Waves HI :) and a few questions....
New Player just thought i would come say hi as the servers are down. Lexa.Shockwave is my main on the tempest reach sever and she is a brawler.
This is really a fun game and I have to applaud the devs . My first impressions are defiantly a thumbs up. This is also one of the few games sexy females with sexy armour in it. i could name a few big devs that are working very hard to take anything sexy out of their games completely and those companies should really take a lesson on character design form you.
Being Mainly a solo preferred play I have made to level 39 and soloed the first 2 dungeons BoL and the Sininstral one my own and having a blast . Its also one of t he smoothest games I have played recently .I have an above average computer and internet connection and run everything on max and haven't had any real issues with performance, lag , crashes or really anything at all.
I have had to put in one support ticket for a game breaking issue I got stuck on building a mystery "Find Tezluar and kill him" i could not find them anywhere around where they should be. Lucky i was of high enough level to just skip that part but I would like to compete it at some point. Not sure how long support tickets take though,
I have collected what i believe are mats along the way but haven't actually tried crafting yet.
Is this like most games where crafting is really only decent for end game?
Also I am going to support the game in some way but have not decide if I am going for the elite or just put the money towards straight EMP purchase .
Anyone have any thoughts on pros and cons of this ?
That's all for now .... need to check the servers again lol have a good day and have fun everyone

Well.....l made it to 65...I and have IL410 now and have completed all but a couple of quests because i need IL417 to get into the dungeon for r one of my remaining quests but cant seem to figure out how to get the extra 7 points.
(edit i don't need 417...that's hard mode ...I don't even like hard mode anything i was trying to sign up for the wrong dungeon lol )
Good points
I am up to 97 hours now and still have high frame rate and have not had any lag or other tech issues even dungeons on the recent release day.
The story and movie parts were well done and interesting I was still at level 63 quests when i hit 65 so it did keep me engaged
Other devs i could name should take lessons from you on making armour and female pc.
Combat was fun and engaging when not fighting an way over powered dungeon boss
I have met a few nice helpful people
not so good points
World chat is toxic and negative a lot of the time and which makes one just turn it off .However it is on par with most mmos ....not good thing but not much anyone can do about it ,
Look at the new player forum in general and the amount of views and responses.
the General forum is much like world chat
People ranting in chat as I said i personally did not have any tech issues yet some like to frequently point how "bad the serves are in chat "
Just speaking form my personal experience It seems like the servers are only "bad" for some people and not others......It seems unusual that multiple people can be in the same server and have different experiences ......... and then that be the "servers " fault .
My opinion is not as cheery as when I started after the 2nd dungeon and the patch
The fact that you have to sit around and beg for people to with low level dungeons help you progress the story is not a good thing IMO.Also i left a lot of dungeon with side quests still unfinished and some times with story because everyone runes form boss to boss to finish it and then the dungeon kicks you out so you cant go back and finish off stuff.
Solo mode for all dungeons that progresses story and still gives out good level loot would increase replay value dramatically. Give people a choice on how they want to play the game .
Anyways that was just a few honest thoughts about my journey .
You can increase your ilvl in a few simple ways:
When you have certain armors, say for example Slaughter gear, you'll notice that you'll have rerollable lines on the +3, +6, +9 enchantment stages. If you go to the enchanting menu, there will be a button that says "show me all possible rolls" or something like that. What you need to do is get the gold/yellow roles, as they are "superior" and would therefore boost your ilvl. Try to get rolls that are pertinent to your class. To do this, I would suggest going to essentialmana and looking up your class for a guide on what to roll on your gear. If you do this for every single one of your gear - weapon > chest > gloves > boots - then it's guaranteed your ilvl will grow higher.
Another way to gain ilvl is to get better accessories, aka your earrings and your rings. They really do make a difference.
Finally, raising your ilvl also means raising your gear set. in Slaughter, the most you can go up to SSNM, I believe. If you get even one piece of Guile and a couple of Manor or Estate accessories, then you'll be able to go for everything except Ruinous Manor Hard Mode. That's not to say that you'll be good at those dungeons without skill and experience, but you'll be able to queue for them. Get some more Guile and better accessories and you can do RMHM. If you're confused about gear set progression, essentialmana also has guides for those.
