TERA Quality of life: 2012 to 2017 & always at rock-bottom
Hi,
I'm not sure what I'm looking for in terms of discussion from this thread, but I wanted to (again) bring to light issues that have essentially existed since TERA's NA release (2012) that are still (2017) very much so prominent and major issues impacting the quality of life of the game.
To quickly point out those flaws:
- Lack of 3rd party interface support
- Lack of variable endgame content that requires increased coordination, increased difficulty (in terms of mechanics, not in terms of ridiculous 5ms twitch reflex silliness) and less grind (Although, thanks for Harrowhold!)
- Poor optimization
- Incredible amounts of imbalance between classes
- Rehashed and cyclical development (Every major patch/change and progression path is fundamentally identical to the one before it)
- Intermittent bouts of game-breaking latency (This has always been the absolute biggest problem)
I've played this game intermittently since its closed BETA in 2012. From time-to-time, I've picked the game back up for a handful of time with hopes that the game has addressed major issues. Unfortunately, the same issues still exist, and it's clear by the recent ban sprees that the priorities of EME and BHS are still not in the best interest of the players. The game still functions as a slot machine in an intricate disguise.
Yet again, I'm opting to cancel Elite and provide no further funds to the development team. I'd encourage others that are unhappy to do the same.
If you're still pleased with the game and enjoying it, by all means, carry on. This is still a fantastic game at its core, and the gameplay is unrivaled. These are just the things that turn what could be one of the most thrilling and wonderful game experiences into a dreadful and horrendous one.
Thanks for the fun. See you again soon, I bet.

Are there simply no other games that appeal to you?
Enough said
I wait for a response from the person I am genuinely interested in hearing from, especially since what you quoted doesn't address what I asked. After all, if it had, I wouldn't have posted my question.
They're referring to Tera's combat system which is the only aspect of the game that's kept it alive this far. The vast majority of game's in the MMORPG genre are mostly tab or hybrid based. Tera is a shooter basically but without the guns. People who like Tera's combat will generally not play a game like WoW even if it had better content strictly over the difference in combat.
