Pounding at low levels doesn't give much, the Crit Power crystals give way more than Pounding. Unless you are for certain you will front crit all the time or backcrit all the time (trust me you will try to go for back but it will be something like 75% back 25% front. This setup will guarentee good dps regardless of where you are positioned. If you can keep 100% backtime with a tank, just swap out wrathful for forceful/pounding (experiment which gives more dps). And if you can't keep more than 50% backtime, swap Savage and Bitter/Spiteful to Pounding/Brutal.
Do note that Wrathful will not stack with Spiteful on side crits.
People can argue that they got away with Pounding x4 while levelling in the past, but if you are doing dungeons Pounding will get you absolutely nowhere.
The only exemption is if you are playing a Tank, that way it is way easier to go Wrathful Focused Forceful Pounding
To my knowledge, Brutal crystals are only ~20% stronger than pounding, no?
In that case your opponent would need to be knocked down like 80% of the time on average for it to be as good. I don't see that happening - and I leveled one to 65.

as said by @Aimovera that is a usual build for melee classes. You can have Wrathful and Carving if there is no real tank or doing solo stuff.
They remove the KD from bosses on dungeons, so would be pretty useless against bosses.
with the mechanics we have now, yeah bosses & bams enrage a lot and that focused is a must.
For bosses, standard: Focused, Savage, Bitter, Pounding.
My only doubt now is, why Focused on normal mobs, do they enrage? Or should I use Pounding x3 and wrathful?
-after engaging a mob, they all have a set amount of time (maybe 15, 20s after aggroing) after which they will automatically enrage. You can tell because most of them get an absurd amount of speed and that's usually when they start catching up with you.
-after being lowered to a certain amount of their HP. I haven't done any testing on this at all, but my guess would be they're like standard bosses, they'll enrage at 90% of their HP. Since their HP amount is very low they're likely to enrage after the first hit they receive.
Another perk of Focused, since mob fights are by nature much shorter, you virtually always have your Focused increase. Then again if you're uncomfortable with Focused there's nothing wrong with triple Pounding :>
You are spot on, I recall many instances where mobs do rage and get that speed you mentioned. I will test out the two on my Valk at EU Tera before the launch here in NA
