Memory Error

Everytime I am in a crowded area (highwatch, velika) My game will crash with the memory error.

sometime the game just crashes with no error

I know my memory isnt the issue because it never happens on any other game.

here is my pc specs

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5820K CPU @ 3.30GHz

Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti

RAM 32 GB

Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 (build 10586), 64-bit

any help is appreciated

  • Tera runs in 32-bit meaning the game only uses 3gigs of ram, so the only way this issue can be fixed if they release a 64-bit Client.
  • And with 64-bit CPUs becoming the norm, you'd think BHS would consider making a 64-bit client...

Even in high traffic areas, it isn't normal to have it crash with memory-related errors on a 64-bit OS. But, TERA error handling is pretty sketchy, so it's quite possible that this error is due to something else entirely. It wouldn't surprise me if this error were due to a corrupt file -- for example, a certain costume that someone is wearing. I've also seen a few other root causes posted on the forum for this error over the years, including bad clusters on the hard drive, bad RAM sticks, heat-related issues, conflicting software (particularly anti-virus scanners), and other miscellaneous causes.

    BHS....please make a [filtered] 64-bit client.
Seriously, nobody uses stupid 32-bit anymore.

All games are done on 64-bit, everyone that isn't a complete tool is running a 64-bit windows, and almost everyone that actually wants to game has at least 8gigs of ram.

I'm running this game with a GTX 950 strix, i5 3.2, 8gb of ram and i'm playing on medium while my frames drop as low as 20-30 in dungeons.

Meanwhile over on games like the witcher 3 or fallout 4...max settings, mods to raise the graphics even more, even more mods that raises graphics and demands performance, still running easily above 60.

    BHS...get your [filtered] together. -.-

Playing TERA would be great, if i feel like having my PC performance sliced in half that is.

Honestly, even though a lot of people use 64-bit operating systems, the vast majority of programs and games are still 32-bit. Even most of the games released on PC this year are still 32-bit. So that itself isn't really the problem here.

Games are still made in 32-bit to appeal those few idiots that still use 32-bit, however, those games don't cut the performance in half for those of us that use 64-bit, while TERA does exactly that.
  • Greetings!

Sincerely? Try putting the TERA folder in the exclusion area of your antivirus. He may be trying to verify file by file on big cities, and it must be hindering the performance of your game.

Guide (Win 10 - Windows Defender):
    25a99fe6-489b-4f0f-ade4-69e764594125.jpeg
Go to Settings and select Update & security > Windows Defender. Under Exclusions, select Add an exclusion. Select the Add button, navigate to the folder and then select Exclude this folder.

If you want to remove an exclusion later, just highlight it and select Remove.

I had the same problem, and whenever I tried to open the game again, took around 2 ~ 3 minutes to open (using SSD).
    Have a great game, enjoy!