Keep in mind that in general, people don't usually do Instance Matching to finish storylines. It's assumed you're either there for experience and Vanguard credits, so most people finish as fast as they can to be effective (from 1-64) and at level 65 it's done for either: materials, dailies, achievements, skill building, and general fun. If you want to finish side quests or storylines, try telling your party beforehand if you do instance match, create your own party, or go solo. And I don't mean the 'solo' version of the dungeon - I mean going in by yourself into the 5-man version.
Most players don't really care about the story because if gives nothing other than laurels. The amount of exp you gain from just killing the bosses (not even going to touch on the vangaurd reward) is enough to justify running over anything else. After my first playthrough (even at that first playthrough I went back 5 months later to solo the low level quests), I stopped doing the storyline the moment I hit level 20, mostly because it is actually very tasteless once you go through it the first time. And many players are already at their 3rd character at least (Valkyrie's my 13th sooo)
Levelling bosses aren't overpowered lol. It is buffed recently such that players can't just smash their heads on the keyboards and the boss will die (not kidding lol)
The servers are bad for many people actually. You are fortunate that you live near the server or in a node that is generally accepted, or maybe you haven't seen endgame to understand why people feel lag sometimes. Especially for tanking, a brawler with 100-ish ping actually needs to put double effort to actually hold aggro against a 10ms ping sorc with proper rotations in the same gear. For me it wouldn't matter for the sole fact I live on the other side of the planet, it will naturally be more laggy.
Elitist and toxic attitude is to be expected in endgame, it's the same for most MMORPGs. Tera is different in a sense that everyone actually needs to pull their weight in order to prevent deaths (neophytes is not the solution to clearing dungeons you know). This means proper rolls, proper jewellery, proper crystals. You are actually expected to know them now because of the many new hints they provide (the crystals obtained from doing vanguards nowadays aren't the old pounding + hardy, but catered to your class. Complete crystalbinds will help too.
I am actually interested in your computer specs, considering you mentioned you have high fps regardless of dungeons. Of course, you haven't gotten into the actual fps-dropping dungeons yet (they are all at level 65) but still.
The fact your opinion that the tera servers that are bad i don't personally find logical.. I have been in all 65 dungeons i can get into. the only ones I am missing are litlith and broken prison and the fact that you saying that i am Lucky to not have server issues .....technology isn't governed by "luck"
I have been in level 65 dungeons the only ones i am missing atm according to my quest tracker Lilth and broken prison which i jsut realized i can do at 410. and again i have not had any tech or performance issues of any kind. As requested here are my specs

The bosses are so overpowered the 5 of us could barely dent and eventually everyone died till me and one other was only left . Then the party was disband on the second boss ( aracnacandalbra???? probably spelt wrong) . It was not even fun for me .At most i going to stay at my current IL and just do everything well below that .
The elitist attitude makes fun and doing things simply for story or what they call "facerolling" but some of us actually find that kind of content fun.
As I mentioned the game has been mostly fun up to this point but until you add reasonable story progression either easier current dungeons you can do solo the way you want to do them and without relying on others or actual true solo dungeons people say you had before that progress story Currently I don't see myself trying any of the other classes or playing this to any serious extent.
I am powerful enough now that lower tired stuff is more enable now so will continue playing with my current character maybe when i earn enough gold to just buy all the high tier items ill try to finish Lilith and broken prison because its going to bug me that they are still in my quest tracker
if i had to give this game a rating on just my personal enjoyment factor I would say 6/10 not the best game i played out there but not the worst either.
again Just thought you like a honest opinion of a new person experience with your game the good and the not so good .
hope you have a good day.
