Horrid Frame rates

Hi everyone, I just started playing Tera again last week, and though I'm aware of the frame rate issues, I noticed today that I am getting much much worse frames than the last week I've played. And no it is not my computer, I have an i7 4790k and an R9 390x. I have also been getting frequent pauses where the sound also glitches and always repeats 3 times in a row. No more or no less, always 3 times. Now that I think about it, the patch was just yesterday wasn't it? Could this have to do with it? Because it was not happening before.

    On the pause and sound glitch, when I say three times, I mean it like this: My character will be doing a skill and going "HAAAA!" like a normal scream, but instead, my frames drop to zero and it goes "HAAA HAAA HAAA" three times from the same skill.

    Well, I know this is the stupid Tech Support answer, but first I would just try restarting your computer to be sure. But aside that, I am wondering if it could be an issue caused by Windows Defender that some people have noted. Many people have noted performance problems that were resolved by adding the TERA folder to the Windows Defender exceptions list.

    It may be something else entirely, but I figure just start with two common possible causes and go from there.

    Ok, my frames are terrible. Its basically unplayable. I thought it was maybe just Highwatch and the overpopulation, so I went to Velika, and still basically unplayable. I can't even walk without the frames constantly dropping to zero. I know before there was frame issues and it would lag a bit, but nowhere to this extent....Anyone that can help?

    So you've tried adding the TERA folder to your Windows Defender exceptions list, and that didn't change anything? The steps are here in the link. If that doesn't work and you've tried other things like updating your video card drivers, running Windows Updates, and the like, then I would contact support and have them help you through it.

    It worked! I did both a gpu update and did the folder thing, not sure which made it work! But it worked! I can play again! <3 Thanks!
