  • First of all.. we all can agree that dps comes second in terms of gameplay focus... you first have to take care of the mechanics and stay alive.
    Second... no one said the dps meeter has to be party based... it can be a personal meeter that has a button to share it with the party .... this would stop the discrimination...
    @the guys who said there are ppl who dont carry their part of dpm in a shield phase... i think they shouldnt be in the party that cant help them and its their foult if they dont want to listen to other party memebers in order to improve their output...
    i mean dps meeter should not be the primary selection tool for party members... we already have the /inspect function that does the job preety well... if u find someone with good gear but bad dps(only if they share it with you)... you should help them improve it....
    This kind of feature is meant to help the comunity to get better... not the elitists

    you know as well as I do, that it will only give the elitists more power in the game and even more hard to deal with.

    Those people already isolated themselves from the community, there's not much "dealing with them" if they ignore 99% of the player base as it is.

    In regards to the OP:

    It's in the off-topic section and this reply may seem off-topic, however relevant to the in-game DPS meter feature discussion. Revelations Online, has one for dungeons and raids, it pops up automatically during I think boss fights.

    I don't know why BHS is so against this, but something like this shouldn't be that hard or difficult to implement. It's also personal, you're not seeing party dps, or how everyone performed, you see just your own.
    https://forums.enmasse.com/tera/discussion/13971/unrelated-to-tera-however-relevant

    It does show party aggro list it seems in percentages as Boss hatred list:

    Can you explain to me why it's so bad and toxic to not want to carry somebody who's underperforming? Are you afraid a dps meter will show that you are just smashing random buttons and thus deserve to be removed from the party?
  • MagichanMagichan ✭✭✭
    Nah, we need to remove the ability to see other people's gear level, enchantment rolls, and crystals. Let's also disable the option to see which skills other players are using. We don't want to support an elitist community :^)

    Seriously though I want to compare my numbers to others'. Some of us are competitive and it gets us to try our hardest. It's just more fun that way.
  • well then, there's third party dps meter, use it at your own risk :)

    but if even anyone mention it in my party about my low dps or worst, paste the numbers to prove it.

    you can be sure i'll screenshot and report you for using 3rd party stuff.
  • Meter has turned into a toxic tool in the hand of cancerous players, thank God this is going to end. It could be self improvement tool but it is not. Cancer players just paste in the chat party to humiliate the weaks

    I know that from now on I will kick\refuse anyone who:
    - is missing even one of the crucial crystals;
    - has more than +50 crit rate on a valkyrie;
    - has more than +150 crit rate as a gunner: on second thought, kick any gunner unless it's +15, same goes for slayers;
    - has less than +200 crit rate on any other class;
    - kick any tank not using threatening crystal, unless it's +15.
    - blacklist anyone following mechanics on SSNM 2nd boss, cuz that is just pure dps check.

    I don't need dps meter to be toxic, bad players are suffice.

    This is a mmo and therefore cooperative.
    There are people starting at Tera all the time. (Just like you one day)
    If you do not want noobs at your party then you should have a guild where so many people OP exist to close your party. Or try a single player game.
    Only that

    Exactly. And if somebody is a dead weight, then they are not cooperating with the rest and should be removed. Unless you think "cooperative" means "carrying" in which case you can find a guild with people willing to do that for you.

    If youre afraid of being called out on poor gear/dps/etc, go join a group of new players or fellow bads. Or try a single player game.
  • Maybe they've asked BHS several times like how they asked meishu :^)

    Yeah, removing a new dps on ssnm or lknm because in his slaughter and almost non-existent mechanics knowledge he is making your run 30 secs longer. Right?

    That is better than telling him what he should do to avoid death and do more damage.

    But is better for us who have BiS or mid tier gear and knowledge to neglect the posibility of new players to improve in that very same run. Right?

    Whats stopping them from playing with other new players? Why are they owed carries?
