Bannable because I want to icrease distance of camera to save my eyes. Guess with no response from eme makes this easier the time to move to EU version or other game has come:....

Are your eyes even worth saving? I mean, you somehow miss 3 pages full of relies.
  • Precisely...well said dirty cheaters are dirty. FOV is a blatant hack that enables an increase of the hackers stats by 1000% which they then use to cheat in BG. Excellent work enmasse for banning, let's take the ban further anyone who uses any OS other than Windows ME should be banned.

dude have you seen what an FoV of 1000 will do to you in any game? i dont recommend that acid trip of an fov

This is what i want to fight for- the tweaks that were done without use of said 3rd party programs but to INI files. though doing so is against the ToS, it is a Quality of Life issue here allowing many, many players to play at a somewhat near optimal frame rate levels. i mean, the research has been done by Bernkastel and others, the solution is there, but the publisher or developer being too ignorant about these optimization tweaks and/or having such pride to accept player based solutions is just blatantly stupid. As Bern said, we have the solution- just talk to the community and work with each other to optimized this slideshow of a game.

It's EME who started fearmongering by saying they will ban ANY client modifications.

Announcement was very clear, the title even has "Cheating and Third Party Tools" for the thread.

Fear-mongering was made by players themselves that did not read the announcement or understand it, that did it to cause panic, and that tried to justify their actions.

OverWolf is a third party tool
is it bannable? it does not modify game files nor does it have an injector.

@Spacecats Can we please get an answer to this from someone with actual knowledge.
I see you're answering some stuff about the 3rd party stuff, But it states in your EULA, and TOS that if we ask you if we're allowed to
use a 'mod' it has to be approved by You and Your team.

I also want to bring up in the past (2013) There was a Thread made and explaining and showing
people about the FoV If it was an issue it would of been closed no? and the player banned?

http://prntscr.com/f1t0px (screenshot of EULA And the Rule I am talking about.)

Now honestly the Original FoV Of tera is 60.0000 (If i am correct).
    is Pretty bad..
The Most common FoV that players seem to use is almost identical to your
HH FoV Which is far better on players and the health and well-being of players.

All We're asking of you is that the FoV Lines to be allowed, as it hurts our eyes,
    and makes people motion sick.
Im sure you dont want to be held liable for the sickness of players.

All we ask is an answer, The people on this thread keep screaming 'THIRD PARTY'

But this is not Third Party That we are Talking About.

EME won't specify because they don't want people toying with their language trying to find unreasonable exceptions.

In reality, no one else will know or care if you play with an increased FOV or other .ini tweaks. No one will report you for it unless you're capturing screenshots/video of a modified client. EME doesn't want to ban average players, so just don't draw attention to yourselves.
  • FoV and the other ini file tweaks honestly shouldn't be bannable, it's nowhere near cheating imo.

There are a lot of people who would literally be unable to play without the fps gain that's provided by this, including me.
My comp is a potato, but I've been able to play this game for 2+ years, and I was having enough fun to even spend a few hundred dollars on account mounts/bundles and elite (even though my fps has always been trash and I do get upset and frustrated because of it sometimes).

After the first official thread I've removed said tweaks, but doing endgame dungeons is literally impossible for me without them. The past few days I've been doing low level dungeon achievements instead, but without the fps tweaks even that is triggering me. Getting 9 fps in SSG outside of combat, on preset 0, is not okay, plus I'm subconsciously trying to zoom out all the time, because I'm used to the fov being 120 instead of 60 lol.

I'll probably give up on trying to play overall if I can't use the tweaks, even though I do love this game.

And I do know what people say about this, how eme wouldn't ban people just because of the ini tweaks, but I'm still conserned, and want to share my thoughts and what I've been experiencing the past few days.

it's not third party but its modification to the client can't you read and understand.

The ini files are really just your game settings in file format. They are litterally there to offer you the possibility to modify game settings that are too advanced for an in-game UI.

A line like "bSmoothFrameRate=TRUE" is there to offer the option of setting it to "FALSE".

This is in no way editing the client files in a way not intended by the game. Just keep calm and sail on. :)

I read and understood it. Doesn't mean it's not stupid.

allowing a few simple, HARMLESS modifications in two game files to make the game be playable < losing a bunch of players who'd possibly spend money on the game

Sounds like good business to me.
