Hey. How about that Server lag? Enmasse

Anyone else feeling this lag today? I know you are. Enmasse please go on your own game and see what is happening today. It is crazy how unstable it is. I am talking with six different people over discord and they are all experiencing the same lag. We are not in the same dungeon either. NO WAY CAN THIS BE CALLED A STABLE SERVER. PLEASE FIX! :angry: Some one save us.... :bawling:

    Don't worry its not the servers its just your routing. So just contact your isp.

    AV lag so bad it broke tera.

    they're investigating it.... but this investigation takes like 8 months, and still no results, probably a murder case would be solved by now :D

    Just Remove AV server totally, I think that solves the lag problem cause we all know now, AV is the cause of lag ;)

    I've been having constant server lag issues where several people in different areas, instances, battlegrounds, dungeons, have all stopped for 1-2 seconds simultaneously, while game time continues to flow.. anyone else from different servers having this issue?

    No it's not the fps, that's sounds like a 'you' problem, not the constant high ping you get cause of maybe your ISP or your routing to servers, but an entire server lag where everything and everyone in your server lags for up to maybe 2 seconds.

    What server are you playing on? We were discussing yesterday that some servers may be having this sort of problem more than others. TR seems to be a prime suspect. (AV seemed to be having this trouble earlier today before it crashed.)

    Can confirm was having tons of lag today on AV both before and after the crash and was also lagging in BGs and RM. My ping to EME during the week is as low as 37 but today was a constant 60-70 with spikes that were just pauses. This was also noticed by my discord group since we would always let out a collective sigh when the spikes happened.

    @counterpoint

    It's not just AV lagging today, it's been lagging consistently last few days. I know it's not just me because everyone in my guild and people I've partied with, have experienced it at the same time. There are this 1-2 sec or 2-3 sec lag, it's not a local issue. Even in harrowhold last night, everyone felt it. So it's not just one person. I have some recorded stream from yesterday to show proof that it happened many times. This is possibly occurring in all servers and happening in all instances such as dungeons, open world, battleground, etc.

    What's the point for us to always troubleshoot, nothing is ever done and no communication given. Issue started back in ninja patch last year, then it seem to fix for a while. Then issue returns sometime in November 2016, started to get more noticeable in December. Then go about a month or two ish, it was okay and then back to the lag again. It makes some of us unmotivated to play due to this issue. Yeah it's our ISP right....

    If this is the timeframe... one contributing cause may also be Zayo. The times when you say "it was okay" was when they switched to Savvis, and then they switched back. And now the complaints are up again.

    That said, you are playing on AV, or what server are you on? For things like HH, your guild, and so on, it's still everyone on the same server at the same time. Even when you go into an instance, there's some crosstalk back to the home server. When the home server lags, it'll cascade to everyone no matter what they're doing (even in battlegrounds, etc.).

    And well... all I can do is try to narrow down the root cause and communicate it to EME. It's up to them to take action.

    CH, when I was playing and also doing CS, no unusual lag, just my usual poop net lag and no one was complaining. O.o

    I am one of the players routed through the Zayo nodes in Chicago. I have seen my fps go from 70 to 1 (not exaggerating). In other games I do not see these wild fps spikes. Even farming/grinding on IOD is basically undoable and I can't run dungeons with my fps dropping this low. What makes this so disheartening is that they knew and must know if they moved us from Zayo to Savvis to begin with. Would be nice if EME/BHS could make Tera playable again.

    Well, if you're talking about framerate... that's not usually caused by anything over the network. Usually with network lag your framerate will be fine, but your attacks will be delayed in hitting or monsters will be frozen, and then suddenly act all at once. That's what we're normally talking about in terms of "lag."

    Framerate issues are a different matter. The game is hardly well-optimized in the first place, and there are certainly places where you'll get a lot of slowdown, but I'm not sure going all the way down as far as you're saying is typical (though it depends on exactly what dungeon you're talking about -- maybe it's "normal"). Would probably need a bit more information about your machine and the sorts of times this happens to know for sure. This sort of issue could also be caused by heat issues (because of TERA's optimization problems, the game is known to make some CPUs/GPUs run hot in some cases).
