aggro reset mechanisms?
Just wonder it's highly possible for tank instantly losing aggro to a DPS when bosses doing specific attacks or mechanisms.
In VoK, when Kornus(lancer) summons a trap.
In LKNM, when Lilith do suck->puddles(that stack debuffs if you get hit).
I don't need 'Git Gud' comment. Even if tank is dealing 2x as much damage output as aggro'ed DPS he will still lose aggro, and the tank can't grab aggro back without using a perma-aggro skills like shouts.

I know this. Well in my case, no one dies, no noob warriors DPS use battle cry. I just point out more possibilities that cause tanks lose aggro based on my observation from hundreds of runs.
If u are not aware aggro means dps. No dps means no aggro. Often dps like to facetank mechanics they should dodge to maximize dps. If u choose to dodge those mechanics the dps will rip aggro from depending on what gear you have and consequenty how rapidly aggro decays as a result.
Ex: Lilith puddle debuff mechanic
Guile lancer plus behemoth buffed Thunderbolt = lose aggro
To be frank ur supposed to iframe it but as another poster stated u have a shout that actuslly works now. Regardless diff in skill + gear will make aggro harder to deal with.
And yes OP, there's a few mechanics in dungeons that cause tanks to lose aggro for no good reason. To make things worse, sometimes even aggro shout does nothing to get the aggro back. Nothing you can do but suck it up and hope your dps understands your plight.
obv hes lying and is a newb if he mentioned LKNM this late into the patch.
Read between the lines make sound deductions. He isn't doing 2x the damage as the other dps in his party period during that mechanic and is being vain. That should have been obvious and the example used was to point out that blatant lie. I doubt he even knows what a you know what is so ho would he even know he is doing twice the DPS? More likely his rotation is botch, ppl in his party harassed him to the point of posting this in the forums (guild 1st u ask theses questions), and yeah challenging shout been fixed for a while now it gives u aggro back regardless of the situation.
The only thing I can think of is the aggro bug which clearly he isn't describing here.
Aggro briefly shifts for no apparent reason during her pull-in AoE. Have seen it happen to plenty of tanks, regardless of gear/damage/etc. including tanks that I've never seen lose aggro anywhere else.
Always seemed to me like it gives aggro to the first person to hit the boss immediately after that attack, if it isn't the tank, but I don't know.
Another similar thing I've noticed many times is that aggro shouts don't seem to work on Dakuryon (SS 2nd boss) during his laser phases. Never been sure if that was an intended effect of his boosted defense during that attack (don't know why it would be though).
VoK trap summoning losing aggro doesn't make sense, I have never encountered that problem even on my brawler.
LKNM suck is blockable, so I don't see why you will get hit. Same thing I never had that problem even when the guy is one tier up and judging from the HP bar (cuz dps meter is banned) is definitely doing at least twice my damage.
Brawler will be getting a really needed buff soon though, so you can't lose aggro from them nuking while you don't have GF up anymore.
I think the aggro not switching is intended, he doesn't change primary aggro from shouts until after the cast. During lasers you don't really explicitly need aggro outside of the extra 6.9% damage anyway since most of the time DPS should be able to burn down if you can maximise rotations.
now agroo generation coming from damage , but is no all agroo generation ( Treatenign niveot still are aviable for agroo magnament since work same like old formula ), and if tank need perma agroo for mecanic instead "pro" dps still atack and dont understand how agroo works. im saw berksers and lancers in slaugter weapon dont lose agroo vs +15 "pro" dudes ( and spacebarkiries ) because when they stop agroo generation use the shout for perma agroo.
I do not recommend nor would I even bother with that inferior way of tanking.
Theoretically I suppose it would work if Lancers went full aggro build haven't done that since KN20
Here is an example video serves as a hard evidence explaining my topic.
I was on a warrior tank. My battle cry should guarantee a 5-seconds perma aggro as intended.
I used battle cry right before that 'suck-puddle' attack.
I lost aggro instantly, that 5 seconds aggro stopped working. Aggro switched to Ninja.
Ninja unfortunately got 5 stacks and stunned, then I finally grabbed aggro back after she died.
Same touble goes for other tanks and their shout. Aggro just disappears with an unknown reason no matter how much spike damage/aggro you have done.
LK and VoK are gettting removed soon. But do keep is thing in mind in future dungeons. Because incompetent BHS is recently releasing more and more buggy dungeons with poor design and low quality. It is no telling what more frustrating facts will be discovered later.
Maybe the aggro switch was intentional due to the boss doing the mechanic? Is it a bug with the shout? I can't really tell because I almost never need to use shout unless I am severely undergeared.