Dungeons in TERA are a team effort. If you wipe, check first and foremost if there is something different you could be doing. Did you get all the right crystals? Use complete crystalbind? Nostrums? Get good glyphs? Before you entered the dungeon did you bother to look up a guide on the dungeon mechanics? If you and your party don't know, it's obvious you will wipe. That wasn't an "elitist" attitude - you guys disbanded because you saw that the run was not going anywhere, which is fine. It happens. But elitism is when players judge you or accept you based on your gear and stats and etc. What happened here sounds like you guys were just all new to the dungeon, which happens in endgame. Level 1-64 was pretty much nothing. At this point you have to learn the dungeon, practice, and then you will find yourself getting better and having fun.
Trying to make friends and joining a guild helps too. Point is, you barely touched the surface of endgame before judging it, and called elitism when there were many factors - some of which might have included yourself - in the wipe. If you want help, people will give it to you. Just show that you want to try more first.
I am on a consistent 250ms ping playing all the way from Singapore, which is already considered the "normal" ping for people playing so far away. I have played and cleared every single HM dungeon post BRHM barring SSHM (my specs are low enough for it to bug out cage phase sometimes even if I let it load so I just avoided that dungeon) and yes I am probably the only 250ms player who had a 1300 rating on Corsair's lol. If you would ask, I have a consistent 100mbps internet (500mbps plan spread across 5 devices), and I believe many others who have complained have similar download speeds or even plans doubling my bandwidth. Also I have seen people with a (now considered low) 10mbps plan having a fluid 30-40ms connection in the states. ISP matters as much as your house wiring, neighbourhood wiring and the amount of bandwidth going around on set periods of the day. That is why I mentioned "luck", because most of these are actually way out of your control. This is such for any game title without dedicated routes unlike titles like WoW.
As long as this ping value variates very commonly (ie big change every 10 seconds where that particular number jumps up and down, that is a ping spike, usually caused by the slowness of either the server or the trace route. I don't face this usually during offpeak periods (where I commonly play at due to my timezone), but when I do I occasionally can relate to this problem.
IMS is not doomed to fail, but learning mechanics is part and parcel of every Tera dungeon. That is the bigger factor why many people used to play or still play this game, rather than the actual storyline. Like what @Zosmathyn said, you have only really just begun the game, especially since the real game starts at level 65. Lilith's Keep is actually a mid-tier dungeon, aimed at bringing a challenge to newer players, but yet not impossible to clear. Aside from the 1-2 runs where my connection was honestly too bad, it isn't an impossible feat to clear in IMS, despite all the toxic claims about IMS being doomed to fail and stuff. I will admit that I have already played for too long, but if I have my clear on LKNM on my first try (low tier gear) on 8 different characters, even when there are complete newbies running the same dungeon, I have that basic right to say that you can do it too.
If I am in TR I would actually help you with tips on gearing up and learning the game. But really just keep an open mind to things because there is really a whole lot of things you don't know yet. From personal experience tanking that spider boss in Lilith's Keep for the first time is actually scary due to some regular attacks actually oneshotting you if you don't block or skill-block right, but you will eventually get used to the timings and work with that. Eventually you will get to the point where you are so proficient that you forget you are using a keyboard+mouse but actually tanking as if you are one with the character. But that only comes with effort from the player, not the gear you buy from the market.
EDIT: Oh and the reason why dungeons are buffed is not because they don't want a bad solo player experience, but rather the fact that they want players to actually learn something about dungeon mechanics before you hit endgame. Prior to Valkyrie release, most people have complained that the levelling taught nothing about the gameplay at all, making the difficulty spike too high when levelling to endgame. A solo dungeon wouldn't have taught any mechanics about any dungeon because the devs are limited to how much dps a healer can do at best, and punishing because of a single mistake would only make the solo experience worse. There used to be solo dungeons, but those never counted into quests if you are wondering
-Not everyone get them.
Strangely as it sounds, the lag does not apply to everyone. It is not logical to say that if it doesn't happen to you, it doesn't exist. I live in the east coast and recent patches had made my ping spiking to 4-5 digits. Meanwhile, some people in EU/Asia or SA don't have the problem. And it is not because of their internet speed. My tracerts have shown that there were packet loss and unstable bounce at the routing server. So please keep in mind that if something doesn't happen to you, that doesn't it doesn't exist.
Best regards.
