I highly recommend looking at BDO enchanting system before you become enamored with its beauty lol. It is by far the worst I've seen.

Reminds me of the time when they said "When BDO comes to NA TERA will be dead"
welp it's always the same, before it was BnS....

We should make a meme thread about names of games that will kill TERA when they hit NA, there's always a new game that will kill it. I've already made up "Barbie Explorer: the Vengeance of Cthulhu" and "My Little Pony: The Carnage Returns II (R-18)"

for me to even consider picking up another MMO (i barely play tera as it is at this point) the combat would have to be nearly identical. none of these weak lame knock off "combat systems" like BnS or BDO. i'm not sure how people can be so easily duped into thinking those combat systems are anything like tera's, like, are we playing the same game?

combat is 99% of all mmo's lifeblood, if it ain't fun then the whole game ain't fun. part of why it feels like mmo's as a whole are in a steady decline, they're all hella antiquated. it's not fun to play games that literally feel archaic in your hands.

Vindictus and Lineage II are even worse. Your item can be destroyed for good much earlier on. Not fun times.

I agree teras combat system is second to none your camera can rotate without you character rotating or moving which is just a real feel I played RO and its the worst you can't see what's behind you without your whole body turning. the combat in tera is so comfortable been trying to migrate to another mmo but I can't I love tera too much.
  • TL:DR: Avid PVE player unhappy with too many unfixed issues and recent actions.

Here are just some thoughts from an avid PVE player here. I get bored when I see dungeons repeating similar mechanics, or just a blatant copy-paste. Ever since SCHM time, all I saw was mechanics being repeated over and over in different ways. Here is an example, BR has the cage mech, SS literally copied off the same mechanics from BR and made it faster. Its not as if there is no effect in making mechanics faster, it certainly pisses the hell off people when its not intuitive in its approach.

Next, I don't care what 'exciting' changes you have in the future when you can't even fix issues that are bugging the game since the first time I even touched Tera. Mind you, I was introduced to Tera from a fellow friend of mine, and there were already issues that I heard even before I touched Tera that I knew was not right (Please, I play a lot of TPS games in the past to know), especially in netcoding. I seriously wonder if the devs and EME kmow how frustrating it is to play with high ping all the time. You may not be a hardcore like us, but we perhaps played your games overnight, through thick and thins for a long time, and yet we don't get fixes for issues that plague us? Things like Lancer's Onslaught desync, Archer's Rapid Fire, Reaper's Shadow Burst, and heck, even Brawler's AA. Every voice-chatting PVE session from my guild is wrecked with "Oh I desynced through the boss, LAG, Ping zzzzz, I CLIPPED THROUGH THE BOSS". You can tell me its the big stuff that you should enjoy, but the last thing I know is that, its the small detail that matters, and as far as I know, game developers who takes care of these small details are the ones who have long enduring games.

And then afterwards, you went on a ban-wave of Tera community devs, on argument that third-party softwares are not allowed. Here is my view on this, why do you think they existed in the first place? I never used them, but I certainly am aware of them and their uses, especially in competitive PVE. Instead of fixing the problem at it's roots, EME has just slapped the community with a simple ban-wave, that does nothing but create the Streisand Effect (To be honest, I didn't even know some of the mods until the ban-wave came). Hurrays for doing exactly the opposite of what you want to do, get rid of exploiters, but boo to not doing what you should have been doing, fixing issues. Now instead of applauding the people who have been creating ways to fix issues for you, you slapped them with a ban in their face, shame on you.

And then lastly, thanks for your poor support in fixing my issues in Tera, I actually found using my own knowledge of networking and computers more useful than the replies I get from your support. Every time I send a ticket to support for lag issues (Mind you when I mean lag, I don't mean ping, I mean lagspikes), I get the same "There are packet hops over xx.xx.xx.xx IP, that is causing the lag". If it was really that IP that was causing the lag, then why do my guildies and even other people get the lags at the same time as well. I am not interested in your 'packet hop' excuse because I know exactly what it is. In fact, here is what I do whenever I use my knowledge alone, I just press 2 buttons: Option -> Quit, and then begrudgingly go off playing my other games, and perhaps contemplate another MMO to major in. If you truly with to keep your player base, perhaps have a seat and understand how to make our experience a bit better. You can say you are trying, but all we see is a classic sign of NATO (No Action, Talk Only). You can be authoritarian in these issues, but you will end up driving more players away (Which btw is pretty dead from all that I see).

So thanks for the time but no thanks for the treatment yea. Me and my guild have enjoyed playing Tera in the past, but the lack of proper remedy for a plethora of issues have put us off.

Yeah I've seen it. I'm not actually thinking about BDO specifically, it's just the first MMO that came to mind with action combat.

    *snip*

That's just one thing I can't fathom about the players in this game. I just recently started playing less than a month ago and the combat is one of the few things that I really kinda don't like about this game. it feels way too wonky with the whole spacebar chainslam dealy.

    You shouldn't rely on Spacebar.

I try not to because I end up jumping and killing my combo a lot. :-/ Adds to the overall wonkyness.
  • trust me bro, BDO sucks. It's P2W more than tera is. Insta revive potions, immortal potions, etc in cash shop. It's become a potion drinking contest. Its combat sucks [filtered] too, very confusing. You have to press up, down, side arrows in conjunction with buttons to get your skills to fire, and there's no rhyme or reason for it. You can kill yourself trying to evade and fire off a skill at the same time, but end up running forward to your doom instead. You also cannot config your skill bar. Also, there is only WASD, arrows don't work for movement.

That may be true, but at least the developers actively try to fix the game. You can see this reflected in the patch notes.

Ummm, no. I still log into BDO sometimes and their servers are also laggy as hell. Then there is the market place rng bidding system (terrible idea), no pve endgame at all (minus mind numbing mob grinding), enchanting system that is so severe (especially for accessories), and you'll never catch basement dwelling no-lifers in PvP. Honestly, Tera is way better overall compared to BDO as a whole in my opinion.

bindings dude. rebind ur stuff. especially your jump key rebind it something else, whatever works for you.
judging by your icon, if you're playing zerk you should be inputting the very few skills you use manually.... zerk is like... one of the last classes i expect to even think about using spacebar chains.

protip: just cause you get a popup chain skill that's like "use this skill now!" doesn't mean you should.

(alternatively you might not just like zerk. try something else)

Hey EME question to you guys does BHS have any plans to keep this game alive? cause i'm seeing a slowly sinking ship. so devs what you guy have to say.

At the moment it seems like Tera is on life support with the blatant copy/paste Lachelith.

I wonder when nTera will get kTera compensation for having similar server instability that NA has been suffering for months! (Worse during events) :anguished:
