I've played Tera on and off for awhile, and remember when everyone started on the Isle of Dawn and learned how to throw bombs, get buffs from the fires, etc. Awhile ago when EME added the psychic girl and another island with a special tree as the opening series of quests I was all, "Cool, somewhere new to start." Until I realized it's a linear narrative and when you create a new character you'll level to 10 in the same area through the same quests. So- did I miss something? Is there an alternate opening questline?

    Yes Island of Dawn was a lot nicer, I loved that.

    Just the new linear storyline. I really wish we could just get IOD back, that was way more enjoyable than this dramallama story we start with now.

    I like the old IOD, because the island was prettier and it didn't feeling like I was being artificially rushed through quest like the new starting zone. They should have given us the option to start on the new starting zone or old IOD.

    Honestly don't know why we moved the questline to the new island. It shouldn't be that hard to create an instanced version of IoD until you finish the questline, other MMOs have that, and even the new island has that. In addition, the newly devastated Island of Dawn as we currently have it for end-game farming purposes makes more sense in a flowing and congruent story if we've actually been there before, including a lot of the achievements there now referencing completely removed content. Would have been nice to be given the option, they could have even specified something like "Island of Dawn - Story driven beginner experience, Stepstone Isle - Accelerated leveling experience" and given players a choice of whether to go do the Island of Dawn questline instead.

    Yes, the alternative is Stepstone Isle... much nicer and smaller.

    Veteran players all know that u don't do story quest. u skip it and power lvl from 1 to 20 then run dungeons. power lvling 1-20 takes 5mins on teraliths.

    I have a strong feeling , i want to kill Anya the gifted child, everytime xD and burn that zozo the bear.
    Anyways, a BIG bad face Amani, "playing" with a little girl...Who does not know, its kinda [filtered] xD

    I miss Magister Leander and Karascha, and the original IOD.

    As a first impresion of the game, the old IOD was a lot more better looking in all aspects than Septon isle.

    The best thing about old IoD was that you could see other people playing for all of the starter zone(except that instance with a boss) and you could "team up" and have some social experience to it, now its just a solo boring campaign.

    We should get IoD as starting area for original classes, reaper has their own, Stepstone Isle for Brawler and ninja should start at records of aranea (just kidding)... we need more story contend that can expand the lore in a visual manner and not only by a window of text.

    Hope we get something enjoyable for most people.

    Old IoD was basically all open world, all be it on an island, but you weren't instanced multiple times like the new area. You could start gathering there also which you can't do on this new starter zone. You also could get the titles Angel of Death and Death Eater on old IoD but both got removed and being that half of the new starter area is instanced it would've been a pain to try and get those titles now. I miss the old IoD and helping Leander. I actually still have an old IoD quest I can't complete or dump that requires me to kill some sporewalkers, lol. Good times.

    Well opinions... Me and you both hate it and... are stuck with either this, paying for plvl till Lv 20 or so (EVEN MORE BORING), or Lv 60 scroll.

    years ago I played Lineage 2 chronicle 3, 4 and as far as I remember there was different starting area for every race, but we never had this in Tera
