  • As a new player here is the thing that bugs me the most and will probably put me off very soon: leveling way too fast. I know all the veteran players love it, because they can level their alts real quick, but it drives me crazy. Tera seems as a game with lots of features and an interesting story line, but I am missing on all of them. I am simply leveling way too quick and I cannot do the story line. I leveled so fast, that I even missed half of the instances on the way to level 60, and I have never used any of the XP boosts. I am about to hit "end game", but I know nothing of the game, I feel so lost. One thing I know for sure is, I am probably going to get bored real quick of the "end game" cycle, ie login, run the same instances, do the same dungeons and that is it. I know this is PvP game, but I am level 60 and have not seen, or experienced it in game. The game does not mention it anywhere. I am guessing I will do some PvP at "end game", but I am pretty sure I will be turned off real quick, since I know nothing of it and my gear will be terrible, not to mention I am still trying to learn my skills and figure skill rotation for myself. Also all the stuff so far feels way too easy. Dungeons are a joke.

I think the only thing Tera has going for itself is its combat system, which is very fun, but not by any means hard. I know a lot of people bash on tab based MMOs, but the ones I have played were much harder. Also it is very beautiful game, although I did not see much of it, as I could not explore all zone, again, leveled too fast.
  • Also I am not the only one that feels this way. The other day I partied with a ninja in a dungeon. We were the only newbies in the group. After we finished the dungeon we stayed in group and chatted for a while. He had no clue what was going on in game either.

"As soon as another game with TERAs combat system comes out I'm out of here."

My thoughts exactly. The combat is the only thing keeping this game alive. If BDO for example, went f2p sometime, I would play that in a blink.

@Jordansb1 So you're unable to pay 10$ for a game?

I highly recommend looking at BDO enchanting system before you become enamored with its beauty lol. It is by far the worst I've seen.

@nicky2tymes I never bother with enchantment, because it's hell ad I just buy from marketplace.

The is not story @Sparky12 and you're not missing much. There's not a lot of features in this game. This is not PVP game. This is heavily PVE game. Open PVP starts at 65 if you're in PVP server. Most people are in Highwatch or in cities, so good luck finding people in open world. Open world quests are terrible. It's all the same 10000 times over the world map. The only way to earn gold is to grind PVP battlegrounds or high tier endgame dungeons.
  • If i have anything against Tera, it's without doubt :

    - Constant Casual-isation.
    - Elin-isation to puking level .. :p
    - Ignoring it Western community.

Also would like to Quote few users,

trust me bro, BDO sucks. It's P2W more than tera is. Insta revive potions, immortal potions, etc in cash shop. It's become a potion drinking contest. Its combat sucks [filtered] too, very confusing.

    Sorry, I don't trust Liers.

    - What "immortal" potions are you talking about ? Let me help you with this link : Bdo Database It contain information about every single item in the game, take your time searching, and bring me those "immortal" potions, okey ?

    - By instant revive = Ellion Tears ? A Cash shop item, that is also obtained in-game through events : Black Spirit Adventure. At first you might think this item is OP, because it can revive a Character in place with few Hp, but the truth is the game mechanic make this item 100% Convenient, in fact it's even a waste of money to buy it, why ? Death Scenarios :
PvE Death : If you die to Bdo mobs then .. seek help. The only legit reason to die in PvE is doing World/Field Bosses, and because of their several 1 shot mechanics, peoples use Boss Alts because of the chance of losing 1% Exp ( a 56 Alt at 0% dying to a boss = lose nothing).
PvP Death : Karma System make this item Obsolete, and the victim lose nothing and can spawn few seconds away from the "Crime scene".
The Node system = Similar to a checkpoint in the world map, make this 0.22 $ Item Absolutely Worthless.

    - P2W : *sigh* I would like to point out, how the p2w drama that surounded Bdo around 10 August 2016 Patch, was done by a select grp of brain dead millenials, and was blown out of proportion because of few Hypocrites Ytubers jumping on the Bandwagon for views (Mainly LazyTrash aka peon**), the patch allowed the players to sell a maximum of 5 Cash Shop items in the Marketplace per week. Funny thing, those exact Ytubers returned to the game few weeks later, throwing their quiting videos behind the wall like nothing happened .. Legit.
So, that out of the way, What is exactly P2W About Bdo ?? Please Enlighten me/us.

