    The real pros:

-One of the only MMOs which isn't the boring tab-target kind. This is way more immersive than the former imo.
-The only MMO that used to have actual playable pvp that isn't just press one button to win.
-One of the few MMOs that doesn't lock you out of content just because you don't spend money. Look at some games where it is impossible to advance one step into end-game unless you grind 3 months non-stop or spend a truckload of money.
-One of the few MMOs that is a nearly bot free server (NA). I haven't seen a f2p MMORPG that can do this on their official servers.
-One of the MMOs that emphasize on teamwork and individual skill, so much that battles feel more like a dance than random mashing of buttons.

    Cons:
-RNG (This is honestly a minor con imo, all RPGs need some form of RNG to keep the game in check)
-Publishers have no focus on any region other than their home region. if you set up an MMO designed for multiple regions, take note that every region has their market, country law, style of playing. You can't just cater only to one server and ignore the rest, that is tactical [filtered].
    -Just not enough content.
-PvP is not encouraged enough (subjective, I know, but TERA doesn't disappoint in their battlegrounds, so addictive even if credits are not awarded).
-Game is way too punishing to players who are still learning and can't keep up. Losing crystals just because of a single death? (Note not all servers have easy access to complete crystalbind) Rip your credits and gold.
-Not enough side content for good distractions.

What do you exactly mean by "Not enough content" and "not enough side content", for the last one, could you give me an example?

    Thank you for sharing!

pros-combat, designs/graphics event a bit dated it looks pretty good, mechanics in dungeons some are interesting and fun.
cons-removal of content, structuring of content, mechanics others are down right stupid, developer doesnt seem to care much as well as publisher (cash cow syndrome)

Cons: devs seem to not play their own game much.

This thing is what can be the worst con in the game it self.

Publishers does play it, being bad or not having enought time to master the classes are diferent than not playing. However devs seems to only do the content without actually having real Tera testers, players devoted to the game, but it seems that the only testers or ppl that makes opinions about the devs job is the BHS and Devs themselves.

That I think is a sad mistake.
  • Pros:
    - Excellent, action-oriented combat system
    - Graphically, it's very pretty
    - Dungeons are relatively fun
    - There's almost always something going on
    - Sometimes they communicate things very well and CM's seem very involved
    - Some pretty nice things in the cash shop, many of which can be picked up via the trade broker if you don't feel like spending money

    Cons:
    - Poor/outdated optimization
    - Bugs take a while to get fixed, if they get fixed at all
    - Lag (partly due to poor optimization)
    - Dungeons and other instanced content take forever to queue up for
    - Some decisions end up being kind of weird (3x drop event the same weekend that Rewards system is taken offline for bug-squashing)
    - Sometimes said decisions aren't communicated well
    - EMP is actually pretty expensive, relative to what you can get with it.

    Pros:
    Good Gaphic
    No target based action
    Big map
    Cool Bams

    Cons:
No PvP since last patchs (only 65, no CS for under 65)
Unbalanced since day 1 til now.
Poorly optimized (UI is the most big cancer of the game, fps killer. They never fix it)
Koreanized game (Farm fest till u die of hunger)
    PtW extreme
Eternal Queues (Annoying when u need to advance with some quest and need other 4 idiots to complete)

And just for south americans cons:
    - 180/220 average ping

This was asked on reddit and I posted this there

If I had to put my thoughts on tera into 1 sentence:
Tera is a game with an amazing combat system and interesting dungeon mechanics, built on an old engine, with a publisher that doesn't seem to care.

So much of this. The main issue of this game is that the devs dont play it. I remember when for a few months every week some dev talked to the comunity about themself, and none of them had a lvl 65 char. If you dont play the game, and dont listen to the same ppl asking the same things over and over again, ppl with YEARS of exp on tera, you cant expect this game to be top tier. If anyone plays LoL, they must remember last year that Riot said "no sandbox" and everyone was "LOL, WTF WHY, WE NEED SANDBOX". After a while they thought a bit, listen the comunity and made a sandbox mode. That had never happened on Tera, every time [filtered] happened, and THE WHOLE comunity was "please no", they didnt change anything. Dragon mounts, eq fwc, titan embers (remember that crisis?).
And im not even thinking in some real issues that emme cant fix, like the removal of content without anything to replace (remember crusades? remember highscores? remember Aliance which was never balanced to keep it relevant? remember DS3 which was never changed or balanced from DS2? Remember FINM for 3 months? Remember that one time they introduced vm mats on BC/Ks shop, and suddenty pvp was alive again, and then it was never implemented ever again?).
But yea, combat sistem es the best of the market, thats why most ppl still play it.

Thank you for sharing man, and yes, I agree with a lot of things you said!

Thank you for joining this thread!
  • Pros:

    • Beautiful environments if you don’t mind lagging to hell at high resolution. Great for a screenshot, but unable to play.

    • Combat is entertaining. Not point and click. End game dungeons require skill and not just button spamming....sometimes.

    • Lots of fashion clothing, accessories, and mounts to buy.

    • Trade broker. If you’re too poor to spend real money for something, you may be able to spend in game currency to buy it from the trade broker or from another player.

    • Ability to ride mounts in dungeons.

    • Interesting dungeons… if you can find a party or don’t mind waiting forever for an instance.

    • Account bound mounts. (I just wish they had more account bound items to purchase.)

    Cons:

    • No Optimization / LAGGGGGG…. Can’t enjoy the beautiful scenery of the game due to these issues. Every new patch increases lag instead of fixing it and now random disconnects from the server.

    • Class and gender locked jobs. Really? Not much diversity.

    • RNG boxes to sucker people out of their money and like a lottery, doesn’t guarantee a winner the more you spend. You can spend a few grand and still not get the jackpot.

    • Awful character customization. You can’t change hairstyles, ears, tails, horns, etc. and are stuck with presets.

    • Not friendly to new players… and this isn’t about the ball of death in Fey Forest.

    • Game is only updated for end game users and lacks open world PvE content. Most of the world is ignored in the game with no reason to travel there unless you like doing yellow side quests.

    • Long queues for instance matching, especially for battlegrounds.

    • Not much of a story line and horrible voice overs during cut scenes.

    • Bugs… such as dismounting and being stuck underneath the city or being stuck in a never-ending loop of falling off a rock (thank god it was fixed when I closed the game and restarted it)

    • Players frequently ignored. Lack of interest in community input to improve the game.

    • Limit on flying and invisible barriers/height restrictions.

    • Lack of crafting.

    • Not really open world and sometimes the story quests make you solo them. Not that great when playing with friends.

    • UI needs to have better customization. It has some yes, but there’s much more room for improvement.

    • Empty guild castles in the sky and no player housing.

    • Bland, generic questing that follows a linear path.

    • Female characters are geared towards men… the bouncing [filtered] and lack of clothing/panty shots are not my thing…. and the Elins seem to be designed for pedophiles (or so my friends have said after looking at the game.)

    • Some things missing in NA even though they have them in Korea….. I’m still waiting for that Alice dress.

    • P2W dragons.

    • No fishing.

    • No gryphons as a mount.

  • Looking back at all my cons of Tera, I start wondering why do I stick around and then I remembered…. Tera is kind of a laid back game for me. There’s no rush to do things at specific times, no need to buy the latest item or fall behind and never catch up… it’s a simple game that I can easily take long periods away from then pick right back up. Minus the dragons…. it is a free to play game and there is no need to spend real money on it unless you want to. I suppose that would be another positive for Tera. Most games I have played became more work than fun and since my life is hectic enough I eventually quit those games. Tera is just fun… when I’m not complaining about one of its cons. :P
