Intense low FPS during shadow sanguinary last boss

I really don't get why I get low FPS in the single digits when fighting the last boss. I don't have issues with other dungeons/bosses, just this. I make sure my screen is full and turn down the graphics but it doesn't seem to make a difference

Edit: Xei below suggested turning Lucid to 0 did the trick for me. I run a first gen i5 so I'm glad my processor can run this game about fps are about 40 now in boss battles

I was like that, heavy lag also, I had crazy delay. FPS was fixed for me after driver update and changing ISP fixed delay but still IMP is a bit laggy no matter what.

This is normally caused by an issue with your GPU, unless a driver fixes it you have to restart your game after killing the mobs before you fight Imperator or replacing your GPU to one that doesn't have this issue.

Thanks guess I'll try updating drivers to see if I can get some FPS improvements
  • Do you play the game through steam? If so turn off the overlay.

I used to have this problem all the time before taking a break from the game. I'd get FPS drops at random when certain mechanics were happening on last boss. I knew a few other people that had the same issue.

I haven't had it happen since I came back, or at least not to a noticeable effect. Not sure what changed to fix it. :\

I've noticed that during the last boss of SSHM (havent did SSNM in a while), once I get hit by anything, my fps will drop to single digits, which makes the gameplay painful. When I die and get revived, the fps increases to normal until I get hit again. Similar behaviour was noticed in last boss of LKHM too.

is this a new thing? i don't run ss cos i suck at cage. but anyway, it's so bad, I completely avoid ss at all, except for this weekend for 3x drops. the first 2 bosses are ok, but not the last. cage is absolutely horrific to master with low fps + high ping oh lord, best to avoid it all together than floormat every cage. :) and i don't even want to go near sshm.

i believe turning lurid display down to 0 worked for some back when the dungeon was first released. that's mainly only if the lag comes following the entry donut aoe though

omg yes this works perfectly. I updated my drivers, made some changes to Radeon control panel, Hide UI during battle in the options but those changes made almost no difference in FPS (but it did help my overall FPS a bit ) but changing lucid display to 0 did the trick.

I didn't even have it at 2, only at 1 and it slowdown like crazy. Well going try to do more SS in the next few days to confirm but it definitely did the trick today.

The dungeon has always been unplayable normally.. and could get you banned if you do any optimization tweaks or anything like that

I haven't been using any tweaks lately, the one setting really helped and the new UI options are a plus
  • This is a feature. Nothing to worry about.
  • working as intented
