What exactly was rng about Darkan? He had a very specific attack pattern; the most RNG thing he could do is throw two secondaries at you. Maybe 3 if you had to res someone first.
B M B A C K S W I P E
Just need fast reaction time for sshm last boss
Exactly. There're like little to no RNG in SSHM's boss either
there were times he would do random, unpredictable backswipes tbh, i think that's what they're referring to
not saying its harder but there is way more rng in sshm. there's rng in the cage, rng in his pattern (even though he does something 3x in a row it's not always the same pattern) if you are a class with only 1 iframe then the RNG in this fight is much more noticeable than the rng on darkan.
I remember when schm came (prenerf , when gen gear was the vm gear at the time), it sure was my 1st experience trying something super hard. I never cleared darkan that time but got to 40 percent when it was my 1st time tanking. Of course I would clear it after the pre-nerf. After some experience I realized schm wasn't as difficult. Even today I would prefer pre-nerf schm and would like to see how I fare now vs. when I was new at that time now that I'm more experienced.
TSHM was a fun dungeon and at first was difficult but was easier with experience and good team. I primarily had difficult time tanking the 2nd dragon at times because sometimes healers miss me on cleanse but I had learned to somehow survive and continue. Once I got experienced more, I found tshm a bit easier and didn't really consider it too hard. Yana was tough at first and required team play.
BRHM back in the days was at first really tough but fun once we had experience. I remember the joy of tanking the fish and dealing with fulminar at the end. I had a moment where I would tank him about 3 minutes or more during the enrage part because everyone died. The difficulty at first was there but easy with a good team and experience.
When FIHM came out last patch, I was really happy that we got something challenging. I enjoyed tanking it and it sure was challenging at first but had gotten real easy with a great team.
So my current hardest dungeon atm is SSHM. I think it's about the same level of pre-nerf schm. SSHM sure does test everyone's ability. If people are carried in normal mode of that, well then good luck in hard mode. Sorry to say but ppl would have to carry their own weight in hard mode. The difficulty is definitely up there. Seems like last boss requires a lot of reaction just like darkan. When I tanked last boss in normal mode, I did not die my 1st time. I think it's because the experience I had at darkan helped me there. In hard mode though he is much faster and of course different mechs and need quick reactions. I never did mchm since I did not play tera at that time so not sure how difficult it would be for me.
So for me it's SSHM the most difficult atm.
To me ABHM wasn't that fun, maybe the first day trying to clear it but after that the one-shot mechanics & not being able to dodge everything while playing a slayer got old.
ABHM favorite to melee class
SCHM easy to read on att pattern
TSHM favorite to Gunner
FIHM/SSHM favorite to any class with bunch of iframe
Havent run SSHM but from what SSNM... iframe to the win~
As for SCHM, the only difficulty I had was learning to dodge Perimos' laser with teleport jaunt. Though it was difficult and annoying, all other classes had quite an easy time with it, and Darkan didn't present any substantial difficulties.
If ABHM was included I would definitely choose it. It was a nightmare for mystics, with no effective AOE healing skills to rely on.
I really just enjoyed not only the Queen fight, which had two phases, but the various bosses leading up to it. I think that this was probably the hardest dungeon of the three, personally. Especially if your people taking debuffs died and you had to figure out on the spot how to rotate who is taking what, or if you ended up with several people taking multiple debuffs.
KNXX is high on my list, as is MCHM and original SCHM, for reasons others have discussed.
Surprised nobody has mentioned BTHM yet - that was quite fun!
