Opinions on best class for all around PVP

Hello guys! I'm not necessarily looking for the most overpowered class, but more like a jack of all trades class. I want a class that has some decent 1v1 potential, but can still decimate in mass PVP. I also have a not so fantastic computer so most melee (with the exceptions of brawler/valk/ninja) are out of the question. I do have most classes at 65, so this is more of a fresh start type deal! I am making a new character and would love opinions. (I am also a returning TERA player!)

    People will just throw their preferences at you and say X class is better than Y class.

    There's no best class or races, but the person that is playing that specific class.
  • If you read my question I said I was looking for the jack of all trades.. not the best class or anything overpowered. I understand all classes have counters and work differently, which is why I wanted an opinion on what people felt was better all around. OPINION.
  • Most classes are broken, so anyone but zerker or slayer u ll be fine.
    Reaper: BIG damage and excesive range for a "MID" range class, with high att speed. (where is the mid range?? they have same or more than sorc)
    Sorc: Very powerfull, from what i saw in VO, very good for 1v1 and for mass pvp
    Archer: broken stunlock combo. 100-0 and the poor victim just can see his death.
    Valkl: same as archer but with a little more powerfull mass pvp skills.
    Gunner: Not so good for 1v1 but shines in mass pvp, obtaining pentakills from 1 skill.
    Brawler: perhaps the better one in 1v1, and can manage for be dangerous in mass.

    I spend my day with a low level char (while waiting for instances) in VO seing duels and pvp, thats are my observations.

    I am super stuck between brawler and gunner at this point, but brawler seems to be best.

  • Excuse me, but zerker is a jack of all trades class good for 1v1 good for 3v3 good for group PvP if played properly. You know how much thunderstrike hurts if you play well?

    or how much full cyclones that stagger people allowing for big aoes and such to be used? Quite a bit. In terms of jack of all trades classes your options for dps go

    Reaper, Lancer, brawler,Valkyrie,Zerker, Sorcecer. Possibly ninja

    In terms of healers both mystic and priest are strong in their own ways.

    If we are talking everything like 3v3s, 1v1 and massive open world PvP the DPS classes I listed up there are jack of all trades. I do not list warriors, slayers, or gunners for the reasons of.

    While gunners Excel 1v1 and group PvP they fall short in 3v3 smaller skirmishes where their potential is limited do to their only being two other people to help them out and a majority of their skills being easy to avoid.

    Warriors Excell 1v1 and 3v3 but in group you have no aoes and are mostly focused on dealing damage to a single target. With very few ways to avoid CC's such as stun bomb, sundering strike and other massiveAoe attacks other than death from above roll and dstance block.

    Which while good for 1v1 and small teams.. you're now in a all outbrawl getting hammered by a multiplitude of multiple aoes which are honestly going to shred you to pieces because not that much survivability.

    Your single target focus can only be applied one person at a. Time and most likely will mostly be used to peel, focus down specific targets or distract/ control them.

    hopefully somewhere not in the middle of the blood bath as if you go face tanking the with the Frontline charge you are doomed to die quickly and quite horribly.

    Slayers ..well let's be honest.. they don't really Excell at anything these days and even in the old days didn't really Excell that much in massive Pvp.

    It's honestly whatever you prefer. If you're lower pinged and love combos go brawler

    If you love 1 shotting a raid or playing ranged go gunner

    yeah oneshotting every 3 mins lol

    Smaller groups such as 3v3's their threat level greatly decreases as their attacks, are easier to dodge, Balder's is a easy skill to see coming and over all it's just not good for smaller scale where there's alot less targets to hit and damage from a distance compared to massive PvP battles.

    Warriors are single target DPS. rotation so while they Excell at smaller group PvP and one vs one. they are almost absolutely useless when it comes to 20v20 their job mainly becoming ccing or focusing down one target at a time and dying horribly for doing so.

    This being mostly because warriors have no big aoe skills and are based off that single target rotation. Probably the reason they do so much damage in 3v3's

    Slayers are...basicially useless in almost all fronts except one vs one and even then they are the under dogs.

    As for why I mentioned zerker? Being a jack of all trades class. They Excell in 1v1 Excell in 3v3 and can do quite well in massive group PvP.

    Do to them having a decent amount of aoe skills and that ability to mocking shout and tenacity stuns for a few seconds but those few seconds being just enough time to Knockdown.

    A Large number of people hitting with full charges which can effectively decimate enemies. Or ripping through people with esmash. Their peeling potential is quite strong and quite annoying as their thunder strike can strike multiple targets off a person.

    Cyclone can stagger a large group of people allowing so good number of follow ups. And Fear can disable large crowds of people allowing others to rip through them or better focus individual targets or allowing time for the raid they are in to regroup and do some damage.
