lost bank tabs

i bought a bank expansion yesterday and put stuff in my new bank tab then wake up today and the tab is gone and everything is in the temporary bank?

    Yep. The only response we've gotten is 'we're working on it'. This is a large overarching issue with buddy up, though. When I did it a couple weeks ago, the prizes were all messed up. There's a good chance these bank slots were never meant to be tradeable and EME Just completely screwed us. The reason they don't have a fix is because this was never supposed to happen, and there's no rollback for these generally untradeable items. Here we are at the 2nd week of this issue after the patch, so buckle in for at least another week.

    We have this issue for 2 weeks already.

    If posible could EME disable the bank tabs from shop and anounce in-game about the issue to lessen the damage from buying somwthing bugged?

    that's the thing im worried about, if they say it wasn't supposed to be tradable and then we don't get compensated for them and we lose gold.
    I don't think they would do that, but I still worry

    The main issue wouldn't be they can be traded, they simply aren't the same bank expansions as when they were given at level 50 or so. A lot of the current rewards are actually broken in some form and this isn't the first time a patch broke the rewards. Typically after a point the rewards are switched back to the original by now, but as to why that hasn't happened yet I do not know. If it was switched quickly there would be less broken expansions being used.
  • I'm quite upset about this before there was no formal announcement, and I bought mine just yesterday before the patch. I feel as though this long in to it and I didn't even get an inkling from EME, and who are we kidding buddy up players aren't going to report this issue rampantly, is worthy of being upsetting, and feeling like I got scammed out of 30k for the 4 tabs I bought, which were converted literally the next time I logged in.

  • I have an update on this. I'll start with root cause, and move on to what we're doing about it.

    TL;DR -> It's fixed, no new bad items will be showing up, and we're working on identifying affected players so we can get you your bank slots.

    What happened?
    The BuddyUp Rewards system in TERA is, for those of you who have used it, a series of boxes that each have various things in them at the various levels your buddy gets to. During one of the recent updates, probably the Valkyrie Update, the contents of those boxes were accidentally changed from what we use in NA to a different set of rewards. Among those rewards was a set of bank expansion items. Those items were never tested in NA, and (clearly) have some problems with how we have TERA configured in our region. This took longer than expected to track down because initial reports had us investigating whether or not the Honorbound release had broken bank expansions generally, rather than a bad item ID being introduced into the game.

    When will it be fixed?
    The BuddyUp rewards have been fixed, and there will be no more of those bad bank items entering the game. As we didn't fully get to the bottom of this until it was too close to yesterday's downtime to address it, the bad items are still in game at this time, and they will be removed/deleted during next week's maintenance.

    When will I get my bank slots back?
    We are working on this. I have gone through our logfiles looking for clear triggers for when these items are used, but part of their problem appears to be that they don't trigger a consistent "Inventory expanded" message in the logs when it's used. I've contacted BHS to have them do a deeper investigation of the logging for this item so that we can build a list of all affected players. Once we have that list, we will be able to see about handling compensation. This will be a little slower than normal to resolve, because this week is a series of holidays in Korea, and many of the BHS Team are out, but we are working on it.

    What can I do for now? I want to buy a bank slot on the Trade Broker!
    You still can, but only buy bank slots that are named bank expansion, and not the ones with the [account] tag in front. Those are the bad ones. We'll be posting an in-game announcement about the nefarious items in question as well, so that everyone can be informed about this.

  • @Noesis Are there problems with other BuddyUp items too? In the same chest that I got the bank tabs, I also got 2 items that don't have a name (I think one is a +12 scroll), along with some Federation Bills that have a different icon and say to right click them to turn them into Federation Bills (which doesn't work). Are these items safe to use?

    That reminds me, I got a scroll that said "rare item" but I am not able to do anything with it. I'll have to screen shot it all and put a ticket in just in case

    That +12 scroll was for Schisma tier (tier 5, I think?) gear, which has long since passed. I don't know if they changed the scroll to work with current gear, so I'd stay away from using it for the moment.

    Keep them open until the issue is taken care of. If it gets resolved and the ticket is still open, the Customer Support rep will let you know, so no harm done.
  • for those that lost their bank tabs, I got a email from support, stating that they know about the bug and to be patient, that they are working on it and once it gets straightened out, they will let us know through email and forums as well. they don't have an eta on when they think it will be.
    im glad to finally get a response to my ticket, and I will patiently wait for them to fix it. so don't worry people, they haven't forgotten about us, and they are fully aware of the problem.
    just wanted everyone to know so we don't have to worry right now.
