I have run a bunch of diagnostics and can see zero issue on anything on my personal network as well as my path up to zayo. I get no information from Zayo because they do not return ICMP requests so to me it always looks like a 100% loss. As others have outlined the issue is definitely on their end of the spectrum because it seems to affect all players simultaneously and this can be confirmed by anyone using any VOIP program in a group. Many have talked about how the 3rd party apps will be the death of Tera with EME but I believe it will be the unplayable lag and lack of response from EME in this area. This issue has been in place since forever but has gotten worse since the valkyrie patch and this weeked was easily the worst I have seen yet. There was no reprieve even in open world when I finally got sick of BGs and RM that I attempted to finish off my vans in IOD and the lag was still present there too.
This weekend and triple drop especially yea but it's also been spiking a lot even without events. It's been getting worse over time.
Well as I said in my post, the only reason they don't want to fix it is because they want to phase out free players through Steam and other avenues, and concentrate on getting $$$ from the console people. Time will tell but I suspect that they will bomb, as console games have much higher quality graphics and they won't go backwards to cartoons when they have fully digitized people and voices.
So IMo and experience about videogames online I can tell a pc game will never run as fluid as a videoconsole, but talking about our case in TERA i think the biggest issue rely on the server itself, to explain i'll use some example did you ever made a pc game run at the edge ,the limit of the requeriments? It could run yes but really forcing all your pc tech processor graphic card no matter you would experience for sure lagg micro lagg pauses desync crashes etc, so in here I opine we have the very same problem, the major problems are the servers wich are overloaded by content and can't process it all fluidly, and that is something you cannot fix with tweaks and configurations anymore at this point with so many areas classes features comtent areas etc
The only way to solve this is 1- to rent newer and more powerful servers or 2-to make a big clean up, removing content, channels, dungeons, bgs etc to offload the server
I don't hink they'll do any of these 2 options obviously, they cannot fix it at least not yet. as most of you must know they are working on the consoles jump confirmed by several admins from the staff that were asked about what they are doing, they arent sitting watching us complaint they are working on the consoles project and they are busy. so I suggest we all remain patient till they make official posts about t wich is in my opinion where all the lag issues regarding our actual Tera pc situation will be answered , treated, fixed or ignored, we do not know yet,
We do not know what they really plan. are we going to have new servers? ar we gonna have merges ,willl we be mixed with consoles servers or stay separated as pc version,and can we join new possible console servers with our pc accounts, lotta important questions unknown
I estimate the launch of betas should be soon since they would launch the new Tera platforms during june-july or at least is when i'd release it fro marketing reasons, summer holidays could be a perfect time to do business and allow players with more free time to test , and if not cause they encountered many problems then during christmas season, in any case the change is real and it is going to happen so going back to our servers lag issues i think the real answer will occur or will not occur until the consoles release.
I was very happy and still happy cause to me if tera had no lore no quests no dungeons just battlegrounds I'd stil donwload it cause thats my personal point of view I can be happy playing battlegrounds all day but thats my case , now thanks to the highlights bgs recent events i can enjoy playing 40 bgs a day lol obviosuly that is not how a MORPG is supposed to work,
So when on the other thread people were mad complaining about other types of lag unsolved i was just pointing out that my thread wasn't simply the right place, during some dungeons there's still lag, caused by bosses mechs and their specific reasons , in open world too has micro lag like if the view forward sometimes need some time to load specially if there are bams around like Island of Dawn, during rally bams its normal to have lag for other reasons , and during weekends it is true that all of us will experience more lag even during battlegrounds due the increase of population online, so basically that is the main reason of Lag issues , the more content a server holds the more lag,
i wouldnt bet for routing issues or our net or location (i play games hosted in chicago japan and china , high pings 0 lagg) since it is very noticeable when and why servers are overloaded, tweaks can be made and may help to breath the servers but it won't solve tha lag issues for good because the ones we have are old and not powerful enough
On the other hand i see pointless at least for now until the consoles launch shows up to make thousands threads repeating ourselves over and over and over again about the lag cause admins are aware they just have to log in they know and they also won't make an announcement saying they can't do anything about it, so if you expect that I'd give up would you announce that? No simple
So again I suggest to stay positive lets enjoy tera the current tera we have today there are nice events going on and they are busy working so try to be not so negative and allow them to do their jobs , they kept the game alive for 5 years wich isnt an easy task as publisher adapting a game from a foreign language another different culture, so lets give them that just be patient and let's see how this goes when TERA consoles arrive and then if it sucks i'll complaint as well or request or study my options as tera Pc player, but for now my advice is to chill cause whinning about all the time won't speed up the process, that is how I see it according to my experience , this ain't my first rodeo bruh, cheers all enjoy the events and queue gridiron and dungeons jacpots and do our job as players and let's hope for future good news to come
I just predict that they will not get a very large audience from consoles, but we will see.
Will they be running their own servers for console? I assumed part of the provision with consoles is that player subs to Xbox Live/PSN are to cover server fees and such for games and that Microsoft/SONY were in charge of that end to make sure the experience is smooth across all their titles.

Might be still cause many people are said to still use injectors? I can imagine if half population fakes 0 ping - stresses potato server way more, then other half. I dont know. Or servers are just too potato.
Injectors reduce strain on servers. Stop being part of the misinformation. Injectors and proxy servers are NOT the reason the game is lagging. Stop finding pointless excuses to why the servers are lagging. Server lag has been an issue before the bloom of injectors and even now after many people have removed it. It's clearly a problem on EME's end (although they won't admit it).