    - The part about you struggling through it controls was absolutely laughable, and was in fact the trigger for this post : i just don't appreciate *insert something not very nice* failing at the simplest task, yet have the nerve to spread mis-informations .. The game combat is fantastic, and much faster paced than Tera, in fact it only cons that i personally dislike is the slight aim assistance on Ranged Attack, other than that it's Superior in every way, and i play both games.

**Peon : The same guy is now doing his best, to fish as many gullible idiots as possible through his Referral Link in Ashes of Creation, claiming he is supporting the game & building hype for it, when the reality : He get 15% of Account Purchase from anyone using his Link, those purchases can then get turned into $$ without this peoples knowledge.

Then there is the market place rng bidding system (terrible idea), no pve endgame at all (minus mind numbing mob grinding), enchanting system that is so severe (especially for accessories), and you'll never catch basement dwelling no-lifers in PvP. Honestly, Tera is way better overall compared to BDO as a whole in my opinion.

I respect that you labeled your post, as an opinion,

    - The Rng in Marketplace is actually a fantastic idea, and allow absolute fairness between every single player, and because the controlled fixed items in the economy, it help a long way to combat inflation, and maintain a stable economy.
Looking at Tera, it should be clear how open economy driven by players, is not as healthy as it sound, just look at Emp ratio and how they evolved to bigger numbers through the last 5 years.
There is nothing wrong about seeking items in Market, but you need to acknowledged that Bdo is a Sandbox, and you can produce/craft/obtain every single item in-game if you make it your goal - Exit the Them-park mindset.

    - What is "End-game" ?
Looking for Dungeons ? Aakman + Hystria, more are coming with Kamasylvia expansion.
For PvP ? Red Battlefield + Guild Vs Guild + Node Wars + Casual Open World, and the new Arena coming soon.
Crafting maybe ? The most detailed Life Skills system that was ever built = Objective fact, not an Opinion.
Sandbox game, Again pls exit Them-Park mindset.

    - Agree about the Enhancement system in it current state, it's similar to Tera +15 when it first came out, more changes are planned to make it more friendly tho, the evidence is the coming Crone Energy System (Not to be confused with Crones Stones).

    - The irony .. cause i can say the exact same thing about Tera.

Final Words = Enjoy both games, Stop spreading Lies.

This Online game is way to repetitive Every new Major Patch Launch has new gear/Jewelry/VM? and a higher feedstock level plus a new dungeon (Same as Always) Older gear is cheap and bought with IOD tokens.

Then comes the Once in awhile Event that everyone hates and regrets...

It's getting OLD... We need more content aka; PVP revamp and better PVE playgrounds in the Open world. Tera is a beautiful place with many scenery's why not use them as hunting grounds for Grinding at higher levels?
Dungeons currently are Just to buggy/Chaotic and need to be gotten rid off. New content in the open world. That will bring back Players.

Lol, so you don't have a 65 yet? If not, then you should probably wait to judge. Dungeons become more difficult, and hard modes will live up to their name. There is plenty to do at endgame. More so than a lot of other mmos. Also, you have been getting prompts to do pvp (corsair, kuma, etc.) while leveling but you may have cleared them off your quest tracker. There is also more pvp options at 65.

True, but the 0 endgame minus pvp is a turn off for me. I still play occasionally (will make a striker when released) but after sausan grinding for a few hours, I'm done for a few months.

a slight offtopic: when you guys mention people in comments, it pops up a message for that player. OK, normal. But when you start to quote each other and it keeps on that quoting sequence with all the mentions it FILLS one's inbox with mentions. Dunno how/why using the arrows quoting but when I quote people with that I remove the mention tag just to not fill up inboxes. Of course dunno if it even bothers anyone, just a heads up.

If you want this game to stay Alive, then Stop :

    - The constant Casual-isation of it content.
    - The Elin-sation of it bad-[filtered] theme .. it getting ridiculous to puking levels .. :p
    - Ignoring the western Player base.
